I think she did really well for her first time. Just remember you probably started doing this kind of work when you were only 8 or 10 and on very much equipment. You will make her a farmer yet.

Started using a case 35 ft speed tiller a couple of years ago. Does a great job under the right conditions.....doesn't like mud, doesn't like sod. We run around 8 mph (rocks) and have found that too deep equals a plugged-up rear gang. We also do all our tilling at a kidder to keep the fields level for soybeans. We do mostly no-till now so the speed till sits a lot. Great channel!

That's a big tractor and implement to learn on. There is a lot to watch, a lot to learn. He also said that you were doing the very same things that he did when he was learning. Remember that he has a hundred other things on his mind right then, and he most likely is trying to figure out where he missed it when he was 1st shiwing you.
I have had quite a variety of jobs. The hardest one was teaching someone else how to do my job, it didn't matter which job it was. We all learn thousands of little steps in a task that we do without thinking about them much if at all. Then when we show someone how to do that same job we forget those little steps, and each one is like getting stung by a bee when we realize that you didn’t do something because we didn’t tell you about that something. That's when we look like we're mad at you, when in fact we are mad at ourselves because we forgot. Yep, it's a vicious circle, but that's the way teaching and learning goes.
Believe me, if we had a running narrative about the entire process that we are teaching both of us would get frustrated and bored. "Is this person ever going to shut up", "They think that they know everything", "Are they really bored with me", "Are they paying attention to what I am saying".
What we take as simple is made to look simple because that person has done that thing until they can do it without seemingly paying attention because they know what to look for. Proper processed experience appears seamless because of the chaos that they went through getting there. A job well done is easier than a job first learned or seen.
You both did good. A lot of little pieces to be picked up.

Excellent job, Emily! But I think your instructor left some things out of his instructions... Avery, you have to cover all the bases, think about potential problems, and then let her run it. Best case, all is perfect. Worst case, it isn't. I've taught a few people how to do similar things, and I learned that most do the best when you let them do it, not under a watching eye. Great job, Emily, and great video!

That is an impressive machine. How much bigger will equipment manufacturers continue to make tilling machines? It's great that the tractor has a buddy seat. Driving a tractor is a skill that takes lots of on the job training. That's definitely a rookie mistake clogging the tilling cutters and the tolling leveling parts. When gathering dead vegetation and soil the machine becomes a blade instead of a cutting and leveling implement.

3I don't see a ring on her finger son . When i started dating my future wife she made a comment that we never went out on a day time date . Welp i solved that by telling her to ware OLD jeans and a OLD tee shirt and we would have a day time date . My buddy and i had 25 acres of hay down with rain ah coming . SOOOOO i gave her a crash course on the operation of a Farmall 450 Diesel and a 269 New Holland baler and we had a day time date , She ran the tractor while i stacked the wagon. Next thing i did was teach her how to shoot being she was one of them thar late sixty early seventy's Hippy girls who0 was totally anti gun . Told her you love me you love my tractors and my guns , That was 53 years ago and we are coming up on the big 50 of years together
