Running one right now, pulling 24 row 22" White 9500 planter. Very smooth ride at planter speeds, until you ride over large rock barely poking out of the ground, turns into a wild ride!
It's been ages since I've seen anyone working a field at an angle . We usually worked our fields using a disk then a field cultivator both at angles ahead of the planter . Thanks for your great video and your work always finding the great equipment
The tracks spread out the tractors weight of the tractor and reduce compaction of the soil. They over extra tractor and allow for more speed in the field.
@@bigtractorpower I looked for map of Monroeville, and it is near Ft. Wayne, in northeast Indiana nearer Ohio. ????? it would not be west central Indiana there
@@bigtractorpower that would've been my next guess, because of the water tower. The two US highways I occasionally use both run through that county, and I've seen water towers around there. Thanks for the info.
Jason, thanks for another one of your excellent videos. I get the impression that the 9630T could pull at least another 20 feet wider of that tillage implement.
The 9630T has plenty of power. It could run 45ft well. Although a 30ft at 3 sections provides a good even finish where the five sections tend to float a little on the outside wings.
@bigtractorpower it has been an incredibly good tractor to us. Unfortunately it's head gasket went, so we had to bust out our 'Big tractor power' case 1070. We just got it, but it seems good.
I’ve often wondered why these tractors need 6 reverse gears. The last tractor I ran on our farm in the 80’s was a 4640 with the 8 speed power shift. I don’t remember much need to have so many reverse gears.
It is a good question. I imagine it does not hurt to have them if you are pushing silage to have a faster option than reverse to hook up an implement or to work corner of a field.
@@bigtractorpower Yeah, I’d think in tight situations like hooking up an implement or backing a 30’ field cultivator into the corner of a field you’d want to take it slow and easy. Even backing out of a long shed I don’t think going 10-15 mph is very smart. Maybe there’s enough room in the transmission case to throw in a few more cogs and then claim bragging rights over the red tractors. Even with the number of fwd gears on our 4640 I only used 5th for the field, 8th to get home, R and P when I put it in the shed. 🤷 Seems like overkill but it might be useful for some operations.

The angle sure helps work the stalks up.
That's just about my favorite tractor. Always liked that particular style from JD. Doing tillage makes it even better.
The 30 series are great tractors. Last of the emission free models.
30 series has always held a special place in my heart as well, first tractor I ever drove.
Just don't listen to one at a cold idle, they sound like the pistons are rattling apart
We run 5, 9630Ts for tillage in WNY. They’re work horses and can’t beat the ride of them.

Why are you so bothered by it
Industrial machine racing the weather to get the crop in on time. This tractor is 17 years old. It has been a good investment.
The 9X30 series were great looking tractors.

those two machines are the best you can buy only thing i would get diffrent is get a 45 foot kuhn
The 9630T can run larger for sure. I mention in the video this is an extra machine on the farm to get more acres covered.

I stand corrected the 5488 will turn 40 next year
Case IH will turn 40 on November 26 this year.
The 5488 was first produced in 81. Ceased production in 85.
I have no idea where you got 40 years from.

And here I am pulling a 10ft disk with a 53 Allis Chalmers wd45 like a sucker.
The WD45 is one of the all time great tractors.
