1:30 Starting Jan 2024, the tram line will be connected in a loop around the city with 37 stops. Kaohsiung is a choice destination away from harsh winter😂, on the northern hemisphere at least. Welcome to my city. Hope you’ve enjoy it.
30:01 Two houses that claim to be the originator of pearl/bubble milk tea are Chun Shui Tang and Hanlin Tea House, they even sued one another for it, but the judge ruled out that a drink is not something that one can have a patent, so the dispute never got settled and they still each claim to be the first. From my research Hanlin invented it in 1986 and Chun Shui Tang in 1987, however the pearls of Hanlin at the time seem to be white pearls, so I consider it's not the classic bubble tea so I'd say Chun Shui Tang is first.
I love my drinks to have chewy little things in them! I recommend coconut jelly, little white chewy cubes, inside black tea or fruit tea, I like it even more than the classic tapioca milk tea.
I would never consider Taiwan as a travel destination previously but you guys changed my mind. I have fallen in love with Taiwan thanks to u. I will visit Taiwan soon.
At 13:50 in the video, there are vendors selling crabs, Brazilian tortoises, and hermit crabs. They are mainly bought for children to keep as pets, not for food.
Shev & Dev:Congratulations to you guys for heading to Taipei, Taiwan this weekend in great joy to tours around the capital city & other major city on the train in November of 2023❤❤❤
Buble milk tea is absolutely from the store in Taichung rather than Tainan. I drank bubble milk tea once every week while I was a junior high school student near the store about 35 years ago. After 6 years (1989), I studied at a university in Taipei and my classmates from Taichung already drank bubble milk tea a lot, but my classmates from Taiwan's other cities didn't know about it. And then, bubble milk tea was spread out all over Taiwan and the world.
Shev & Dev:Thanks you guys so much for this new remarkable video today’s from Taipei, Taiwan to shows these amazing places & Landmarks in Southeast Asia November of 2023❤❤❤
Hi, welcome to Kaohsiung, and hope you guys enjoy the trip here. But, there is something i wanna make it clear that is the TURTLE! That little stand which sold the little turtles, the owner told you those for eating was NOT TURE. At least, as a Taiwanese, or I can say as a Kaohsiung citizen, we don't eat that! I guess the owner misunderstood what you guys were talking about!
I’m Taiwanese, my dad had bubble milk tea in 陽羨 (later called Chun Shui Tang), Taichung in the 1980s, so the teahouse you went is undoubtedly the bubble tea OG.
3:20 The train just finished all the construction and had a grand opening. Now the train is on a full circle and people can basically take the light rail train to visit most places in the outskirts of Kaohsiung city. The construction started in 2013 and just finished in last month. You just missed the completion of the project by one month. Not the light rail train has 34 stations and they are well connected to Kaohsiung subway system.
“I asked for bubble tea but they gave me clown juice instead!” 🤣I think I would enjoy the hot bubble tea, but I’m one of those that doesn’t like chewing my drink when I’ve had the cold one. I love hearing you two bantering back and forth. ❤If you think it’s sweltering in Taiwan, it must be even hotter than Thailand? 🥵San Jose, California (where I lived for 40 years) has a light rail system too and the government thinks people will use it to commute to work but it is slow (it has to stop at traffic lights). Devon: I make peanut butter noodles with a splash of sesame oil, it’s a great quick dinner; add it to your repertoire!
Hahaha I knew you would love that little joke! 🤣 I’m the same when it comes to chewy drinks but of course this one was the exception 😍 so happy you loved this one. Kaohsiung is a city you would love! But it was HOT 🥵 definitely adding “Becky’s peanut butter noodles” to the list 😍
Oh my gosh! I lived right next to Lotus Lake before, and would take walks around the lake frequently. I love it in Kaohsiung! And yes, it does get very hot/humid there. I have also lived in Taichung and loved it there also. These videos really make me miss it and I want to go back so badly!
Shev & Dev:Congratulations to you guys for your new remarkable video today’s from Taipei, Taiwan to shows these amazing places on a great trains this weekend in November of 2023❤❤❤
If u go to Chi-Jin, u can do 3 things: 1. Climb up to the hill for about 30 minutes to see the fort, light tower and the sea view. 2. Check out the black sand beach 3. Have meal in the sea food restaurants.

It is good to experience a busy daily life in the world's best cities (Tokyo, Seoul) in Korea and Japan, but I think it is also worth a trip to relax in more relaxed places such as Taiwan, Vietnam, and Thailand.
Unfortunately, wrong season to visit Kaohsiung ,even local people feels carzy hot too, this is why not much people on the street in the daytime, best travel season will be on November to April
Oh those snails with shells we called Hermit Crabs when we were in Japan! We'd collect them from the beach and put them in our pockets...then when mi mama did laundry she screamed as she found them!
Your travel vlog takes me to places I've only dreamed of visiting. Your enthusiasm for exploration is truly remarkable! By the way, have you checked out the new v4 Bento Bag and the Ikigai Backpack from NomadLane? They seem like they'd compliment your travel style perfectly.
What an awesome video! though I was wondering why you guys haven't came to Singapore yet. Hope you guys will come here and make a video of this beautiful country soon. Cheers from Singapore, Shev and Dev!
@@ShevandDev My sister lived in Singapore in the 1990's and I visited for 3 weeks. I LOVED IT! That was before they added Marina Bay Sands and all that. I was very disappointed not to be able to go there on my trip last year. I can't wait to see your series from my favorite Asian city!
Hi Shev & Dev, Great video! I enjoy watching your journey in Taiwan. Keep up with the good work.❤ BTW, those turtles, snails, frogs, etc., are sold as pets.

Nice video, overall. You really should edit out 13:27 to 13:47. I think UA-cam makes it easy to edit videos now. Otherwise, you should find a way to put words on the screen indicating that you miscommunicated with the elderly man selling the frogs, turtles, etc. He did not 'confirm' anything. I couldn't understand what he was saying at all (and I'm fairly fluent in Chinese).

China already has border disputes with over 20 countries, the modern day imperialist.

Hi, I am very curious how Taiwanese people keep their shape and health so well even after eating a lot of food in a day and most of the foods are based on carbohydrates and oil. If you really observe like 80% of Taiwanese are in good shape. If you get time can you do kind a discovery sort of thing to share the facts and secrets of those amazing people. Thank you.
