2:47 I'm surprised more people haven't been saying this. Its been like this since MW2019 when they buffed aim assist in how it works and the ranges it goes out to. People like to refuse to address the issue and instead create the false dichotomy of mouse and keyboard vs controller when really its about balancing not which one is better. Its very clear that controller has been the better option since MW2019 but a lot of people just don't have the skill to notice the difference...

I play on PS5 and I totally agree that aim assist is to strong in recent years. I hate that every single guy I die to is a trained supper assassin and when I spectate after they don’t even know how to sprint.

And yeah sbmm is bullshit and as a controller player that's been around 1.8 for the last 10 cods minus infinite and ww2 didn't play those it feels like my controller is on rails. Question though. If they were designed to keep you on the game as long as possible and spend money, then wouldn't they design the game to be fun so people actually want to play it non-stop and want to spend money on it? 🤔
Logically that’d make sense. But for them it doesn’t, not everyone can have fun all the time. They specifically try to make the entire game more noob friendly for those players to have fun but in doing so they made the game feel hollow when trying to improve. Players have no sense of accomplishment when playing now and so they don’t have fun and just stop.

But then use SBMM and other things to ensure those people spend as much time on the game as possible, then people are more likely to spend money within the game. The push of micro transactions means that they don’t need to necessarily improve the game overall. If they focussed on selling more copies of the game, they’d want to make the game as a whole a more enjoyable experience.
Why would you care about fixing audio bugs in a game when you can come out with new skins that people will buy. Fixing the bugs won’t make more money.

Marksman I’ve been playing again but hadn’t really played since the OG mw2 a little bo2 and most games I bought just never played. I stayed playing middle of season 2 reloaded and I’m 18 poly guns away from Orion my KD is a 1.00 my W/L is 1.50 my stats took a dump not using meta guns during the grind but since I never need to do a month or so of longshots my stats are rising. I pretty consistently get 4-6 bodies in a life I use to struggle with double kills alone. I’ve made alot of progress in a short time. I’m shot is consistent I’m pretty nasty with a scope so I’ve been working on my movement and being stealthy eta. Soon as my camo grinds done I’ll be focusing on s&d all you guys I watch has helped me find a strategy to it

I been playing call of duty for 16+ years and I can absolutely agree with you on this aim assist being OP.
Same here I genuinely miss how it used to be back in the day. I mean we have great controller customization with the settings they have now which already drastically improves a lot of peoples accuracy which is great and now there just isnt any need for strong aim assist at all.
Dude for real. I haven't played video games in a month or so and the controller feels so foreign to me. It feels so fuckin awful and out of place in my hands and STILL I'm shredding because Aim assist cradles me in it's arms. This game is dogshit though I'm uninstalling.

How long have you been playing keyboard and mouse? I switched to keyboard and mouse around a year ago and now I can't go back to controller. I still need to improve on my flicks but using ARs is where I thrive. The recoil control on Mouse is so much better

The problem with this algorithm for retention is that older cods with no sbmm in pubs I could look forward to playing for hours on end but now I play for a month and get bored

Just my opinion, but the marksman rifles in some of the recent titles that are essentially just snipers with incredibly fast handling speeds break the game just a little bit. They are super fun to use and abuse, but it kind of feels like using a shotgun with extreme range. Snipers used to take a moment to ADS, but these marksman rifles seem to compete against SMGs in close range a lot easier than they should be because the handling speeds are so fast. Once you get good with a one hit kill rifle, it becomes hard to justify using other weapons. Why would I use an AR if i can just instantly kill every enemy regardless of range on most multiplayer maps with a marksman rifle that has pretty much the same handling speeds anyway? I understand that precision rifles will be harder to use than most ARs because of fire rate, but ease of use isn't really a factor for someone who is decent at the game. I'm not even amazing at the game, but I kind of feel disgusting when an enemy gets the drop on me at close range with an SMG, and then I just swipe across and one tap the poor soul before he can get the 4-5 body shots needed to kill me. Then again, I'm a guy who really liked the snipers in BO1, BO2, and Ghosts. The BO2 snipers were pretty nuts already. The BO1 snipers taught you to steady your shots instead of just shooting the instant the sights came up. They felt so rewarding to use because their handling attributes warranted a shift in gameplay, especially positioning on the map. Don't get me wrong, I was never the traditional spawn-camping hardscoper, but I did like that It took a moment to get the sights up and ensure that the shot was true instead of the tac-sprinting, booty-sliding joyride that I feel when playing newer games.

And let’s be fucking real whether or not you’re a fan of him , if you have any knowledge of this stuff you’d know that it’s added in after the video was recorded.
i’m a controller player that enjoyed the snipers most in bo3 and bo4 (both games with no aim assist on snipers) and i would consistently be top of the team. i’m not scump, but i’m decent. aim assist is way too strong in this game. it literally turns on across the map. it is broken.
Honestly that makes you so much better. I used to be in the sniping scene and would snipe without aa. When I would “reg” gun I’d turn it on and I would always get to the highest ranks in league play just due to gun skill. It helps your centering like crazy so throw in aa and you’re deleting kids before they can react. Nowadays I am still above average but aa has gotten so strong I am nowhere near as good as I used to be, it doesn’t help I’m 26 going on 27 lol. Activision trying to cater to the lower skilled players and unless you’re insanely good you’re going to struggle if you try playing aggro like back in the day. That’s why Cold War was one of the better recent cods, there was a skill gap there. Red dots, 3 lane maps, higher ttk, no loud ass footsteps, and maybe I am wrong but the aim assist was not as strong as it was in MW19 and the cods after CW
