Thanks for talking about this type of "perpetual" setup using the 800w Ecoflow charger. This is the holy grail so to speak, the ability to use an air conditioner indefinitely off grid without the need for a huge solar/battery system. Perfect for smaller configurations like vans. Please keep this type of content coming! Thank you again! ✌️
Glad it was helpful! ill keep it coming!
i went with the delta 2 max and alternator charger for my e350 van, soley because i can jump my truck battery when it eventually dies in the middle of no where (800 watts is chill too) - seeing it in action is awesome!
thats a great choice!
I’ve been running the Alternator Charger on EcoFlow Delta 2 and Extra Battery for a few weeks now…it’s a real game changer. The Alternator Charger can also independently charge the Extra Battery. Great video!
Great to hear!
Awesome Video Brad. I'm gonna look into that echo flow alternator charger. That device is a game changer. Keep it up with the amazing content
Seriously thats it! All in 1! Loved it
thanks king!
I'd put the Ecoflow and solar generator in the back seat of the truck to keep it out of the weather and run the hose and lines through the back window into the canopy. Great portable units !
yes, great idea. this was obviously not his permanent setup
Good idea...I was wondering how he was going to do this
That Jeep is SICK!!! 🔥🔥🔥
its a beast
This system is exactly what I have started building (little by little) and what I want to use. It saves me from (like you said) building a more complicated system with things I dont need, and more compact. Love it! I plan on using a propane refer.
that sounds like a great setup!
I go by TWO IS ONE AND ONE IS NONE… so if it does TWO Things it’s a WIN 🏆 😮😮😊💚💚💚
I agree with you!
EcoFlow Alternator charger (800 W) was a great addition to the product line up.
its a game changer
That’s a cool rig! The eco flow is cool! Gotta check it out
it's a beast! i would love something that can go off-road like this!
Seems ok to hook more lead acid batteries together as well since you have the one. . Thanks Brad. What do you think?
Love it! Francisco is a cool guy! 👊🏼 From my area. 😊
Couldn't agree more!
How is this going to work in really cold weather or super hot... Can that ac/heater unit actually sit outside in bad weather?
It's still outta my budget but I find it so interesting bc of my minimalist, overland tendencies as well as being allergic to propane
The unit can run inside the vehicle. They include a hose kit to vent outside
Another great video from Brad!
Great explanation, great knowledge and great vibes!
Eco flow looks like found the solution! Heating and cooling in a package plug & play Thats amazing 🔥🔥🔥 definitely want a similar setup including the pop up looks awesome!
thank you sir! the alternator charger would be great for your suburban
Nice vid, cool Jeep but I'ma go with my man over at Cheap RV living on the virtues of the Ecoflow Wave 2
yeah, I saw his video... he didnt review the alternator charger, his main complaint was that you cant put enough solar on the roof to keep everything charged which is tru for most vans.
I have the EcoFlow wave to air conditioner/heater in it. I power it with either an AC cord or via the power cord to my Delta2 max. I can’t find any ports on the wave2 for solar input. You must have to have the proprietary battery for the wave to for solar. There seems to be a lot of information that EcoFlow doesn’t give you on their website.
The wave 2 has a solar input port next to the ac port. It’s an xt-60 connector
So Brad, knowing what you know about heat pumps vs diesel heaters and seeing the heating part of the draw of power what’s your opinion? In your case would you only use it for cooling like you do yours in your box truck? I know you have the room where he doesn’t. What say ye?
I think this is a great solution for smaller vehicles like cargo vans or a small sprinter. I am also testing it on my box truck
"CooL" video! Thank you both for the info and descriptions. I will look into the wave2 for my trucks camper shell. Thank you for sharing
You’re welcome!
His set up is pretty awesome, but when he gets an afternoon or late night thunderstorm with a ton of rain is it ok to have the ac out in it ?
This was just for the test. You can locate the AC inside and it has vents that can attach to a window
the best vid so far!!! keep it up!
Thanks! Will do!
As a Gladiator owner, that is my dream set up. Unfortunately my pockets are empty. 😂
I hear you!
