@@BellsFarming YES so fine it blows when dry and is about 30 ft deep (or until you hit water which can be 1 ft down) we bought a farm that had blown for years and put most of it back to grass as we were putting a corner post in for a corral around a big stock tank we hit the top wire of a 4 barb fence:)
I am surprised that the small chain you used didn't break. I have switched to 100% synthetic rope to replace all chains and cables that we used for towing and vehicle rescue work. The synthetic rope is lighter in weight, easier to lug around, doesn't rust, it is much stronger, and most importantly, it doesn't whip lash when it breaks. I would look into synthetic rope.
@@BellsFarming Always a good idea to fix something along the towing line, whether chain, strop, cable or rope to act as a whiplash brake. Spare wheel, tarp etc. Multiples for such a long chain. Well worth taking a training course on this as you're on soft land.
Don’t think this is the last time you get stuck. If you’re working off pavement you will get stuck. You might even get stuck on pavement when snow or ice are present. Thanks for your videos. Jerome Manhattan Ks.
I can see how this could happen to anyone in farming. Shane was so sure of how to get you out I am sure he has had his own experiences of doing the same. Life is good. Happy you are safe.
It happens, my goodness we get a tractor stuck every year it seams. five years ago I had enough, and the farm invested in a Yankam ropes and boy let me tell you what that thing is a game changer so I don’t know if that something that your Farm is able to invest in or not, but they work very good.
@@BellsFarming farmers, loggers are "tough to dead" out West loggers slang. Logged in the British Columbia Coast mountains, dumped many a 5'+ tree with 090 Stihls chuckled when I saw the feller buncher come to your rescue.
Glad it was fairly easy to get out. When using any tow device, either rope or chain, it’s a good practice to throw a coat or blanket over the middle section. Just in case(heaven forbid) the chain breaks, the coat will diminish its momentum and prevent damage. I saw a heavy cable break once, and it missed someone’s head by mere inches, and wound up taking out half a wall on the end of a small barn.
That's what I was going to say. I had a friend get killed when a chain snapped while pulling out a buried tractor. It went through the back of the cab and hit him in the head.
In a previous video you mentioned going back up to Aroostook sometime. I would suggest you check out the Maine Potato Blossom Festival. I believe its the end of July in Fort Fairfield.
Oy yoy yoy, the things some people do to get good youtube content! 😄 That came out easier than I thought it would, good thing it was sand and not heavy gumbo. It happens to the best of us, welcome to the club!
When you make an oops, you do it right! To be honest I drove off road in a mixer and dump for years. Quite often we just wouldn't go off road if it was iffy, but I've been stuck before and sandy soil like that is more unpredictable than most of the soil around Ohio. It looks dry or stays damp and if the ground underneath is soaked you drop like a rock. You can't stop and back out so I feel for you but it won't be the last time!
It did look pretty bad but you and Shane made it look easy that yellow machine is pretty powerful very good content we love all your videos they're all interesting thanks very much
I'm a big fan of the Yankum ropes now. Back in the day the manure spreader wagon would get stuck, same time in spring, ground still wet and soggy. we'd unhook wagon and get tractor out on dry land, then hook chains together and drag it out. usually emptied manure first make it lighter. Been right were you are kiddo!

nice parking job! 🤣 yeah, it sucks getting anything stuck, but still gave many a good chuckle, with wishes it gets pulled out easily. 😉
Thank you! Luckily it wasn’t a bad one. Just looked bad! I’m glad I was able to make you laugh a little 😁 thank you for watching and commenting.
Anytime you operate equipment and you do it long enough your gonna bury it. It's all in the learning curve. Mint video Molly thx! 🐾🚜
Thank you!
I love how you stay positive and see the funny side of farming life. As many have commented it’s only those who do nothing who don’t get into problems, good video and well done to Shane and yourself for working through a little problem!
Thank you! Stuff happens! Being positive and making light of things makes everything go better. No one likes a grumpy goose! Hahah thanks you very much for watching and commenting. 🚜😊💚
got stuck a LOT of times we used to farm some "sugar sand" fields pulled a couple of cylinders apart on our disk pulling backwards with the disk all the way up. i have heard of people pulling combines and tractors apart when stuck!!! good luck and stay dry from OKlahoma
Sugar sand! That’s new one! I like it. Thank you for watching and sharing your experiences! 🚜💚
Thank you for the recommendation!
