Space Engineers is a voxel-based sandbox game set in space and on planets, developed and published by Czech independent developer Keen Software House. In 2013, the initial developmental release of the game joined the Steam early access program. During the following years of active development, Space Engineers sold over one million units. In total as of 2019 the game has sold over 3.5 million copies In May 2015, for approximately a year and a half, the game's source code was officially available and maintained by KSH to assist the modding community. On December 15, 2016, the game entered Beta and was later officially released on February 28, 2019.
The game is a sandbox game about engineering, construction, exploration and survival in space and on planets. Players build space ships, space stations, planetary outposts of various sizes and uses, pilot ships and travel through space to explore planets and gather resources to survive.

Title: The new MOST POWERFUL WEAPON in Space Engineers - Anniversary Update
My Last Video: THEY FINALLY ADDED WATER TO SPACE ENGINEERS😲😲😲
#SpaceEngineers #Warfare #Update - Ігри
How did you first discover Space Engineers? Let me know!
UA-cam recommend me it so
from ectosage's Space Engineers, Deep Space Exploration Mega Ship video Oct 24, 2013
so pretty early
tho i got the game myself in 7 Apr, 2014
if i remember right that i had to wait cuzz pc was too potato to run it
Ksp.
a friend forced me to buy it and now I am suddenly approaching 2k hours
i first saw space engeneers around 5 years ago on a video of a brazilian youtuber, but i only started playing a bit after warfare 2.
Fun fact: Flare ammo can be fired from the firework launcher
Lol, that's funny.
Just not in creative mode, as the infinite ammo thing defaults to rainbow firework boxes.
Hey! I know that guy!
So what you're telling me... Is that once someone adds the ability for targeting systems to track flares, we'll have a functional chaff system???
HMMMMM....
@@TheChungassSupreme
Well, against turrets that target missiles, it already kinda works, the flare just has to enter the 800m range/ line-of-sight before the player or grid does
When I tested the fireworks, the turret DID target them, though it was with an interior turret and the turret was set to hostile rather than the fireworks.
About the statue, when messing around with friends we found out the statue is a great kinetic penetrator. It has great performance and is really cheap compared to usual known penetrators like antennas or blast doors. Curiously while doing massive damage to grids, they did no damage to ground whatsoever, so in a way reducing unintended ground damage around a target if used.
I need to do some experimenting, I'm sure there will be something.
I bet we're about to see people useing it to distract our turrets now then...

Come on Zer0 we need you back 😭😭😭
Soon!
@@Zer0sLegion Happy to hear it. Hope you are doing good :)
now we only need guided missiles in vanilla and a flare launcher that acts as a decoy for missiles
I was hoping that would work already but sadly not
@@Zer0sLegion the flare gun does though.
0:22 When I jumped on your server and started drilling under the base
Yeah, that sounds out right.
The statues remind me of the statues in "For All Mankind" for the husband and wife who made duct tape space suits to fix a melting nuclear reactor at the US moon base and died after getting back into the airlock. Their double statues like this ended up out in front of NASA Huntsville.
Need to do a parachute flare ammo so you can use them as lights. Also hopefully some MOD can make them last longer.
My friends were trying it out back in the alpha. It was so broken back then. I tried hard to get into it but couldn't. I redownloaded it, around 2020 or 2021 (whenever Warfare 1 had just released) and found the game had massively improved. Now I'm addicted.
I forget my first exposure to the game, but between SovietWomble and crew, along with Splitsie and Capac, I couldn’t resist.
The flares act almost like grenades, on the space standoff scenario you can bounce them in one of the corridors and theyll wreck anyone. Also the knockback of the flares/fireworks is really fun to mess around with in space (fling a warhead on a timer?).
Keen added in the flare gun from TF2 😂
Ain't no way!
i didnt know about the one shot for the flare. i think we know what needs to happen, flare and firework pvp...
Yeap, it's coming!
