Thanks so much! Here's a breakdown: - Clear your search history and cookies every time you look for insurance. On price comparison sites as well. - Adding another driver who’s more experienced (you must be the main driver, don’t lie) - Get a dash cam - Try different job titles (don’t lie) to see if that changes things - Add another driver - Use multiple comparison sites - Start your policy later if it saves you money - Set your excess higher - Keep mileage low (don’t lie) - Consider a lease (includes of the insurance) - Create a new email address for the quote (when you’re ready to buy) - Pass Plus doesn’t work anymore - Look for cars in low insurance groups (1 is the lowest): Fiat Panda, Ford KA, Hyundai i10, Kia Picanto, Nissan Micra, SEAT ME, Skoda Fabia, Smart 44, VW Polo, VW Up, VW Fox, Citron C1, C2… etc. - Install it with an immobiliser or alarm (Thatcham) - Ask about discounts - Join a group about driving safety - Pay annually
Absolute legend! Yh now that I have passed my test, insurance has sky rocketed! It's honestly crazy! Btw had my first solo drive today and it went really well - commentary as always! Felt weird being alone in the car but it was amazing! Thanks for the amazing content Francis, please keep it up! 😊
Here’s a weird tip. I was being quoted £250pm for my first car insurance. On the same quote, I added breakdown cover and the price went down to £189pm!
As much as we want cheap insurance make sure you are getting the same value for money. So some will be just the insurance where others will have added things included like break down cover insurance protection higher legal advice cover . It will then safe you having to buy these separately if you wish and may work out cheaper than buying separately
Thank you. I’m currently car shopping 🙏🏾 and I’m considering leasing too, so much cheaper and I like the flexibility of having to change cars every 3-5 years.
Tip 2 from Emma, naming an experienced driver as main driver and you as 2nd driver is problematic. If you are the main driver then you are "fronting" this is fraud and will invalidate your insurance AND you will lose your premiums if you need a claim (which will be declined and policy avoided), this will have a knock on effect on any future policies you need also.
@alphadanger2223 yeah that's a different problem tbh. u gotta decide if its worth it bc imagine ur insurance gets reduced from 5k to 2k if ur parent is the main driver? then you'd rather just do it
@@jermaine___ the difference for me wasn't anywhere near that big tbh only 200 less so definitely not worth it for me but yeah i guess if it's 5k vs 2k then i understand people considering it
I am at the beginning of my "investment journey", planning to put 85K into dividend stocks so that I will be making up to 30% per year in dividend returns. Any advice?
Investing without proper guidance can lead to mistakes and losses. I've learned this from my own experience. If you're new to investing or don't have much time, it's best to get advice from an expert.
The issue is people have the "I want to do it myself mentality" but not equipped enough for a crash, hence get burnt. Ideally, advisors are reps for investing jobs, and at first-hand encounter, my portfolio has yielded over 300% since 2020 just after the pandemic to date.

When passed i planned to get quote off my learner insurance company and i told them id just had dash cam fitted to which he told me as a new driver with dash cam they wouldn't insure but couldn't tell me why dash cam made me uninsurable. I went with esure in end. No discount but best insurance quote I could get at just over £1000 for a year.
Hi Francis, thank you for this video. I passed my test last week and taking my time to research on insurance and leasing a car. Would appreciate if you could give tips on leasing a car?
I was quoted £5000 to drive my 2012 mini as soon as I passed my test. I spoke to my work and they put my car on their fleet policy and me as the named driver for it and my insurance went down to £650. Lifesavers!
I just passed my driving test 2 days ago and me and my dad were looking to insure me on his car which is a 2016 toyota yaris hybrid automatic and we get quotes for £2174 with black box and 3.5k without blackbox 😠 I hope the government can sorts this out!
£6000? i got quotes for £17000!!!!!!! it is a jock, literally all the time and money i put to learn driving and get my car and now i cannot pay the insurance. it is horrible.
Good editing admin.😮 You know it is bad when Francis has to make another video after the previous one on this channel over a year ago. 😅 Cars in low insurance group is true. Category group one.
I did a just add fuel with Peugeot when I was 18 and it was SO worth it! Don’t think they do it anymore but I think Vauxhall do something very similar! Having my dad on my insurance brought mine down a lot because he drives for a living even with me as the main driver. I would also personally not scrimp on certain things such as protecting your no claims bonus, I got his by a driver with no tax and no insurance and it saved me SO much and it has decreased my insurance over time! As annoying as it is, there is just not much you can do about the insurance rates at the moment, I rang my insurance company to ask why my insurance quote had gone up by £300 even with an extra year no claims and they told me there’s too many people in my area who are uninsured which seems unfair because I actually do pay for mine😅 I did get NHS discount though which they don’t offer on the app!
Francis, please, I haven't bought my own car yet. I passed my test in a car manual three months ago. Can I add my name to my girlfriend's automatic car insurance for now until I get my own car in the future. Thanks.

but it shouldn't be a problem if you make the experienced driver drive the car more? that's the solution

May I ask which insurance company you are with

Hastings insurance doesn't give a damn if you've got dashcam, the rate does not go down.

Damn that is SO lucky! I’ve done this before too and the only drawback is you’re not building up no claims bonus on a fleet policy
I watched one of your driving test tips videos a day before and I just passed my test first time today! Thank you for the advice, I appreciate it ❤️
Omg congraaaats!!!! 🤩
Really grateful for these videos!
if you cannot be insured as an additional driver, try temporary driver insurance.

That advice was gold dust. I've renewed with a different company because the previous was charging me nearly 180 per month. Such a bloody rip-off.

The day your brought your car, try it you buy the car few days ago will cost more

O% interest credit card pay off insurance monthly without the intrest
Oh actually that’s a REALLY good idea to not have the pay monthly penalty if you don’t have the money to pay it all in one go

Auto insurance costs more than manual
that is a crazy story tbh
