I'm forever indebted to Norm. For the longest time I was spending hundreds and thousands of dollars on life coaches to figure out how to live my life. Then, of a sudden, Norm crystallized everything for me in a single question: What would Seth Meyers do? #wwsmd
He has such an innocent child's look from his eyes. So pure, so right and clear that no sin, no damage the world could offer would shatter and harden that soul. Such a.. such a.. what a person that walked this earth. So cute with the lollipop too.
This fucking Lorne guy, he rubs me the wrong way. I somehow have a feeling everyone is just nice to him because of his power in the industry. I don't know, I'm talking from my ass..

That girl wanted Norm bad. You mention your underwear once, your testing the waters. You mention your underwear three times and she's already got the old chunk of coal laying down on top of her in her mind.
1:00 They are so right. I was in radio for 20 years. Every time I got fired meant I had to move about 50 miles away to work. You learn to hate program directors, and everyone in radio has problems. Usually, addictions. Being an announcer was quite the life.

His Lorne Michaels at 7:30 ain't too shabby; he did a whole movie (Hollywood & Wine) doing an impression of Clint Eastwood in White Hunter Black Heart; and his Super Dave Osborne is UNCANNY (he went on for nearly a minute during an appearance on Kimmel: ua-cam.com/video/czg_mANOZYs/v-deo.html)
I don't get why women who are not aspiring to be comedians, and even those who are, care how many funny women there are. Comedy's not for competitive or egotistical people.
Eget is exactly what that chunk of coal needed for the podcast to work. Norm had great chemistry with some of the guests, but even the most famous ones wouldn't have done a better job as a sidekick, and I'm being completely serious.
Norm did this thing with good friends where he'd needle them ruthlessly and even sort of slander them in acts of omission, just to be funny. They knew he loved them and they knew he did it out of affection but it would be severe and yet they'd laugh about it. The constant fake-bickering and insults between Carl Reiner and Mel Brooks gives some idea here. Or watch him give grief to Sarah Silverman in that MTV beach video. Adam Eget, half the guests of his podcast, etc. etc. This is what he had in common with someone he became friends with, Bob Dylan: they both liked to 'needle people' as Dylan put it at a news conference. I think Tina Fey has done a great job with 30 Rock, but a lot of people tend to be revisionists when looking back on her SNL days. I think she's funny but when she was head writer on SNL the show just wasn't funny. It had it's moments, but a lot of sketches were just horrid.