@@Zer0sLegion lets fucking gooooooooooooooooooo
god i hope i dont miss it
You walk into an Enemy Base and at the end of a hallway is a fireworks launcher
Just dropped by to say that flares also instakill spiders. And yes, they also yeet them away. It's a thing of beauty.
Damn. I hoped the Turret would target the Fireworks. Would be cool as deployable Decoys
Yeah, same
Hear me out, sailing ships with firework launchers going full broadside!
That was almost in the video lol
My first experience of knowing of space engineers was also Yogscast.
Sense they bounce can you get alot of people or a single person firing constantly into a tube to bounce concentrate them enough into basically a plasma lance.
I played the game way back in alpha. I was going on and on at work about my love for building space ships with Lego as a kid. I was collecting space ship blueprint books (my favorite being the 1991 Star Trek Technical Manual) and wanted a game that allowed for me to build such things. My friend suggested SE, watched the trailer, and I was hooked. He said he already bought me the game and we played for hours.
The community, the devs, and the fun of the game have been so awesome all these years later. Still working on my U.S.S. Enterprise 1701-D with Star Trek mods based on the book!
It's gotten me into model making and crafting again and I couldn't be happier.
I feel like for the fireworks launcher against ships, you could bump enemies to maybe mess with their aim ever so slightly. And if you're a bit deranged (like me), you could probably put a few in the back of your ship and shoot inwards for a lil extra momentum maybe
they just added planets to the game when I finally decided to buy it. You only had the yellow ship starting in space, and asteroids were the only resource you could mine. I don't recall if hydrogen thrusters were in the game yet, Ions would allow you to fly around on planets .
hello man, Happy for the new vid!
i played the game even before there where planets, on a laptop barely capable of handling larger grids, how i ended up in it i can't remember but hell it was fun, even when sometimes going to 2 fps or sometimes even 2-5 spf, when going planetside. thank goodness that i did upgrade back then
I think I'll use the fireworks as a form of smokescreen while my jumpdrive charges, if only they could be fed through conveyors...
I’ve been playing se since 2017. For roughly 4 years it was my most played game by 500 hours (I had ~5000 hours in it by the end of that time), but my now most played game has superseded it by 1000 hours (I have ~7100 in se and ~8600 in the other one). Not that that difference of playtime really matters when 3rd place is 6500 hours behind SE. I still play SE a lot to this day, and as one of my first steam games, it holds a special place in my heart. Great video! Happy 10 years!
I first saw this game 9 years ago from Nerd3's Early Plays video and the Permadeath series he did later, the Early Plays get me interested but it was really the Permadeath series that sealed it for me, just all that potential for destruction and tension sold it to me and I've been playing it basically none stop since then.
Thanks Zer0, helps a lot!
imagine all the traps you can make with fireworks
😈
@@Zer0sLegion 😈
My first contact with space engeneers was also youtube
My first experience hearing about Space engineers was when I randomly stumbled upon SovietWombles Random Space Engineers Bullshittery series a couple years ago.
Those are some very good videos.
The ghost skin is the best thing in the update. It was literally the only skin i was missing and my collection is finally finished lol.
That said the firework launchers are also fun and me and a buddy have been revamping our "party noodle" clang omatic nussance devices with them.
I saw it first as a recommendation from steam where it was still an early access and you only could play in space. The Planets where added like a year later^^
I had that ghost skin for ages but i dindt why most people didnt have it. On most servers, they think that i was a admin because my skin was glowing. But thx to this vidio i now know when i got it. And the how was with the cargo drop ships from the game that gave you random skins.
it would've been neat if rockets homed in on flares and fireworks like heatseeking missiles
I fist discovered the game through the Yogs cast as well! I majorly wanted to start playing the game thanks to LastStandGamer's survival series ages ago. I got the game but was unfortunately unable to play it due to my PC being terrible. I got back into the game sometime in 2019 and have played off and on since. I hope the new skins will last until Friday when I can buy them. Lastly, that scene with the fireworks shooting up at the Apollo has given me ideas for effects I could do were I to ever film and release a cinematic. While I wouldn't use them for explosions, I would use them for chemicals and stuff, just really pretty!
