9:40 The way I installed this gusset on my 88 was by putting a socket on the end of the swing-arm bolt then putting the small tube section over the socket. Made it easier for me to be 100% sure I wouldn’t have interference issues after welding it.
Good call. I centered it to the hole but that is a solid way to line it up

Very needed... I alone have experienced 80% of these frame failures over the years. My current 1987 has some cracks at the front engine mount and at the rear subframe/grab bar area. On my 1989 that I raced as a teen I cracked it really bad at the swing arm connection spot and up by the steering stem. 👍

Lot of good information and great explanation. Those radiator tabs are giving me anxiety 2:40, I replaced mine with a gusset and tapped hole there

I have 4 Honda's from 1983. All of them should have a frame gusset kit. Does BVC make a generic fit kit for any type of bike ?
nothing generic , but if you wanted to make some paper templates and send them to me we could cut them out for you.

for sure!... norm i do my grinding on my downdraft table.. but for video purposes we just "sent it" inside... plus...its 110 out :-)
Stop your frame rot with coating. I had my 86 done in electroless nickel. The whole frame gets submerged in the nickel coat.
