Bluetooth has nothing to do with your router at all, it's a direct connection between the computer and the Cameo. The Cameo not connecting through Bluetooth can be an issue if you don't have usb cables or adapters at all. It's also doubtful that 3rd party cutting mats void warranty. I always cut my 3rd party cutting mats the same size as the original. Never used the original at all, it's flimsy. If you have Windows 11 you may need to go into Bluetooth settings, tap on the small arrow on the devices bar (next to the blue add device button). In the screen that now appears change the Bluetooth devices discovery from normal to advanced. Standard will block a lot of devices.
You are absolutely right - bluetooth connects directly to the Silhouette machine. However, the firmware update requires an internet connection and that is 100% connected to your router as I stated in the video. The firmware update had to be done by usb cable on previous models - this is changing with future machines, however, in the current version of the Silhouette software is not always successful when using the bluetooth connection, which is why I plugged in by usb. My computer did connect to the machine by Bluetooth successfully, however, the firmware did not update as shown in the video. You can find Silhouette's warranty policy on their website about 3rd party tools and mats.

I got the Cameo 5 for Christmas and the power supply is making a high pitched noise. Anyone else with that issue? I’ve contacted customer support but got a standard email back stating the noise is normal.
Yes. Seems to be normal. With the powered housing there is a noise to it, but not everyone can hear it. Most electronic equipment has a noise to it, but it's not audible to all people.
You tell it what you want it to do. Default is to feed back out or you can set up the crosscut to cut after you are done and it comes out the backside.
Just upgraded from 3 to 5 and I use it mainly for paper art. I loaded the auto blade correctly, and have not been able to get the auto blade to cut through 65lb Cardstock. Wasted many sheets, even put the blade to 10 and force 30 it’s not cutting through. Anyone else have issues like this? I’m going to reach out to them direct because the blade, machine, all is brand new. Pretty frustrated 😢
Is the red line inside the blade adjusting to the correct number that you have set on the Send tab? Is the cap on the blade secure and not loose? If those are both fine, then I'd recommend you reach out to Silhouette Support with photos and video of everything so they can see what you see.
@@SilhouetteSecrets thanks For the reply! Yes, the blade line moves and I even tried with my finger manually to make sure the blade actually comes down more with each click. I’m hoping all I need is a new blade but hesitant to buy one I’ll be so mad if same issue lol.

@gabrielapiranej8603 that's is a 3rd party tool, and it is not designed or tested by Silhouette.... so they can not guarantee the results, and it voids the machine warranty.
You would be amazed at the signs of it.... but most times, the user shows photos or video of a 3rd party mat being used when troubleshooting. In some older model machines, using 3rd party mats, which can be thicker has been known to stretch the rollers out with extended use. I'd recommend installing v4.5.738 found under the Legacy section on the website under Software > learn more and see if you can connect. However, if you are using MAC Sonoma OS, then you'll need to use v4.5.770.
thanks for the video that really told me a lot I don't think this is the one for me. I just want a machine to cut standard stickers I print of the computer so I don't have to do it by hand. this its a nice looking machine but to big for my space I hope I can find what I need. thanks again you was very helpful.
After using Cameo 5 for 6 month I went back using Cameo 4 it cuts better and easy to load vinyl. I am very disappointed with Cameo 5 performance. If I could return it I gladly would
Sorry to hear that. I still use my Cameo 5 and it cuts well.
my don't cut and im on my second one ,, some one help
It's very difficult to troubleshoot on
UA-cam comments with that limited information.
Follow this exactly step-by-step. It's still relevant for the Cameo 5.

Type out a capital B and send that as your test cut. If it doesn't cut, increase the blade depth up 1 and send it to cut again.
Does it cut?
is that a hp omen latop?
@@Unominious yes.
Hi. can you tell me please if the power adapter support 220v? or it just for 110v?
Depends on what country you are in. Please refer power supply questions to your Silhouette retailer as they will know your exact need for your country.
@@SilhouetteSecrets Unfortunately, I do not have a retailer in my country. I'm thinking of ordering this product via Amazon USA
@@AirLineASMR Then it will come with a U.S. plug. Please contact Silhouette Support at silhouetteamerica.com for more specific details. The power source can be specific to the machine and using the wrong one can have a negative affect.
@@SilhouetteSecrets Thank you for the reply :) I will contact their support.
Where comes the vinyl out when you do a larger cut like 1 meter?
You tell it what you want it to do. Default is to feed back out or you can set up the crosscut to cut after you are done and it comes out the backside.

The cameo 5 sounds like an alien 😅
@@SilhouetteSecrets thanks
For the reply! Yes, the blade line moves and I even tried with my finger manually to make sure the blade actually comes down more with each click. I’m hoping all I need is a new blade but hesitant to buy one I’ll be so mad if same issue lol.
@@agent007420ify buying a new blade will be the fastest way to identify if that is the issue. A new blade would be something that you would eventually use and need anyhow and getting one to test it could be the fastest way to get you on your way to cutting. It will take time for Silhouette to respond and troubleshoot any issues.
Can i use My knife from Cameo 4?
The Kraft blade? Yes.
@@SilhouetteSecrets and the Cb09?
@gabrielapiranej8603 that's is a 3rd party tool, and it is not designed or tested by Silhouette.... so they can not guarantee the results, and it voids the machine warranty.
Thank you!!!!!!
You are welcome!
Hello
Wow Cameo 5
Using a 3rd oarty cutting mat...how exactly would they know you were lol
You would be amazed at the signs of it.... but most times, the user shows photos or video of a 3rd party mat being used when troubleshooting.
In some older model machines, using 3rd party mats, which can be thicker has been known to stretch the rollers out with extended use. But there are other signs of it too when you get into the aspect of troubleshooting cut issues.
It sounds a lot quieter than the original Cameo.
@@user-jt5vm3mi1w it is much quieter. There is still a sound, but it's a machine, so I expect some noise.
This video shows why I would NOT buy this. Silhouette is degrading in their upgrades on everything 😢
So Is Cricut… which is why I am doing more research….
It sounds like the carriage is struggling. Might just be over the video.
replay-thanks
