Loved seeing theo running around and having fun he is a lovely dog.
Don't change anything about your filming it is just right.
It shows the good times and the slow times you have it just right keep it up

Hi Chris, I fished the Spey about 20 years ago, the association water at Grantown. Some lovely pools. Its cheaper fishing and all the salmon have to go through Grantown on there way up to more expensive beats. So why not give it a try. You get your permits from Mortimer's.

Thanks Brian, I have fished the association water a few times last year and I have a video coming up soon from my latest excursion there. It's excellent value for money!

    Hi Chris,
Enjoying the vids as usual 👍👍, it’s great having the hound with you , I have two , old lab and a very active sprocker both workers but fun on the river bank and no trouble , sit and watch the old man mess up 😉😉 so patiently , Keep them coming well done on your springer ,
You do a lot of walking , what boots do you use ? I find wading boots the trickiest thing to get right , some suggestions much appreciated , thanks , all the best , Nigel

Hi Nigel yes having the ability to have Theo out with me all day is fantastic and has a couple of extra benefits. No need for another walk and I get some semblance of peace in the evenings as he sleeps alot more after his dinner. Not sure i can give you much advice about wading boots, mine are Scierra boots but they are very old, must be at least 8 years old now. Maybe that is why they are so comfortable to walk in as they are so worn in. I replace the laces and felt soles and studs when they wear out. I have also sewn the sole to the boot a few times with 50lb braid. They don't look very smart but they are very comfortable. I also don't lace them up beyond the ankle which might help you. Thanks for watching my videos and for the support. Chris

Korkers Darkhorse Wading Boot with the interchangeable soles. And Boa Mk2 boot tighening/ loosening makes it so easy adaptable versatile and flexible. Rubber Hiking tread with studs can be swapped to felt or felt with studs or their various steel gripper soles eg alumatrex or triple threat. Vibram studded treaded rubber sole is great for any longer hikes up and down banks. Not cheap initially and you may need to buy from USA eg Mad River Outfitters and buy some import taxes but superb and hard wearing comfy and very long lasting. Make sure you buy 2 sizes oversize to wear over sockfoot waders. You can always add thicker socks but you can do anything about over tight boots.

Proper man size wading jacket made me giggle. 3xl = proper man size, agreed. Keep the vids coming Chris

Sportfish at River Wye Winforton Herefordshire ordered me a 4XL Simms Pro Goretex Wading Jacket it's superb and being 23 stone bit rotund tall and big shoulders too it was one of the few jackets I could find big enough. I cant understand why more brands dont do 4XL( in fact not many offer 3XL).... because bigger jackets can accommodate a heated jacket or several layers in winter. Nothing worse than a tight jacket when fishing. So you don't need to be huge to use it. They also fitted me out in the right sized waders and wading boots. Couldnt do enough to help.

Well that is very nice to hear, my experience in the shop wasn't really that good. I guess they were having a bad day. 4XL jacket, may have to look at that. Thanks for commenting 🙂

Fished Orton a few years ago mainly early season and stayed at Bruntlands on the estate. Big bit of river and some of the wading was a bit, shall we say testing!! Think it came a bit early in my salmon fishing career as found it pretty testing and didn’t have the ‘bottle’ to wade out to the hot spots.. did have one brilliant story…Gordonstoun’s headmaster was fishing below me and hooked into a fish which he played for…well let’s say quite a while, when the ghillie finally landed it the headmaster asked…Alisdair, any sign of sea lice? Alisdair paused and without turning advised him that it probably did have when he first hooked it!! Tightlines😊

your videos are brilliant mate , angling videos on youtube are mostly videos of catching fish, not many videos show the reality of us spending hours and hours fishing for naff all, for all our efforts. fair play for showing the true time and effort put in, give me a shout out in your next video pal so my other half knows how much time we spend chasing the most hardest fish to catch🤣🤣👍👍

Great video just keep them how they are and please tell me you picked up the black Francis tube that fell in the water when you changed to the yellow ally’s. And fishing on the Eden is starting to pick up I’m just going though a faze of losing them off or early catch and release as I call it

Morning Keith, thanks for subscribing and supporting my channel. Please share my videos with your fishy friends. Theo is a short legged tri colour cocker spaniel. Perfect size for our life on the road in the caravan. I really like folk / country music aa I feel it fit's with the past time. Chris Hagen is one of my favourite artists which I get from the UA-cam Audio Library. Thanks for appreciating my attitude towards filming fishing and that catching a fish is just a bonus. Tight lines for the Wear 👍

Great video again Chris. I would love to have my dogs with me like theo unfortunately they think it's a game of fetch when I cast and jump in after my line. I might look at Orton for one of the bank holidays to wet a line.

I was out the other day and chatting to one of the regulars who was targetting fish in the lower pool on the Almond while I was getting set up. He had been casting to them for a while but was getting nowhere, so he moved and let me in. Two or Three casts later, I had caught one he had been chasing for ages. I won't repeat the word he used, but it began with a B. I laughed for about an hour.

Your definitely correct in salmon fishing society if you're new or spin or bait fish for salmon there's always snobbery in salmon fishing especially with the fly fishing community
