Running an Asus A320m-k with a Ryzen 5 5600 zen 3, 16GB Ryzen tuned Corsair Vengeance lpx 3200, 3 SSDs, 1650 super. Smooth as silk cool temps no issues. A great budget board. 5862 Bios update and its all good.
Hello. We have same motherboard and I am thinking to upgrade from Ryzen 5 4650G to Ryzen 5 5600, RTX 3060 TI, and 650 or 750 watts gold PSU. Can an Asus A320m-k handle these 2 CPU and GPU without overclocking?
@@jamesbucay7140 yes pal, the ryzen 5 5600 works fine on that board with the latest bios updates (uk board uk bios update). And the gpu is on the list of compatible cards. I would make sure that the system has good cooling solutions to keep those motherboard vrms nice and cool. I am running 2 front intake and 2 exhaust 1 top 1 rear 120mm fans and the motherboard is nice and cool and stable. The asus a320m-k board is very underrated but a beast for the money and faster than alot of b450s/b550s because of shorter traces.
There is another A320 motherboard from Asus, the "EX-A320M-Gaming", it has 4 DIMM slots, an M.2 slot capable of PCI-E/SATA, Asus Aura RGB, and heatsink on the VRMs. Currently using it because at the time of purchase, B450 was quite out of my budget. I think it's pretty ok despite most saying to avoid A320 all the time.
The board's webpage also used to say it has a maximum RAM capacity of 128GB, but since the recent BIOS updates, it was lowered down to 64GB. I thought that would be kinda interesting, but who would put 128GB RAM on an A320 anyways ahha.
@@GeorgeTech It does state in the page that ECC unbuffered memories are supported, doesn't say if it'll run in non ecc mode though like Gigabyte, as much as I remember too that all Ryzen processors unofficially support ECC memories.
This video popped up in my recomended section. Im a user of the gigabyte a320m s2h for 2 years that came with an Athlon3000g. Im using the 5600g for 2 months now and its running fine, although I did some configurations for safety. Before I changed cpu I updated the Chipsets drivers, disabled Turbo Boost, updated bios 2 times for the 4000series and Cezanne/ Vermeer support and installed a Delta Electronics Fan as VRM Cooling. So my 5600g is running at 3.9 ghz with turbo off.
Bro i have the a320m gigabyte motherboard and i want to go on a new ryzen cpu.Is it safe to upgrade the bios so it can support the ryzen 5 2600 or should i buy a new motherboard?
Can you do a r5 5600x3d on a ASrock a320 with a 7800xt and 32gb ddr4 3600 4x NVME 1gb which I am running now...its quick. I would love a comparison with FPS and frame times with said equipment. I picked up a r5 5600x non3d with a Gigabyte B550 Gaming V2 motherboard with a 3060ti zotac twin edge and 16gb of ddr4 3200. Have new Deepcpool ak620 cooler for 5600x3d and a matching Deepcool digital mid case so i will be doing these experiments myself LOL since i have to migrate the CPU's, memory, heatsinks and video cards and my trusty soundblaster Z that I still love just for the beam forming microphone and be able to use my ancient Studio monitors stereo speakers and the mic does not pick up anything but my voice .
You'd have to upgrade it if you want to run a 4000G-series Ryzen APU or 5000-series Ryzen CPU (or newer). The VRM would not be able to run a Ryzen 7 or Ryzen 9 CPU at full speed due to overheating, but will technically support them. You may need to update the motherboard's BIOS to be able to run Ryzen 3000-series CPUs. You can put any PCIe graphics card in it, but you will lose more performance if you run out of VRAM compared to boards that support PCIe 4.0. Cards like the RX 5500 XT 4GB and RTX 3070 Ti are likely to run out of VRAM, while cards with large VRAM buffers like the RTX 3060 and RX 6800 are very unlikely to ever run out of VRAM.
Hi George, the process of the downgrade its the same as upgrading bios? just in this case one per one down on the versions? (On motherboard GA-A320M-S2H)
Hey buddy, yeah it’s the same. you can even skip versions sometimes. For F40 and later you need F32 first. So, if you are on F32 or newer just update to the latest version F52. Worst case it just won’t recognize the update file. So basically it’s hard to brick this board with a wrong update order. Use Q-flash in BIOS don’t use Windows. If Windows is not up to date - install chipset drivers first.
I have an MSI A320-pro vh plus mobo and currently running an aging 2200G Planning to upgrade soon. Or maybe when prices go down. A 3600 would work just fine with the right bios update right? I don't need to get a new mobo for that chip? Btw I don't plan to overclock nor do I need PCIe gen 4 speeds since I still use a sata based ssd... XD
I run a Ryzen 5 3600, and my temps are pretty damn good (doesn’t usually go over 80 degrees Celsius when under heavy load) also, if the box your mobo came in says Ryzen 3000 ready, you don’t need a bios update, but if your box doesn’t say Ryzen 3000 ready, you will most likely need a bios update. I really hope this helps you out, and enjoy the cpu when you get it:)
@@Jamminout2465 It does need the bios update since I did get it while Ryzen 3000 wasn't even announced yet. thanks mate! Your vid has convinced me to grab one whenever prices do normalize.

Long hours would need good VRM. B550 has better spec requirements from AMD. Plans to upgrade could come up even if you're not interested at the moment. So, B550 is somewhat future-proofed til Zen4 is out. Also, this B550 board on the video has a discounted price right now on amazon. See the link in the description. If A320 is the way to go - don't worry. CPU just won't boost as much to keep the system stable for long hours of operation. Again, it's not about the chipset it's about MOSFETs Drivers Power Stages, and PWM controllers to convert and deliver a clean signal from PSU. Chipset is just a feature set - the rest which includes VRM is on manufacturers.