I would like to add, I have this basic setup except with the Delta2 MAX. And I don't have the EcoFlow charger. Like he said at the beginning of the video. This is a great setup if you are starting from scratch (like my brother was). If you have an existing system (like I did) the EcoFlow charger becomes an unnecessary luxury. If you have a 1000 watt AC inverter installed you can charge the Delta 2 At 750 watts just by plugging the Delta2 into the inverter. I love the form factor of the EcoFlow charger and think its a slick setup, but at the current price, Ill continue to use my inverter (like the cave man I am)...😆
Brad, we briefly communicated on Instagram. I’m still trying to figure out how to run the various DC fixtures in my camper trailer off of the EcoFlow when it only has a single 12V cigarette lighter port, and then USB ports. It does have a universal small 12 V with an audio style plug, but I haven’t found any patch cords that fit that. I need to run a 12V water pump, fantastic fan, four LED light pucks, 12V refrigerator, 12V water tank heating pad, All from the EcoFlow Delta2 Max. I have all of these devices except for the alternator charger because everything is in my trailer and I haven’t figured out how to get the power wire from the alternator charger to trailer.
It’s going to be a bit of a work around for you. Eco flow products are not designed to run a lot of 12 volt appliances. Your best option is to buy a power supply that plugs into your 110v outlet and steps down to 12 volts.
So, just to confirm, you can have this whole system (heat & AC), without connecting anything to your vehicle, like the car battery, the car alternator, or any of the lights? Completely separate?
well, you still need to charge the battery. You can keep it completely separate if you plug in solar panels directly
A couple of questions…when the camper is in Sleep Mode…the sleeping platform is in the Down position…. how does the hot/cold air pass through the platform to reach upstairs?
Second question… if using this setup at night is the Ecoflow AC system left outside?
The ecoflow system can be used inside. There is a vent kit that connects to the window for exhaust. During sleeping you could place the ac in the upper sleeping area and vent the hot air through the window
@@nomadbrad503 I’d love to see how that’s done.
Reason I ask is because I have the exact same setup and am battling to figure out how to make it work in sleeping mode?
From a security point of view I need to bring the AC inside… but in order to work properly the Ecowave needs to uterlize three ports…
1) Fresh air In.
2) Hot Air exhaust.
3) Cold AC air out.
I don’t want to bring the Ecowave upstairs for a number of reasons… so I have to vent the cold air upstairs using the ducting pipe provided.
The Fresh Air IN and the Exhaust air OUT also need to use the duct hoses… that’s three ducting pipes in use.
Has the user actually used the setup overnight using cold AC air? Has he insulated the upstairs in any way?
Thx for sharing your thoughts on this topic… I’m convinced I can make it work in the hotter climate of the Sahara where we use this particular vehicle.
Tell your buddy to look at the little giant safety step.
Good idea, I’ll let him know
Does eco-flo have any idea that you are giving their product such a positive review? You should be able to get some installs or at least consult fees from such a great technical video. I really think this was a great video to promote your business 👍✌️🤘
I hope they appreciate the in depth review! business is definitely picking up 💪🏼
Where does the delta battery bank get placed with the big house battery system? Like if you have both a big house battery system AND a delta max 2 system…. How are they connected?
I showed that in my diagram
Awesome demo! 👍
thanks!
Interesting combination of technology. But I wonder how it would long the battery power would last if you needed the heating overnight for around 8-10 hours?
good question. that will vary depending on outside temperatures and insulation factors.
Will this also work on a tiny home that is built on a trailer? Are you going to alter your heating and cooling setup to this setup or is your current setup adequate?
this can work for a tiny home. Im keeping my current setup.
Are the Gladiator batteries normally in the back or did he route it to the back or did he do option 2? Just curious because I've been thinking of getting a gladiator with a four wheel camper M shell to make my own camper truck.
