Welcome to Taiwan for traveling. Taiwan is a great country. I believe you will have a great time and have wonderful memories that you will never forget. 🇹🇼😊
I love to see your reactions for the first experience, even some spots and food we have not experienced, it’s like we are traveling with you. How cute couple you are!😍
Comparing to travelers who only stick on the street foods, you do know how to enjoy the voyage by taking good stuffs, the bullet train, a nice hotel which provides delicate foods, a thumbs up for you!
We actually mostly eat sit down meals. They just aren’t on camera haha. Eating and filming is easier for us on the go ☺️ but yes the food was great and we really enjoyed our stay! Cheers.
Fun fact: my eldest sister was senior engineer who was part of development and construction of the bullet train. She was based in Kaohsiung is now Canadian living in Calgary. We did a few bullet train trips in Europe last month and think it's the best way to travel.
I was also based in kaohsiung for the construction of the high speed rail and I have never left after that! Love the place! It is a hidden gem for people that love the outdoors cycling, hiking, sailing etc
@@Trust_but_VerifyYes, at 20:00 in the video, it is stated that eating and drinking are not allowed in MRT. If a baby needs to eat, it is allowed, but only milk😊 Or you can use the baby room at the MRT station. There are 41 stations have baby room. If you are in the station without baby room, you can ask for help at information center. Hope this information is helpful to you. And it’s okay to eat on the high-speed rail.
Next time you take the train or high speed rail comeback to Taipei, don't forget to try the super popular railway bento boxes in Taiwan. I would recommend the pork chop flavor 😋 they usually sell them at the station or on the train.
Welcome to Taiwan! 🥳 But one thing to remind you, you can eat and drink on Taiwan’s trains and high-speed rails, but you will be fined for eating on the MRT. I wish you a happy trip and memories.☺️
next time try the Taiwan Railroad Bento Meal Box on the HSR or any other train service, since you are allow to eat & drink on the train. except on the buses and MTR(subway). If you have time, try visit the outer islands. Enjoy rest of your trip in Taiwan!
THSR ticket prices are set by your destination, and are the same price between two points regardless of the number of stops. So if you are flexible with your travel plans, it's a good idea to try to pick an express train with fewer stops. The express trains with the fewest stops arrive about 40 minutes sooner than the ones that stop at all the stations. There are also several options in the middle of the range. So just be aware of that when choosing your train. If you are able to book far enough in advance, you can often find early-bird discounts of up to 35% off, but generally these discounts are only available at non-peak times.
I am not sure if you have tried it, but whenever your phone fails to reach out to the internet, you can try to put it into FLIGHT mode and put it back on to give it a chance to re-register to the local cell. Sometimes it happens when you move too fast. Anyways, love your positive energy! Good job!
I must say you two sure know how to have fun. It definitely takes the right chemistry between people that spend so much time together without wanting to killing one another. lol Cheers and thanks for the laughs..
Aw haha ❤️❤️ thank youuuu, it’s not always easy and we do argue sometimes like normal people, but it’s true that we do love spending time together and travel and get along very well. So glad you think so and enjoy watching us hehe! It’s such a fun time being able to explore the world while bringing you all along 🥰
Welcome to Kaohsiung, a beautiful sunshine harbor city, diversity with beaches, mountains, lakes and rivers. Plenty of places to explore, foods to taste and pack with histories, cultures, arts, and entertainments. Can't wait for your up coming adventures in Kaohsiung.
34:31 A lot of Taiwanese think the same way and drink the same thing daily. I think it is originally from Japan and spread to a lot of Asian countries like Taiwan, South Korea and most southeastern Asian countries.
I was born and raised in Taipei Taiwan until 1991 moved to the states, it wasn’t like this , peole were not friendly as now, we don’t have subway system like now, I visited Taiwan twice in this year , it’s a totally different country now , getting better and better
Just want to let you know, Food/Drink not allow in MRT. Most purpose is keeping clean without smell and mouse/cockroach. Anyway, glad for your coming, welcome and enjoy😄
Taiwan has three main types of rail trains. The Mass Rapid Transit(MRT) prohibits eating and drinking, including water. After you pass through the ticket gate with your ICC card(QR code ticket), you enter the area where eating and drinking are prohibited. On the other hand, Taiwan High Speed Rail(THSR) and Taiwan Railways Administration(TRA) do not have such restrictions. Just a reminder, eating and drinking on the Kaohsiung Metro can result in a fine.
I want to ask u 2 a hard question Shelby and Chase. Out of every country u 2 traveled to what is both of your favorites and the best cuisine and atmosphere in your opinion?
I use to take this train a lot for work. The MRT will now take you directly from the airport to the HRT. Was a god send as I would land and go directly to Tainan. There is also a huge outlet mall you can kill time at the Taoyuan station to kill time before your flight.
Taiwan high speed rail always flips the seats to face the direction of travel. Pity, im not in town as i would definitely have offered to take you guys around my second home Kaohsiung!
Taiwan high speed rails got started into business from 2006. At that time, smart phones hadn't been invented. People just didn't need to charge their phones as now. That's the reason the cars , which were purchased before 2006, were not equipped with the charger sockets.
These are cakes for different fillings, you can choose red beans, custard, taro, sesame, chocolate..., it's popular local treats we normally do as afternoon snacks with tea or coffee.
It’s so satisfying to see how you enjoy your meal! There’s a saying that, it’s our fault if a tourist not getting weight before they leave Taiwan! Wwwww~
Seeing all these comments on Yakult, I must recommend ordering Yakult Green Tea 多多綠 instead of Boba. You’ll likely find it at a tea shop with “50” on a yellow sign.
$50 for a high speed ticket to travel 200 miles is a bargain even if it is not a discounted ticket. Try traveling that far on a high speed train in Japan or Europe for $50.
My nephew was in Taipei about a month ago, and took the HSR for the first time. Once he got on the seat, he was asking, where is the seat belt? We were all laughing because he was thinking it the same as taking the airplane.

@@ChaseandShelbs Not sure about the latest fine for violators maybe it's NT$10,000 (US$350). The restrictions are also implemented in all metro buses.
Bro they're riding on the bullet train not MRT. That's why they sell milk tea.
