Thanks for the review, Captain! Here are some things to note with the QBR Platform for all who are interested: (1) Up and down controls are inverted. This can be fixed by changing the CTC's elevation slider to the opposite side. (Positive to Negative / Negative to Positive) (2) The turret only has 45 degrees of elevation, stock. (you can freely change this by removing the half armor plates covering the hinges on top of the turret, and increasing the hinges max angle) I chose the 45 degree angle because I liked having the little bit of extra armor covering the turret hinges, but at the end of the day it's preference. (3) These bases are definitely more of a multiple platform defense kind of thing. Multiples spread out will help negate the issues of just one turret platform. (4) GATLING TURRETS MUST BE MANUALLY LOADED. They are fully stocked on spawn in, though. (5) Interior is simple since it was designed to allow AI to completely control the Platform, figured a really nice interior wasn't really needed. lol Anyways.. Enjoy the build Engineers!
This sounds like a great ground-to-atmosphere weapon. I think if you wanted to use these in a story, some ideas would be: -Have them strategically placed (Would recommend 3) and guarding a special location (Factory, HQ, Launch Pad, Excavation, etc.) -An onsite shield generator protecting them, making aerial assault unadvisable. -A dedicated Air Wing to protect against smaller craft. -Have the invaders do a ground assault (Stealth: Advisable) - A deadline to up the stakes: Optional Just an idea. If anyone has others, I would like to hear them.
I love it, would love to see a few of these marking the location of a deep underground base. Put a conveyer and simple pathway from each with a few checkpoints into the underground base. Then far off at the cliff face, have the hangar for launching strike craft and bombers. It's a great high defense base. you could even add it into one of your survival series. I love the whole "it's been abandoned for about 200 years or so, but if we push to the core, we can get new design features and maybe even a base to use in case of emergencies. Could find an transport at the very end filled with tons of valuable and rare resources, But you need to fight to one end of the base, digging through collapsed corridors, and repair doors to get the codes for the main hangar, then fight to the hangar to put in the codes and take off with the old clanker of a ship loaded to overflowing with munitions uranium or other valuable tools and or designs.
This looks _very_ nice. If I were to use it, I would probably repaint it to a drab grey or something like that, and maybe even use a concrete skin on the lower parts, but that's just my preference. It would be cool to see three of these installations take on a small assault group of ships, to get a feeling for how they would perform in a "realistic" scenario.
I love seeing smaller platforms like this. I would want some smaller ones that are cheaper and meant to be placed around a larger base, similar to the turret bases dotting the pirate sectors on planets in Empyrion. I love the leapfrogging typically required for attacking those zones, as you deactivate the turret power source and eventually secure an entry point for a ship; I even tried trench warfare, but the shooting AI for that game is more pinpoint at max range than spray and pray of Space Engineers... even homing missiles are sure hits... Would like to see Jack try and hit this base though, with the orbital cannon from Final Fantasy (apparently there was a movie with it?). Not sure if the cannon would disable the main gun though, as it fires a dummy round from orbit, and even with a speed mod I am unsure it would deal decent enough damage to the base.
The turret is actually going to be used on a ship, that's why I designed the 'XBM21' in the first place. I just wanted another reason to use the turret, so the QBR platform was created. haha

Make a Battleship using those. Aka look how WWII battleships were built, and mirror the turrets to bottom since this is a space ship
@@The_White_Warlordwhat about a Venator / ISD style capital ship with those
@@Eggmayor too much venators and isds per square meter 🤣
@@The_White_Warlord btw my venator is something like 500k pcu, and yes, the entire private server i play on hates me for that 😂
Howcome the gatlings are not connected to conveyors? That seems impractical, what is the benefit?
7:10 taking out 3 ships with 1 shot?! I'll take your entire stock!! 😂
I play on xbox and my hydrogen turn off when it comes to heavy hits but when it crashes it turns back on which I think is similar situation to this

Too bad the rails arn't set up for ripple fire. Might be more effective.
Why dont use multiple turrets and not only one?
I think it’s meant to be a more heavy Battery more for a heavier punch for capital ships
1. PCU can overload quite easily with that (as an Xbox player)
2. One turret is easily more logistically friendly than an array of them.
@@areallycoolwindow Fun fact:The xbox beta version of space engineers had unlimited pcu

That railing held back the entire ship, you just got saved by OSHA

Awesome defense station man!
Not what I expected but exactly what I asked for
the gattling turrets need to be further out and a tad higher for better firing arcs.
technically yes but I prefer the tighter, more compact look. :)
Captain jack is my childhood
I belive that if rwi had these turrets during the green drone war there home planets would have been able to repel the gda far more easily.
Perhaps, though the invasions were made for fun ;)

I miss the good old Star Wars battle days
Imagine if those could also be used as Capital Ship weapons

Imagine a player goes down to a planet and sees hundred of these, that’s how you control the planet
""Its coming from the planet?! Change course set thrusters to f..... vessel signature lost"
Where are the solar panels at?
But what if an hostile ship is in orbit would it be able to bring it down
0:42 challenge accepted
Love this! What other weapons could be effective?
Will you make this on survivors
It reminds me of the siege tanks from starcraft
Is it possibly to make ai shoot 1 by one at a time using ai blocks? Like make it shoot every 2 secs
Those railguns are detailed & decent but they're not as fast doe. 👌✅
Tried using this against Reevers, lol and orks actually both just crash into it and takes it out first ship LOL
I think the other two ships may have been dampened reletive to the one you shot.
Cool cannon go brrrrrrr
(Edit: also im third comment)
Why not try missiles that is hidden inside a mountain, so the terrain can be used as armor
I wish someone would build anty capital ship missile and silo to launch it from
Second love your vidy