Well done without to much pain! Keep on trucking.😅
Yeah it came out very easy!
@@BellsFarming an best no damage, 😅🐓
I can see how this could happen to anyone in farming. Shane was so sure of how to get you out I am sure he has had his own experiences of doing the same. Life is good. Happy you are safe.
Hahah yeah he made quick work of it!
Damn Molly, when I saw the notification I figured clickbait then started watching the video and said “ holy shit kid you sunk it good “
Hahah 110% 😁
It happens, my goodness we get a tractor stuck every year it seams. five years ago I had enough, and the farm invested in a Yankam ropes and boy let me tell you what that thing is a game changer so I don’t know if that something that your Farm is able to invest in or not, but they work very good.
You are the second person to recommend one. We will look into it! Thank you.
You don’t learn if you don’t make mistakes, mistakes makes you a better person to make yourself better than you were yesterday
Keep moving forward
Very true! And if you don’t try new thing you will never excel
Yupp been there too, go logging in the winter in the past, even rolled a few skidders. Grateful for seat belts.
Yikes! Glad you were alright!
Wow! Thanks for the advice! I know these things, but it’s always good to hear the stories to make you remember again.
That's what I was going to say. I had a friend get killed when a chain snapped while pulling out a buried tractor. It went through the back of the cab and hit him in the head.
@@shanepetit what I witnessed was inches from the same thing. RIP for your friend.
Been there ! I almost thought Shane was going to get the hydro -ax buried for a minute. But came out pretty easy. good video
Yeah Keith, he thought the hydro axe wasn’t going to work. He was not very confident! Haha
Been there, done that. I got a John Deere 4020 so buried discing I was able to step over the cowel. Got to watch out for field sharks!
Hahahaha 🦈
@@BellsFarmingThank God you didn't ruin those jeans! 😅
In a previous video you mentioned going back up to Aroostook sometime. I would suggest you check out the Maine Potato Blossom Festival. I believe its the end of July in Fort Fairfield.
Yes! I think it starts july11 this year! I plan on going one day for sure!
Oy yoy yoy, the things some people do to get good youtube content! 😄
That came out easier than I thought it would, good thing it was sand and not heavy gumbo. It happens to the best of us, welcome to the club!
Hahah thanks! It does make good content though your right
Well done lady, pity we don't have farmers in Ireland 🇮🇪 that look like you. I would be volunteering to help you every day 😂
Hahaha thank you
That sucks your tractor got stuck. At least you got it freed.
Yeah it’s wasn’t so bad! That spot has gotten two tractors and a loader so far
@@BellsFarming wow that’s crazy.
Hahah you’re right I’m sure it will happen again soon, ha! Let’s just hope I wait until next seasons 😁😁
It did look pretty bad but you and Shane made it look easy that yellow machine is pretty powerful very good content we love all your videos they're all interesting thanks very much
Thank you very much! Shane really makes everything look easy! Thank you for watching our videos! 🚜💚😊
Thanks for the support! I will look into the ropes!
Molly...I think, that I speak for a vast majority. We are glad you are alright!
Can I get a show of hands? 😊
Hahahahha yes only my pride was hurt!
Hey Molly, Don't feel bad, everyone gets stuck once in awhile. I got a cat stuck once years ago, it took a long time to get it out, months. 😢
Oh no! Thanks for your support 🫶
It happens to all of us, most important thing everyone is safe and no damage. Thanks for the videos and stay safe.
Yes
Hi! I am posting this comment on behalf of my four-year-old son, Avi, who is tractor obsessed and loves your videos. Here is his message:
“Hi Molly! Hi Shane! Thank you for your videos. I love watching them. And I have a toy tractor at home! 🚜” - Avi
This is great! Thank you so much for posting this comment! Tell Avi we both say hello and are very thankful that you like the videos. Keep playing with your tractors and hopefully one day you will get to drive a big one! 🫶🚜🌱👍🏻😁
We used to put a truck tire in the chain or cable set and snatch on em. The tire would stretch out and give a ridiculous amount of tension
Good idea
Need to check the pins on the lift arms. The right side is almost out and the nut on the bolt on center tooth is backed off. Glad you got unstuck.
Ha! You are right, I notice that the next morning!
Everyone who farms any size of land gets stuck and nearly everyone gets out without needing to call in the Ron Pratts and Heavy D's 🙂I think you did a great job getting it free!
