I don’t know if someone else has mentioned this, but the bombard would have been able to move and attack through the forest with the help of an unseen Great General since Great General provide units with +1 movement (allowing the bombard to move on to the forest with 1 movement to spare) as well as allowing siege units to move and attack in the same turn without the usual required promotion. Looking at the stats the bombard has at 28:13, it’s clear that the strength bonuses of the bombard must be 45 base, +5 from defender of the faith, +4 from difficulty, -5 from damaged unit, so the last bonus that brings it up to the final total 59 must be a great general.
