Well done both of you, walking with sore, painful feet. The hostel being your welcome respite, plus a well earned beer and pizza. Keep your peckers up.
Little know fact: the climb up to Truleigh Hill is also known by locals as “Heart Attack Hill”. I found that stretch so so hard and remember it feeling endless. When I arrived at the YHA there, my feet could barely carry me into the room. I was so exhausted. Another great episode Dan and @Linleys. You’re really capturing a good balance of the beauty and the brutal on this one. Looking forward to Day 5. Cheers! Ben 🥾🥾
I'm surprised Warren didn't come out with that as one of his 100 facts! makes total sense.. coming at the end of the day makes it doubly difficult. It probably looks easy next to what you did : )
It just gets 'arder n 'arder the further we go .. head diwn A up you've passed halfway guys. Been quite the adventure this one coupled with some great scenery. Glad it's you not me. Bushyboy Oz.
I could feel the pain in them 'plates of meet' Dan. Prevention is the key not dealing with blisters once you got them. There are some really good Videos on blister prevention by the Army and the Royal Marines, check them out mate, there is a method and it works, may help you out in the future bud. Looking forward to day 5 ! Regards Moose
I never normally suffer with blisters.. I think it was the wet day that did me in.. I noticed after that for that wet day I'd had my trousers tucked in my socks, so water would have just soaked down them. plus I was way too slow putting on my wet weather gear. stupid really. but live and learn!
I can't do this anymore account spinal degeneration, just too much damage when I was younger pushing too hard. Carrying a pack now is agonizing for me and camping is limited to truck camping and even then it's taxing somewhat. So watching you and Warren pushing forward makes my back tighten right up🤨 But, you're over the hump and on the downward slide so dig in and continue on fellas. Great video, well done. See ya next time.
Thanks Terry, I'm glad you're enjoying it. Age is cruel, when you're young everything is so easy. We met a young couple on this trail.. they overtook us obviously. but they started 2 days after us. made me feel humble.
Gday Dan, Warren, thats my kinda trail mix, could just about live on the stuff. Wont help the feet, but how you finding nutrition/energy in general ? Cheers Duke.
for the most part I managed it well. the trail mix, and the crushed crisps I had were a steady source of calories between meals. I also had Magnesium tablets each night to help with muscle aches. The only day I messed up was the second to last day. We skipped lunch to power on (had a sausage roll from a shop is all) in order to reach our target spot. But I was carrying an injury so it all took longer. We arrived late and I was way too hungry/grumpy. once I'd eaten I was ok.. but it was my only wobble on that score.
That endless hill at the start was where me and my friend first bumped into you two..... (we did that again at various places over the next few days!) It was a tough way to start of our 4 days, so I can't imagine how you felt doing that after doing 50 miles before that!! I looked at your previous videos and the village you visited outside my hometown of Stratford was Alveston. I can't believe I forgot their YHA..... I can only blame the big gravelly climb 🤪
Hey buddy. it's funny, there was you guys, a pair of ladies and 3 guys on bikes that we bumped into more than once. It was a real lift too, seeing familiar faces along the way! appreciate the chats we had. ATB Dan
Seriously this is one of the best things on UA-cam I’ve seen for ages
I agree, he posts great stuff.
Thanks. Really appreciate that.
Good effort guys keep smiling 👍👍👍
Thank you 😀

Thank you. I was lovely to rest for an afternoon! big day to follow so it was in our plan to stop early.
Oh yes mate, another good day out on the trail. Hard, for sure, but such an achievement! Cheers, Warren :)

Everyone Deserves a friend like Warren. He is a fair dinkum solid.

I started to believe once we passed half way. I had my doubts about the distance until then.

@@CampLifeBushcraft Admitting to age creeping up on ones self is not an easy thing. Learning to deal with it is redeeming.
@terrym1065 my age is partly why I wanted to do this trip. To see if I could.

@CampLifeBushcraft Glad we bumped into you & that you finished despite the aches, blisters and exhaustion 👍

What’s causing the blisters? Poorly fitting footwear? 🤔🍄20 miles in a day won’t help 🫣
it was the wet day, both our boots and socks got soaked. the blisters formed during this day.. just had to manage them for the rest of the trip.
