Thanks Jimmy. Yeah, I was so chuffed to find beer and food! Little things like that make such a difference. This was a hard challenge, really enjoyed it though.
@@CampLifeBushcraft I understand that. I did a circular walk of the Isle of Wight (70 miles) and lost several toenails along the way. Can't beat impromptu tent-based toenail surgery...
Dan👍👍 Great to see you and Warren out on another bucket list adventure. 100 miles is no easy feat regardless of terrain, that's a long trek carrying a pack man. Nice to have villages along the way to stop at, resting and refueling for the push ahead. Amazing burger stop at the end of day one, I wanted to be there myself but you have a ways to go... See ya soon.
@terrym1065 Thanks, Terry. It was certainly challenging at times. And I wasn't sure I'd make the whole thing. But I wanted to find out. Furiously Editing all the footage at the moment 😁👍
Cool trip Dan, will follow to the end mate as always bud. Burger, beer, and a bed and two additional miles, Cracking goof first day . Great video Dan, Big thumbs up. Regards Moose
Great first instalment of your SDW adventure Dan and @Linleys! Brings back lots of memories for me. I remember passing through Meon Springs campsite and one my biggest regrets was not stopping there and instead pushing on to wild camp - on Salt Hill I think? That burger looked de-lic-ious too. Ben
James told me you two were doing it - after all your trepidation you did it . Well done 👍 it’s actually surprising what we are capable of with a positive mental attitude. I”ll bet you are well chuffed with yourself? Great to have someone like Warren to guide you - he looks like he’s done a fair bit before 😂 now all I’ve gotta do is convince that Mr Sussex Outdoors that he does actually want to do the SDW 😂
Hey Mark, it felt like a huge challenge in the beginning. I had to constantly break it into pieces to not get overwhelmed by the scale of it. but the further you get into it the easier it becomes mentally. James could do it I'm sure.. I'll mention it to him when I speak to him next and add a bit of peer pressure on your behalf : ) Thank you for watching. Dan
@@CampLifeBushcraft yep, a year ago now I backpacked the Pennine Way with my dog Lola - the PW is 260 miles through some pretty testing terrain- I found that the strategy of just taking it one day at a time worked - thinking about the enormity of the whole thing was a bit overwhelming- well done again
Who was the third person camera (wo)man around the approach to Old WInchester hill ? Almost literally on my doorstep, I can't wait for the next episode as within the first hour you will be passing one of my regular camping spots just North of Clanfield before you reach the Butser area, where I know you've camped previously. Good luck for stage #2 and beyond fellas.
no third person.. it was a combination of my hover x1 mini drone and Warrens Insta 360 camera. Thanks for the support Stuart, the start was the toughest bit mentally speaking.. the physical pain comes later! ; )
G'day Dan, Warren, ..... 100 miles to do, ........ that'd only be a coupla hours at worst by vehicle. "Mad Dogs and Englishmen" comes to mind ; ) Only jok'n of course ...... you're a better man, (men), than I am Gunga Din 👍👍👍👍👍👍 Cheers Duke.
Fantastic record of our first day. And more to enjoy mate. Cheers, Warren :)
Thanks, really enjoyed putting it together. Great trip. (If a bit challenging)
Great achievement lads 👏

Fair play to you both, that’s a tough ole slog
It was brutal at times. Glorious at other times, though 😁👍
Looking forward to part 2! That is a serious challenge. That bar/cabin was probably a sight for sore eyes.
A beer is always a bonus! it felt like a serious challenge in the beginning.. not being a regular walker I felt quite nervous to be honest.
