Thanks so much I got from £3200 to £1580… you’re the best, my sleepless night stopped when I saw your video and I have to comment even though I’ve never commented on UA-cam before
Insurance prices in the UK genuinely shock me. I live in Czech Republic and when I got my first car (2019 Ford Focus), my insurance was about 1000 EUR/year for Full Comp with zero experience at 23 y.o.. Almost 10k GBP for an old Vauxhall is insane
honestly I was stressed out before watching this video. one of the quote i had went down from £1700 to £1200 only from changing the date. thanks a gazzillion!!!
I just applied for my first years insurance on a 2014 Fiesta Ecoboost. I'm 28 and currently living up north, but I was originally due to move to London this month. My friend put in a quote for me a few months ago, for South London, in a relatively nice and quiet residential area I was looking at moving to, and got quoted about £4500 Up in Liverpool, Mum as a named driver, 5000 miles a year (might need to up that...), 21 days in the future, full comp, excess £850 - managed to get it down to £1500, which is honestly about the maximum I would ever want to pay. Imagine saving £400 a month to go towards car insurance on top of the cost of rent, bills, food????? I picked an excellent time to finally pass my test lol
Choosing an unusual car is a huge one. I've just inusred my first car - an 06 MX5 Mk3 2.0L. Paying around £800. If i were to choose a bog standard fiesta it would be double. I am 27 though and living up north, so this will have quite an impact on the price but the advice still stands !
i’m looking to buy the same car right now, do you have any other tips on reducing the insurance, i live up north too but unfortunately i’m 18 so insurance companies are not fond of me
@@eduardpruteanu6787 do you live in london by any chance? Insurance sucks for us🥲 your address seems to be the main factor, but this vid helped me lower the insurance by a couple thousands pounds. Still a lot though😭

Once you've found the car that you want, you want to then get on your phone get off the wifi and use you data and get an insurance quote with your real details. I tried the whole icognito mode not that long ago and after a while, insurance quotes I was getting was more than double what they originally were. Another tip I learnt from a colleague is that these sites potentially get a commission or percentage. Many times, calling up to the insurer directly, can get you a cheaper quote! Since the insurance won't have to pay the site for the referral commission or whatever. Not a salesman myself but you get the gist
Actually a really nice idea. Issue is, I've tried this in the past and ended up getting the exact same quote after like 20 mins on the phone going through all the details again. Maybe someone might get lucky
I got a worse quote by going straight to the insurer. It's also arguable that insurance companies try to be more competitive if you go on comparison websites.
