Same. I have an old Ashly MM508 that sounds amazing, but I’m starting to have issues with a couple of inputs, and have a hard time with just 8 channels. I had discounted this one, thinking 6 inputs wasn’t enough, but 12 inputs is plenty. Plus, handling eurorack levels means I can get rid of my output module and fit in something more interesting.
I’m an owner and big fan of the Blackbox and at some point I’m gonna need a bigger mixer the the 5 channel POS I have. Although, I think 1010’s workflow is solid (and the small footprint is dope) I can’t help thinking I’d be better served by something like the Zoom L12
on another note regarding the blue box, im seeing a fair few people reporting ground noise issues when connecting other instruments to it. According to the 1010 forum they have suggested you plug it into a socket that is not shared with any other device. Asking someone who has one, he said this made no difference and the ground noise appeared to be caused by a laptop.
Ordered one today to use for a mixer and recorder with my synths and eurorack modular synths to use in small space. Looks fun since I need an easy way to mix and control my gear. I do wish that it had an audio interface that can dump direct to DAW without having to remove the sd card and copy over to Ableton or another DAW.
I can't wait till I get this - I per-ordered it two months ago and now it's about to be released. I'm actually going to use it for some very complex routings for streaming Let's Plays where I want to record a dry microphone as well as the game sound and send seperate mixes to my headphones and the streaming hardware where the Mac software solution "Loopback" did a view clippings previously. I will add some synths in a couple of months where I'm curious about the built-in reverb and wether everything is as accessible as I wish or wether I need an external controller like Novation Launch Control XL MK2. Please so more videos about this dope little machine once you get to know each other better!
I'm a beginner beat maker/keyboard pupil/synth enthusiast and the mix/record is the final piece in my jigsaw puzzle which i have spent what seems like a lifetime researching ( i'm retired ) and i want to use hardware not daw so it seems midi in/out for syncing is a criteria and the only alternatives i have come across - and quite fancy - are the Yamaha AW 1600 or the Roland ( Boss ) BR 1600cd which i can pick up on ebay for a good price - when i came across the 1010 i was thinking here's the solution but for some reason i can't pull the trigger and get it ( yet ) so some insight from an experienced user would be much appreciated. 6 stereo tracks or 12 mono is mouth wateringly tempting but is it small and fiddly diddly ? The Yamaha/Roland were both high end kit in their day and are highly regarded today and can be acquired relatively inexpensively.
does the blue box mixer has bus mixing? also you could have add in the video a example on how the bluebox behaves with external effects as a send and return.
I would love to hear some comparisons of a master from the bluebox next to something else. I love the size of this but for me there are a few things that are a deal breaker for me so far.. some may be fixed in future firmware updates Cons: No power on / off button, No compressor for each track, No sample rate options 44.1 khz for example.
Have they added any more Effects to it or still just Delay and Reverb ? Would LOVE to see them do like Akai and add a bunch of decent Effects to this like Akai did with MPC and Force
i kinda wanna replace my big soundcraft mixer with this, so i suppose you dont have any complaints about recording into this or that the interface is too fiddly?
I have Mpc one and the boss br1600 which I got for 50$. They work perfectly together. Although I have a few issues with midi routings, but that might just be me. I want to upgrade to a tascam model 12 but this 1010 blue box is so small I love it. So model 12 or bluebox?
I got the black box not sure if ill get the blue box but i should link the pocket operator but i can see why they go together blak box and blue box that is
This makes me even more excited for my own bluebox. It seems like just about the perfect solution for real-time recording tracks, which is pretty much all I do. A definite step up from the H6N I've been using. That's a nice recorder, but it's not really a mixer. I have high hopes for this little thing.
That beat you’re mixing is sick , I love it…cinematic industrial bone crushing beauty
This thing is actually pretty dope, didn't realize those were stereo inputs. You can basically have 12 channels in this box lol. Hmmmmm.....
This is what got me to sit up and listen. I was after a rack mixer for the small rack but this may be it and also match up with the desktop and iOS
@@Synthdawg_ Yeah man, pretty dope!

Before the video was over I paused and order one came back and finish the video.
Just ordered one of these today. Dope just as a super portable multitrack w/good interface if nothing else
Nice One! Can't wait 'til mine gets here! 😀👊

Tascam recorder may be great option as well since it has more channels as well as preamps.
06:31-deep shamanic cosmotrack. Strictly awesome vibe!!!

Nice...I'm still boppin my head to your song on the 1010 Blue ! Love how you got that flam happening on the kick. Gives the
song a unique BEAT -💥🙉🎵
Remember to buy slim 3.5mm Jack's.
Not super much space between the jack sockets there

great review! i ordered one, i do a ton of live hardware jamming and this is gonna be perfect. ✌️🎹🎶🎶

Really cool music
Now they only need to do a firmware update to include midi mapping and we are good!

@Selahl Tapes check out model 12 by tascam. Is also a beast. I’m undecided
When it's recording do the reverb and delay get recorded as used?

It’s a pretty decent mixer for the size, 12 inputs and two stereo effects sends (cue and output 2). Or one stereo send and two mono sends.
What is the mpd x5?

grausam das zu hören.
