I was subscribed to their newsletter to know when they launch the Flex and when I finally got the email that pre-order is open, the only country where you can order it is the USA. No Europe anywhere. You lucky people.
Really hoping they come out with a xl version that has 4 large tools. Im likely going to pass on this current model. I feel largely limited by what i can have. I use my scissors all the time so by having a knife and scissors now i have to go without a saw or file!? Love the concept and the fact that you can order the knife to your preferences, i just feel in its current arrangement its not going to beat something like a leatherman wave/surge when it comes to a complete edc toolset.
This looks like a great budget alternative to the GOAT multitool. The bare Roxon is $40 on the site, and the tools look to be about $5 each. So, maybe $80 all in? The GOAT is $120 all in. They also sell a ton of different tools. There is an upgraded S35VN blade available, and a "full package" currently about $280 with all the the tools they make included. I'm just hoping this is the new trend, and I think Roxon is a fine one to get into the market selling one.
How much does it weigh with 0 tools? Seems like it might be a bit heavy. The concept and idea is fantastic though, hoping we can see this in a smaller, compact form-factor and lightweight.
Just ordered mine! I already have the Goat, which i carry the Arc instead of the goat, because the goat just doesn't have the feel of a premium multitool Imo, I think the Roxon will be much more Robust than the goat, Roxon has a more user-friendly swap out system than the goat, the goats scalpel knife is very dangerous when engaging other tools! Some of those tools on the goat comes out the same time! The Roxon doesn't need a bunch of fine tuning! Roxon has a better system IMHO!
When I bought my Phantom I really like it and being able to change the knive blades and the scissors are awesome! But he saw sucks and I would prefer an installed #2 phillips
Other multi-tool manufacturers thought about this design but always declined over profit. They want us buying each individual multi-tool for each need. Car, camping, contractor, biking, hiking, etc. Roxon has it right and will do good because of giving customers what we wanted all along. Just buy the base tool and change out tools to ones needs. This is the way.
Good day, Sir. Would it be possible for you to help me find out if the Roxon Flex's bit driver is using the same kind of double ended bits as the Daicamping DL30? I would really appreciate the information. 🙂
I wish they also offered a version with another large layer on the opposite side. Maybe would need to be a bit thicker (perhaps could forfeit one of the middle layers).
Before checkout: Wow, only 40 bucks for the frame. After checkout: Did I need ALL those tools? Yes, yes I do. Thanks for staying on top of this. Also, I love the fact that they are selling blanks for this.
Preordered. An open source, modular, platform. You should never feel like one tool is better than another because of the locked in tools. Now you can choose what you want and don't want. This is exactly what the industry needed and it's a shame it didn't come from a industry leader.
Hey, I know you mentioned that you can remove some of the tools using spacers, but is it possible by using longer bolts to add a few more tools on each side? If so do you think the locking mechanism could be easily modified to work on a wider tool?
Mr. Kincaid, I'm a little disappointed. I personally feel Roxon should give you a general-purpose toolset and give you the option of additional implements, a bundle package would be nice personally and the steel is soft but for the money that's okay. I'll think I'll pass on this one.
@@hvacbudget8600 I just ordered one minutes ago. Curiosity killed the cat named Mr. Sullivan. I purchased the initial frame and ten implements for $99. I don't like the cosmetic look of the scales as much as the frame on the GOAT but looks aren't everything. I do feel strongly about the GOAT. I think it's a good multitool and deserves a lot more recognition than it has currently received.
Pretty wild it's taken this long for someone to make a customizable multitool. This one looks to be very good! Will definitely keep an eye out for more info.
@Semitotal. Hello SOG already did make a modular multi tool around 25yrs ago.The SOG POWERLOCK you can change out the parts and put what you want in it that they have, I've been doing it since I got the PowerLock Safety Cutter model over 23yrs ago and still have and use it.I put the scissors in mine.Roxon just did it better and easier than all the others as of now,way better and easier!! I'll be ordering one now with all the trimmings. All the best.
@@hvacbudget8600 I give you 👍🏼 but I really don’t think it compares to the goat. It is “smoother” or more refined but I don’t think better. Only 2 long tools. No bit driver. Short scalpel handle. And I don’t like its appearance much. Goat needs more advertising or PR or something. 🤷♂️
@@andrewfett142 I did end up pre- ordering one about five minutes ago. Curiosity killed me. I did purchase the magnetic bit driver, fixed Philips head and the flat head/ bottle opener combo. It was $99 with the initial frame and ten implements. I'm totally with you on the scales and cosmetic look of the Flex. I think it's nice but not as nice as the GOAT!
So i don't have the money, tools, or space to make things right now. I won't new able to get the flex this year probably. But here's an idea and i would but it if someone trys it out. Make a wave feature to the blade. Not necessarily for defense but just for easy access. Idk if it's possible but hey worth a shot!
@ryangriffith1500 I don't have it on me right now but I think it's up. 90% sure it is. Tools are on the outside facing opposite plier head. So should be up.
@ToolTechGeek i wish i was able...i have so many damn ideas to put into action. I did have someone 3d print a working prototype for a wave function on an otf! It actually works
Website still not up. I am looking forward to getting this. I like the idea of taking out the blade so you can fly with it.
I think it's a great platform!
Got mine ordered! Excited!
Great!
Does it come in black?
I don't think so.
I still don’t see it for order… but it is early.
The website was supposed to be up Monday but there may have been some technical issues. Hopefully it is up by today or tomorrow.
@@hvacbudget8600 It's up now, gonna see how I can fit this one into my hobby budget.

Tried ordering, couldn't pick any other country than US for delivery. So that's not helpful...

Unfortunately for us europeans pre orders only in US. Lucky you guys 😅
That is unfortunate!
Sadly you can only order it if you live in US 😵
I live in canada i used re ship to send to l a usa address then they ship to me in canada for an extra fee . Typical for Canadians to pay more
I would like to see a t shank tool to add in
Yes needs a shank tool… maybe later
We're listening! We'll add it to our list of tools to add
@@RoxonTool please open orders for shipping to Europe. You dont need to do the customs for us...
Only opened for preorder for US customers which is a bit disappointing

Not available in the Great White North yet whomp whomp

The Roxon does feel more comfortable and easier to use.
I can’t afford one of these at the minute but I can’t wait for people to post their set-ups.
The website is working. I got mine preordered.
Nice!
I wish they had an option for a 4mm bit driver because I never use 1/4" for anything. Maybe more bit could be fit inside that way too.
I ordered mine with a quarter inch bit driver so I see that some people are saying that there is no picture but I ordered one to come with mine
Looks like they worked out all the kinks its very nice
Darn, no EU preorders. Oh well, there's no luck in leisure.
Not sure if I missed it in prior video- is there a box cutter made by ROXON? Not a deal breaker, thought I saw it.
The Roxon Phantom is a larger modular system and it has a full size utility knife. The Flex has a scalpel tool blade available.
@@hvacbudget8600 maybe down the line they might make one or some might 3d print it. And thanks for the super fast response.

😢 Can't buy in Australia ...
That's unfortunate. Hopefully it changes soon!
Any news on a t shank adapter?
Not yet.
We can't ship to Canada...

Just for the frame only. Full tool is around $80.

Cool!
So there's no tools that come with it?