Thank you!
Isn't it nice that youtube brings people together ?
I didn't expect to see those names but I did.
Got me. I subbed. People think that folks with mega farms never get in trouble. That's a real pickle there. Enjoyed watching the process. Time to stop fooling around and get to work!
@@walkingthruyourdata-6019 hahah thanks for subscribing, back to work!
Don't beat yourself up, it happens and if it looks dry on top you go with that till you know different.
Morning the weather isn't bad right now, partly cloudy and sunny temp about 60, was 50 this morning had some rain over the weekend grass growing like crazy, will have to mow later when it dries off, the wife drove her 180 Allis for first time since ankle tendon repair last week, grain is up at different farms in the area, I believe it is oats or maybe barley potato planting moving right along, and thats the report from the county, at least my part. Dave D.
Thanks for the update! Hope your wife’s ankle recovery goes well! Tendon stuff takes a long time to heal! Have a wonderful day!
I have been lucky. Clay, loam, pretty easy to navigate. Sand happens SO FAST! 5 seconds, you can go from 'everything's fine' to Oh crap! Do like she did, get a pull out.. Good job.
Thank you! 💚🚜
Nice recovery, I would suggest you look into one of the kinetic ropes, much better than chains, would have come out in one pull, once you use ropes you never go back to just chains, I started using the ropes 40 years ago, but she came out pretty good
Yeah it did come out pretty easy! Will look into one of those ropes.
@@BellsFarming you won’t be sorry the big ones rated for your tractor are spendy, but so is lost time planter and field prep, I grew up on milk farm, stir run crops but no longer milk cows
Molly that is what I call temporarily immobilized, its what we would say when trail riding with Jeeps when we got stuck. Dave D.
Ha! How’s the weather up there?
Molly and Shane! When. You guys do something, you don't mess around! Lol it looked like you were going to have to get a much bigger machine to get it out. Great job at solving another issue! I tried to post a new song but UA-cam kept deleting my comment so maybe next time! Great video!
Thank you!!
I AM WONDERING WHY SUCH A DOWN TO EARTH HARD WORKING,HANDS ON LABOR INTENSIVE PERSON, SUCH AS YOURSELF, KEEPS THEIR HAIR SO LONG ? WOULDN'T IT BE BETTER TO WEAR MUCH SHORTER AND SAFER LENGTH FOR THE WORK YOU ARE INVOLVED WITH DAILY ? I HOLD MY BREATH ABOUT YOUR HAIR GETTING ENTANGLED IN THE NUMEROUS PIECES OF EQUIPTMENT YOU COME IN CONTACT WITH DAILY ! DO NOT WANT TO SEE YOU MAIMED ! LET ME KNOW IF I AM TOO CONCERNED ! JUST AN EIGHTY FIVE YEAR OLD DAD OF A DUAGHTER 59, A SON 64 ! YOU CERTAINLY ARE A LOVABLE PERSONALITY !
Thank you very much for your concern! It’s very sweet! I promos that wearing it this length is easier because I can keep it out of my face! That’s why I wear hats too. 🫶🚜😊💚
I got stuck in that very same tractor in “hidden quick salad” and had to get a big dozer to pull me out. Part of farming. Keep heave tow straps handy.
@@Buddhistview145 I’m so glad the tractor came out easily! It looked like a nightmare, I need ones of those ropes! Thanks for commenting.
Ya'll need some heavy duty kinetic ropes from Yankum Recovery Ropes! :D they have some doozy's be a good sponsor if ya had them lol. Farming isn't farming if ya dont get stuck at some point.
LOL Molly well done, i have been there too and yes it really SUCKS but it is al part of farming
you should get some yanking rope to help you out next time
have an awesome day al the way here from Denmark
Hey! Thanks for the positive comment! We should get one of those ropes, lots of people have suggested them! Thank you for watching have a wonderful day🚜💚😊
Gotta respect a girl who walks about with a tie chain casually swung over her shoulder 👍

Let me tell you a story, one time long time ago, I drove into a puddle of water going out of my yard that I had then, and my fork lift all terrain towable, fell down to its top side of its axle, I had to let it dry up ( the mud hole for 4 months,) 75 ton wrecker could not pull it , out, ,,, finally it dried out enough,I drove it out of the mod hole, thanks BigAl California.
Hahah that sounds like a mess! We all do it! Thanks for the story Al!
