Thank you so much!!
Thank you so much! I have learned a lot!
I would have loved this video if you had normalize the voice , add equalizer and reduced the noise and had explained how to add echo to make voice better. Hopefully you can explain it in your next video.
this guy is the reason I still have motivation in making music and without him I would end up probably just being lost in Ableton's complicated systems
Thanks! Appreciate the kind words!

Baby steps! That's all I've been looking for! Everyone assumes the user knows the software and interface top to bottom, shortcuts, etc. that they end up doing things and effects and leaving the us, the students, lost and confused! You, my man, did the complete opposite and HELPED a lot! Thank you!!!
That's exactly what I was going for! Thanks!
YOU ARE ThE absolute BEST teacher, advisor All hail you. I'm two hours in to setting up my volt and ableton live editing.
This was incredibly helpful to me. I was seriously struggling to make a simple track as a new user. You saved the day. This is a very thoughtful and well executed tutorial that even my 60 year old, analog tuned brain could follow. Your work is appreciated and ultimately made the difference for me. I was done. Thank you.
Alex thanks for this video I really like the fact that you don’t waste time telling obvious things that are already known and just relay the facts that are needed to record audio (and we use a Focusrite as well ) have subscribed to your channel keep up the good work and thanks again. I am now going to spend the day creating some loops and other samples from newly recorded audio
You explain these so well man. Im so glad I found your channel.
I am new to Abelton but I am really digging it so far. Can’t wait to start recording!!!
Thank You Alex! Short, informative and too the point!
Great video. This got me started with Ableton!
Bravo👍👍👍 Thank You For This, You made it look so simple and easy to learn.
Many thanks. This is THE best Ableton tutorial I've encountered. Very clearly explained, step by step.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.
Nice job! Concise. No wasted time loss of direction. Thanks!
Thanks for the feedback!
It's been a few years since you've made these but wanted you to know it's been very helpful to me - I used Cakewalk for over a decade and while concepts are the same the UI is very different! Hope you make some more videos sometime.
appreciate the advice brotha. very helpful.
Alex: I'm also Alex. This is my first video I've seen regarding Ableton Live 10 that is clear and concise. Nice job. I'm looking forward to seeing your other videos because Ableton is not the most intuitive software. Thanks for sharing your subject matter expertise!
Thanks for watching. Good luck!
Absolute game changer! i've been trying to do this but with warp on which was messing me up. Thank you soooo much!!!

These tutorials are absolutely amazing! I am BRAND new to this recording thing and your easy to understand, clearly presented videos are VITAL to an old dog like me trying to learn new tricks! I feel like you're right in the room with me, just walking me through the process in everyday language...Thank you for this wonderful resource and keep up the great work!

thank you, some great tips & advice. got me started using the software when i didn't know how to record tracks/loops.
Thanks for watching!
@@DJCouchKing i think before i get to ahead of myself, i better watch all your tutorials from the beginning, from watching #1 and #5, i like the detail you get into so thanks for taking the time to share knowledge, ill credit you on my first album :)
Thanks for watching!
Your mannerisms for tutorials get me invested because you are so soft spoken and relaxed. No loud hyper wannabe internet personality being all like “YO WHADDUP ITS YA BOY -“ shit who spends the whole video going way too fast and way too energetic when talking which feels like it treats me as if I’m already an expert and it overwhelms me and distracts me from learning. What I love about you is that even though you have mastered Ableton, you are deliberately slow in your actions and presentation because you acknowledge your target audience and are super beginner friendly so you can give uneducated people a chance to follow along without issue. I look forward to watching more tutorials from you.
Thanks for the feedback. Appreciate it!
Great job, thank you!
Thanks for watching!
You're good! Thanks
Neat and clean explained Great Job

nice informative.
Please continue these tutorial session ..the only channel where I can find the videos which made me understand abelton live a little.. I want to know more..before your videos I was completely confused about this software.
I will! Taking a little break right now to finish some music projects but I'll be starting a series for Live 11 this year.
Thank you so much .💜
And it will be very helpful if you create a litte project in the video like by seeing that we can understand how to edit the audio and the vocals and how to make a cover with the beats.
Great video, plenty of info but concise
Straight to the point
Thanks for watching!
Wow! No BS. Straight to it. I was recording my bass guitar and editing the track in no time.