“This is the only skin that glows”
Fiber Suit has left the chat. (If color saturation is all the way up, it looks like something from tron in the dark)
Ah yeah, true.
I've been thinking the fireworks would be good to provide both lighting and confusion during enemy air raids? So if you were playing PvP and your base was attacked by enemy ships you could turn on your firework launchers to A. Make the enemy easier to see at night, B. Make it harder for your enemy to see regardless of time of day, and C. Batter around your enemy making it harder for them to line up attack runs
2015 but the only videos I can recall fondly are the roleplay series from thexpgamers
Bruh not even joking space engineers is how i discovered Steam and pc gaming, i downloaded steam to play space engineers and learned what Valve was
i think i've found out about space engineers through Soviet Womble with his bullshitteries
I think the first time I saw the game was three youtubers (Camodo gaming, Spycakes, Beautiful O.B.) Playing against each other. Then I saw Z1 Gaming play it with my dad and we both liked it. Then about a month later, My dad showed me Splisie, (a space engineer youtuber) I earned the money to buy the game and started playing it. I think it was right after the warfare II dlc. (might be wrong)
My first experience with it was getting bullied into trying the game back in late 2017 because it was on sale. One thing lead to another, and my friend dropped an entire base on my head when he cut the single support strut by accident.
2,650 hours later, I am the guy who bullies their friends into getting the game, but I at least have a bit of experience to keep them from having as hard a time learning the game as I did.
The apprentice has become the master
I've been messing with the fireworks for you!
I found out that fireworks can't hurt other fireworks launcher blocks, knowing this and thier recoil, I made a 3x3 grid, turns out when facing eachother they can propel the craft in the way the launchers are facing, while making a large mess and a mini sun that tricks the camera and makes it look night during day.
Then I made a 3x1 and added wheels instead of blocks on the corners with a battery in the middle and launches on the outer middle, and right corners and frictionless wheels on the left corners, stand this upright and you can make on of those dam buster barrel things, add a rotor in the middle and add/reverse directing and add extra fireworks facing the outside and it's a spectacle.
That got me thinking though of making a warhead like this, in theory by adding so may of these you can make an anti gravity bomb that also lags and possibly kicks anyone CLOSE to it, not simply looking at it making it a good possible warhead choice, or even putting one in your base in the halls, kicking anyone that gets 3LG blocks close to it!
And seeing how (for now) that flares/fireworks one hit players, making a 3x1 and adding fireworks facing away rather then a tire could essentially make a mine/warhead that fires 'shrapnel' like irl granaids and mines.
My experimentations are proving so many ways to use these things!!!
If we can the fireworks changed to flares then we might get some homing missiles I'm going to need everyone to tell that to Keen
the flare launcher could work well against rovers
ay no way, it was yogscast for me to. although i didnt start playing until 2 years ago
Haha, I had the game for years but never got into it until 2-3 years ago.
i found space engineers from the yogs aswell
Glad to see you back.
Glad to be back
I've just Bought the game this week and i gotta say, this game is extremely complicated but also extremely fun if you know what to do
Flare/fireworks as a flak
I've been playing this game since back when beacons were added, 3 months after the initial launch into early access. Scott Manley is where I saw first.
i remember about 3/4 years ago when i first saw a video of "nikk3" (an italian youtuber) and there i started loving this game :P
now add personal flamethrowers and axes to finish the loadout
I would love some melee weapons!
