I've been trying to find an answer to this question. My wife has CKD. Her blood pressure throughout her life if has been, on average, 90/60, and she is 77. If CKD is a consequence of poor blood flow to the kidneys, could her low blood pressure be the cause?
Always get bloodwork done. I have Crohns and CKD. Due to the malabsorption from my Crohns my nutrient levels are lower than those of someone without GI issues. If I limited potassium and phosphorous they would become too low. Need to always check your blood levels.
Very smart to clarify that, that your are talking about kidney damage to much sodium is not good, am type 2 diabetes so I try to eat beef, fish and chicken etc. thanks
Can't be difficult. Lookup low oxalate and low potassium foods, and stay away from salt and processed foods. Drink plenty of water. This guy looks to me like he's asking you to become a vegan. What you should eat greatly depends on what stage of kidney function you have. His list looks like it's for people in stage 5. IF you're kidneys aren't too bad and you cut potassium way down, that can have an adverse affect on your kidneys.
I had a boyfriend who got kidney damage when he was 16, when he caught strep throat from a little girl he was babysitting, and he didn’t go to the doctor for antibiotics and his body got rid of the strep eventually but it attacked his kidneys. When he was drafted for Vietnam they refused him because he was spilling protein in his urine. He got 2 transplants but his body rejected them both. Then he had a peritoneal dialysis bladder constructed in his abdomen. It worked probably for 20 years, then it scarred over & he had to do hemodialysis after that. Then he got tired of going to the clinic and got a home dialysis unit, and while doing that he had a heart attack. 💔 Best guy ever.
