This is not a "bad" documentary, with an interesting & intriguing presentation. I just wish it didn't have this horribly distracting, CONSTANT, background music playing. The video is about a musical group .... you don't have to PUMP stupid, generic music into the listener's ears the entire time. I mean, really .... are you trying to make some sort of point? Like, "hey, here's a lot of dumbass muzak to complement our production". It totally destroys what would otherwise be a pretty decent video.
The Stones didn't change after Altamont. Look at the debauchery of Exile, the '72 wildfire tour and the entire indulgent 70s. And isn't " Heart Breaker" a social commentary song?
The Stones show at Altamont was like reading a Greek tragedy......someone had to die at the end. Ironically, musically speaking, it was one of the better shows on the 1969 tour.
Maybe its me, maybe it was the vibe there but that version of Sympathy for the Devil they did there was epic. Not really better, but almost like a new song. Under my thumb was excellent there too.
Some think the Stones played a short set at Altamont due to all the violence - and they did think about cutting it short - but decided that could make things worse so they played a full set - here is the setlist from that concert .. At Altamont Speedway Free Festival Tracy, California USA Dec 6, 1969 Rolling Stones Setlist; Jumpin' Jack Flash Carol (Chuck Berry cover) Sympathy for the Devil (Interrupted by numerous fights near the stage - causing the band to stop - then restart the song) The Sun Is Shining (Jimmy Reed cover) Stray Cat Blues Love in Vain (Robert Johnson cover) Under My Thumb (Stopped following the fracas involving Meredith Hunter - then restarted - after this the violence mostly subsided for the remainder of the concert) Brown Sugar (live debut - studio version had been recorded just 2 days earlier in Muscle Shoals, Alabama) Midnight Rambler Live With Me (The scene in the film showing a naked woman attempting to climb onto the stage actually occurs during this song - but it is shown while "Sympathy for the Devil" is played. The performance of the song is also faintly heard in the background as the medical intern talks about Meredith Hunter's death) Gimme Shelter Little Queenie (Chuck Berry cover) (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction Honky Tonk Women Street Fighting Man
I need a doc about why the Hell’s Angels brought pool cues
That's funny

excellent film - chiefly because it featured 'first-hand accounts' from several of the people who were actually there..

Not fade away was not a Jagger Richard song, it was a Buddy Holly song😊
Great documentary! It covers everything with primary source accounts! Gimme Shelter just scratched the surface on Altamont!

at the end of 'GIMME SHELTER', they do a great, raucous, version of the title song. as all the fans file out of Altamont.
That`s alright then
Drop the background music.....please. Completely spoils it. What on earth is wrong with just listening to people speak.