I first discover space engineers back in two thousand and fifteen by a random channel recommendation of youtube, since then i felt in love with the game but not being able to play it even today, too expansive to aford a gaming computer on my country :(
I was trying it with my friend like 1 year ago and we just dug a giant hole
iv been playing SE on and off since 2013
We really need a gun that does next to no damage to blocks for when there's boarding action but works fine on players, well my prayers have been answered - enter the flare gun
🙏Hoping it doesn't get patched
I was using the flare gun for killing spiders, but I think they nerfed it because I can't do it any more
I was so sad when they did😔
I'm thinking kinetic missiles with small grid fireworks as cluster bombs?
I like my gold suit it’s fancy
My experience with this game started when I first saw Russian youtuber Vakot Ind. His SE series was amazing
But, unfortunately, he left UA-cam (
Dude played Frostbite and decided that was it, relatable 😭
I saw a friend playing Space Engineers last year and i bought it to play with him and convinced another friend to play too. They both quit after a week and i now have 450 hours on it lol
Convincing your friends to play with you is half the challenge 😅
@@Zer0sLegion Haha yeah. I like designing big ships that need a crew so as you can imagine, testing and using them is a hassle solo lol
I actully do have
Every single space engineers skin(now)
And the ghost skin was the only one i was missing for like 3 years
I have most of them it's just very click intensive buying them on steam.
@@Zer0sLegion
I just did it the ole fashiond way
Fun fact: flare guns ricochet off blocks semi-predictably and can still insta kill on a ricochet
FIREWORK ENGINE!
i had that ghost skin for ages and i just found out its really unique and very rare
I've been trying to get Keen to rerelease it for ages, I was so jealous of the few people that had them
it feels less special now
the first time i s discovered space engineers was that yogscast video
A fellow Yognaut
5 full months and no video 😢
Back now!
How are you bro been watching all your videos. So cool
Thanks!
I already see the first mod that gives the flares 100x damage.
(Metaphorical.)
I was gonna make them explode on impact but that works too.
i want to see one that has a nuclear bomb ammo for firework launcher (basically fires a bunch of little nukes)
I think the flare gun is most likely going to have to be reworked to make it function more like it's intended to.
However, I think it's a good opportunity to pressure queen into making more unique fun weapons. So the way the flare currently functions could be reworked into a fully fledged weapon in the form of a ricochet grenade launcher, maybe with more expensive ammo.
These more unique options based the unique physics are on of the things lacking from SE.
I'd imagine the lack of physics based weapons is due to clang related issues lol
I've been playing SE for just under a year. The game isn't without its problems, but it is still an amazing game nonetheless. You can build so many amazing things!
Anvi pack is still up $1.99, 11/16
So... Firework-driven spacecraft?
I kinda wanna try that now 😅
can you create a ship propelled by knockback from fireworks when shooting itself?
It would be a bumpy ride but yes!
Are you using any mods to change the light/brightness for your game? Im on Earth and the day ist way too bright, feels like staring at the sun. The nights are not dark at all.
This is just vanilla.
Could fire works work as a missile screen?
I doubt it.
i think that flaregun is rly cool but most of people just change time when its night 😅
I sleep at night.
I took out a MiG-41 with the Flare gun in my first 2 Hours of playing by distracting the pilot💀💀💀
Flare gun vs Rockets
Now that's an idea!
Nice

the turrets do actually target fireworks and flares, perhaps you didn't properly configure the turret?
I double, triple checked the settings. I guess I'll try again 🤷♀️
@@Zer0sLegion yeah it might just be buggy, it worked for me but it might have been taken out of the game, who knows🤷
Most op weapon
It is, for now anyway
Perfectly balanced
If I had a nickel for every space game that added fireworks on its anniversary I’d have 2 nickels. Granted 2 isn’t a lot but it’s weird it happened twice.
Funnily enough, KSP's fireworks also are commonly used to emulate weaponry. With the KAL overlocking tech, you can even literally make them practical.
I get why the flare gun is so effective against characters. Think of a flame thrower. That is deadly to characters. Fire is effective against living beings but not bery useful against metal.
Flares don't shoot fire as far as I'm aware, I think that's just in Far Cry.😅
Whered you go?
👀