I really like this and learn lot of things in small video
Thank! Glad you enjoyed it.
Thank you for this. This helped out a lot. The more I get into podcasting, the more I'm forced to learn new things and ableton is a whole lot different than Audacity.
Thanks for watching! Glad I could help.

THIS MANS VOICE IS SOOOO NICE
Lol thanks.

Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the great video, could you please tell what mic you are using ? Sound quality on this video is way better than most I ve seen on youtube!
Thanks! I use a Rode VideoMic Pro+ for the camera shots and an AKG P220 for the voiceover/tutorial sections.
So helpful thank youuuuuu!
😃
Hi, thanks a lot for the video! I did everything like in the video, and I recorded it, but I can't hear it unless I go to preferences and change the driver type back to MME/DirectX. What do I have to do to hear the recording right after recording it?
Hi. Thank you for the helpful information, may i ask how to stop a crackles while playing back and audio recorded track, it is not a clipping noise, it is something like a buffer shortage.
Thank you so much.
Very new at this but I did learn a few things. However I’m more interested at this point to be able to save a track so I could send it and do other things with it.
Go to File > Collect All and Save. That will gather all the project audio files so you can send the folder to someone or move it to another computer.
Hello Alex, just brought a 18i20 for acoustic kit tracking. Do you have a tutorial on setting up the Focusrite Control software? Thx
I don't have a tutorial for that specific software. I'm sure there's one floating about UA-cam though. The only Focusrite interface I have is the 2i2 which doesn't use that software.
Wow... you have a really dope speaking voice :)
Also: This was helpful/informative
Thanks!
Thanks for the very informative video, I am a newbee and this video got me started.
I was wondering whether you could recommend a audio interface that will work with an older Mac Book with OSX 10.4.7. Thanks
Thanks for the feedback! 10.4.7 is pretty far out of date. Most any class compliant interface should work but double check the requirements before you buy.
@@DJCouchKing Thanks for the promotion response, if you know of any brand names that are any class compliant please let me know.
Thanks for this video! Do you have any tips on how to get rid the background noise when recording ? Thank you!
Yeah I have a video on that. Check it out!
@@DJCouchKing alright will do! Thanks a lot :D
You made it sound so simple thanks so much!
No worries! Thanks for watching!
I found your video most useful, particularly because it well-paced and clear. I am new to Ableton Live and my only previous experience with a DAW has been with Audacity. This video approaches audio recording via the Arrangement view whereas many others favour Session view. Whilst I get the difference between the two and can see when one might use one in favour of the other I cannot get my heads around both being able to record independently. When would one want to record in say Session view and not want the recording to be visible in Arrangement view?
Thanks for the feedback! Session view is meant to be an idea sketchpad, or a live performance tool, whereas arrangement view is more of a traditional recording space. I think if you want to play around with ideas before committing to a song structure, or "feeling out" the changes that's when you want to use session view. Hope that helps!
@@DJCouchKing Thanks for the advice. I had pretty much come to a similar conclusion but it just seems strange that the two views work independently. It is not at all intuitive how to transfer recordings from one to the other. My instinct, having used Audacity, was to work in Arrangement view as per your video but so many others seem to use Session view.
i started using FL to produce/record, and i found i liked abelton better for production, i had some knowledge on recording but now that i switched to abelton, i wanted to know how you can make the voice pitched low (chopped & screwed) also how do you make the vocals go all the way to the right or left for mixing? i wanted to create two tracks and mix one to the left, one to the right
I LOVE YOU
Lol. Thanks. Glad you enjoyed the video.
Love; liked and subscribed! How do listen to what I just recorded through my scarlet?
Thanks for the sub! If your audio settings are set up for scarlett just make sure your headphones/speakers are plugged into output of the interface and press play.
@@DJCouchKing Thank you kindly
