I'm so pleased to see that they have kept a USB port on the machine. I'm a bit of a luddite when it comes to technology, and as I'm planning on using the machine with a desktop PC, a wired connection is just so much easier for me.
Wired means less likely to waste material

I wanted to just put this in here so if anyone else is guessing like I was and did.. YES.. YOU STILL NEED TO RE-DOWNLOAD THE SILHOUETTE STUDIO EVEN THO YOU HAVE THE SAME VS BEING RE-DOWNLOADED.. BC ITS HELPING WITH THE NEW MACHINE ITSELF, which you did say, but I was still hesitant to re-dwnld bc it was the same.. so maybe if someone else finds themselves guessing abt that too.. yes! do it again.. and THANKS for the set up and prepping the machine video tutorial!! I WOULD NOT HAVE GOT IT DONE WITHOUT YOUR HELP! YOU ARE A ROCK STAR OF THE SILHOUETTES! :) THANKS! OH... one more qu.. IF YOU happen to know... I understand they're just getting these machines out as well as the tools, but not sure who or where to normally check for these kinds of things, bc again... I WAS USING THE "2".. DINO!! but one: the ES Mat; where or who will typically have these for sale? or can you say? I FIND IT A BIT FUNNY .. I HAVE NEVER BEEN ABLE TO MOVE MY ROLLER BAR FOR MY CAMEO 2!! I COULDN'T GET IT TO TURN... AND THERE'S SO FEW VIDEOS ON THAT PARTICULAR MACHINE, WHICH I GET, BUT I'VE HAD IT FOR AROUND 3 YRS?? A LONG TIME... BUT I'VE GOTTEN PRETTY GOOD AT IT.. ONE REASON I'M SO EXCITED FOR THIS 5!.. I WAS ABOUT TO BUY THE 4 WHEN I SEEN YOUR VIDEO OF THE RELEASE.. THAT'S THE POWER OF GOD! LOL I HAD BEEN CONTEMPLATING BUYING THE 4... GLAD I TOOK MY TIME IN DECIDING! LOL

Hello, thank you for your Cameo 5 presentation, I have a question, would it be possible to record a video while working? I am curious if it is actually quieter than the cameo 4. I have the 4 and it is terribly noisy, making it impossible for me to use it in the evening when the kids are asleep. I would be very grateful to you for such a video.
Yes, it's on my list. I'll be comparing it to the CAMEO 4 cutting noise as well.
My cameo 5 is scheduled to deliver tomorrow. Yaaayyy! Ive got my silhouette studio updated and ready to go. 1st question, do the adapters for the cameo 4 work in the 5, likd for CB09 blades, etc? Wondering if i should hold on to the adapters and blades, or give to my daughter in law. Now to say, can hardly wait for the ES mat, foil tool, and embossing tool to come out!

I just got my 5 and was super excited to use it…cut a bunch of vinyl with the auto blade only to have it not cut all the way through on a lot of details. 😢 You recommended the 1mm blade, do you need to get multiple blades for different mediums? I am going from the original Cameo to the new 5!😳
No, you can use the same 1mm blade for different materials. The depth of the blade can be adjusted manually by turning the top of the blade holder to adjust the distance of the blade that's exposed
Hello, I have a problem with re-cutting again when I turn off Bluetooth or disconnect the cable because I have another device, Cameo 4. I want it to work at the same time, knowing that the program was last upgraded to Business Edition.

Yes you can still use all the same files.

Thanks so much, this saved me a lot of time! The set-up instructions got me lost and I missed the "upgrade firmware" cue entirely. Really appreciated seeing the close-ups of moving the rollers, loading the cutting tool, and releasing the front panel.
I can't get my silhouette switch from 4.5 to 5. Do i have to remove old version and start fresh?
Hey Melissa wanting to get a dtf printer but I'm intimidated by the daily maintenance they say it needs..also if I'm going on vacation.. what do you do..can you do a video PLEASE 🙏
If you can't print every day - even something a simple as a nozzle check - then I would suggest an alternative to DTF. The only exception wouldbe if you get an Epson F2100 / 2270 or STS DTF printer but those are much more expensive. Will they ever fix the design software to work on Mac? I can’t use any updates. I’m still on 4.4. This is frustrating!
I'm using on a Mac without issue, but I have not updated to Montorey yet if that's the issue you're experiencing.

Hey Melissa, I got my Cameo 5 today and I’ve not been able to get past the firmware update. It says it’s updating but then the status disappears and the send button isn’t clickable. If I restart it tells me again that I need to update the firmware. It also doesn’t recognise my autoblade. Any ideas what I may be doing wrong? I’m also using Mac with the Ventura OS.
Try to plug it in by USB and do the firmware update
Question, Is there a way to turn off the second pop up to send? It's annoying to have to press send twice.

Did you have any trouble updating the firmware? Mine keeps getting stuck on "checking for firmware update..." after I tell it to install the update.
No I didn't..but if you can't get it to do the firmware update via bluetooth, plug in a USB
Hello I just recently purchased a cameo five, I have the cut blade set and locked, I then did the firmware upgrade. In the carriage 1 dialoge box popped up a message saying "No Carriage 1-compatible Cut action found for this materiasl. Select a different action, or click MORE to define new setting."
Is this because I just went to the firmware upgrade and didnt have a design and material selected? Thank You for you help? Do you have any coupons available for your University? I will be paying monthly when I join.