He added house batteries in the back to power the camper electronics. The starting batteries are still under the hood
@@nomadbrad503 awesome thanks! I did read that the Gladiator has a normal battery and aux battery that is quite annoying. Some people delete it or do a regular battery swap. Thanks a bunch! I just bought an ecoflow 2 and alternator charger for my 2003 Ford E350 ambulance camper conversion. Can't wait to replace my jackery that charges via the cig lighter. Was really trying to avoid using solar panels. Easy sub! Can't wait to see more content and learn more from you!
How would it know the ambient temp inside the tent if it was outside?
Good question
I want to take Ecoflow alt. Charger and find a way to charge its smaller station like EF River 2 Pro. There has to be a method. Any ideas?
at this point they dont support the river2 for alternator charging
Another reviewer said the air conditioner is quite loud.
If you are stealth camping in the city, can people walking past or police hear the ac running?
I didnt find it to be very loud. keep in mind all AC's use a compressor which will create some noise
@nomadbrad503 Thank you. I am looking at a typical UPS-size step-van to cool. I wonder how many of these ACs it would take to lower the temperature 20 degrees from whatever the temperature is outside.
I live in the south and prefer to live in my step-van even in the summer when it's 100 degrees out.
More broadly, I do wonder if anyone has ever made a chart that could give us at least a rough idea what mix of solar/battery/ACs (number, size) it would take to lower inside temperature 20 degrees according to how much cubic foot space we are trying to cool. Like an 8-10 foot box rig.
Might it take 2000 watts of solar panels 800 Amp hours of battery plus two 16,000 btu ACs, for example?
Another video sparked these questions when the man had that UPS-size step-van and had 1600 watts of solar panels on the roof with two ACs. He never gave any particulars as to the specs of the ACs or how much battery he had or how much the temperature was lowered with two ACs running.
It's just not yet comprehensively available in chart-form online what we need according to what size rig we have and what our lowered temperature goals are
You seem like the man who could tackle that question in a future video.
Loved the city stealth camping video. Best I've ever seen. A boondocking video would make a nice compliment. Great work.
@@Chuck_Hooks honestly for a step van in the south I would figure out how to mount a mini split. It’s going to work a lot better. There are ways you could incorporate the outdoor unit into the side of the vehicle for a stealth look.
@@nomadbrad503 I didn't realize a mini-split could be placed in such a way that would maintain stealth. I suspect it would take two of them to reliably cool down that much interior space.
I am aware that at least one manufacturer makes ACs that mount underneath the vehicle.
Advantage of not needing to cut holes in the roof or side.
Request you consider looking into that for a future video.
NoMad🚛☁☁Brad🤓Amazing Set-Up! Not My Style🕺Butt Provides What Francisco's Journey Wants👍. always Tommy🤠
thanks tommy!
How much invested in this rig, including all the kit? $$$
A lot of
Be careful ecoflow is having problems with their products going into overload and they are not warranty the products.
not sure about that. they stand behind their products
@nomadbrad503 why would I lie? I'm not getting free stuff like you or getting paid to give good reviews like you!
@@egochecker lol ok, thanks for checking my ego dude. Mission accomplished
@@nomadbrad503Have you checked his UA-cam channel? He seems kinda nutty. There is a video of him getting arrested and he says that he is a "national" and has a "God given right to travel". Is that the same as the "sovereign citizen" crap I've seen in other youtube videos where people try to get away with driving without a license? Maybe he is just a Troll?
He has house batteries and a massive inverter. WHY is he messing with the big power stations?
All you need is a Freezer to make ice and ice for the ice bath..
That would be great
Was this recorded at fiesta? Lol
Yes sir!
🔥🔥🔥
thanks!
Fireeee
thanks!
The most stupidest review…”let’s heat a tent while it’s warm.”
Most don't have 100s thousand $ to invest in living in a vehicle . This is all. Bull shit just city dwellers don't do real boondocking . There wanna bees
this guy owns his own business and goes overlanding a lot. He takes this gladiator on some very tough trails
Additionally 😂
additionally! 🤪
Hello Nomad! May I know your email? We are mainly engaged in LiFePO4 and lithium-ion battery business. Your video just caught our attention! Hope to hear from you!
