Holy Shizznit Steve, bro I couldn’t have done this with out you! Thanks so much for making this video! I wanted to do this myself and I’m glad I had you by my side the entire way 🤘🏻👊🏼💪🏻
I agree...I have them upside down on the SG and love it. I needed to get some acorn nuts and shoot them black for these mirrors thought so i left them for Daytona right side up...Hard to get used to them there after riding 4 years with them down lol
hey, have you ever changed out the switch housing with the ones that are backlight so you can see the hand controls at night? if so are there any videos detailing this? thanks/
no I sure havent...im sorry. I havent even seen those..that sounds prety cool ...even after awhile you will have muscle memory and not need to see them to use the,,it would still be cool to have them lit up
I Love the videos!! Keep up the good work. I'm due to pick up my new 2020 Road Glide Limited next week. I've had a lot done to it. And I've taken some of the cues from the equipment you're putting on this RG.
Thank you Sam..thats awesome....if you have facebook please look us up over there. facebook.com/groups/427595487637128 When you get it, show it off man...would love to see it. Stay safe out there!
yes...the ones on the SG are flipper but they are chrome...what I done was buy a chrome cap nut and replace the nut that came with it. The black ones here I ended up leaving them up because I ran out of time before daytona. I will get 2 more cap nuts and spray them gloss black with Auto paint....then put them back on. The acorn nuts blend in good and you dont really notice it because you dont see the left over threads.
Hey David,...I have not shot one on that yet...Ive done a few and if you have aftermarket bars with internally pulled wires then I assure you they are no fun LOL...its hard getting that extra wire pulled through there.
@@sikbaggers thx, yeah, I have the LA Chopper Hammerhead and HD Kahuna heated grips. I’m sure I’ll be saying a few to many F-boms lol. I have a 21 RGS by any chance, do you know where do I need to plug in the grips?is there a connector behind the gages?
Another great tutorial. Thanks. I installed a set of HD heated grips on my '19 FLTRXS at the end of last year. Okay, call me spoiled! What bugs me is that there is a little play and slight wobble in the throttle grip. The grip slides in and out, about 3/16" . When at the dealer, I found the same play on all the new bikes with heated grips. Something to live with, I guess.
SIK Baggers I love them! They’re are smooth feeling. The grooves they have give the rider’s hands something to grip too. I haven’t had any concerns with them since installation which has been about 1.5 yrs. Furthermore, I have the Zombie saddlebag latches to accompany the levers. Both are great products!
hey brother once again another great video i'm bout to start all the stuff you just did in this video hope its as easy as you make it look...another question where did you get the break and clutch covers i like that sleek clean look !!
Thanks todd...Todd... not too bad man, you'll get it ..Take your time ...the covers are plain smooth joker machine ..I got them from get lowered cycles
Hi Steve, I am trying to install Arlen Ness deep cut grips and the clutch side butts up against the clamps like you said. They provided grip glue for this side. Is this necessary to use? And if so, how much? Thx
yes..it is ..it may feel tight but that will wear off and youll turn your handlebars one day and itll pop right off.....had it happen and it sucks...dangerous. I ran 4 equal lines down the handlebar and added some inside the grip as well..it will push all the glue to one end so make sure you push and pull and twist it before it sets up to evenly distribute the glue.
@@sikbaggers Steve! What are the chances that I go and check the left grip today and it hasn't set at all! I'm not sure why this happened as I put ALL the glue supplied with the grips by Arlen Ness into the grip. Any ideas? I'm in NY so it's pretty cold in the garage where my bike is. Could that be it? Lastly, since the grip just slid right off, can I attempt to glienit again or is it a done deal for these grips?
@@pbarre79 Yes that is it...the stuff is bascially super glue and that takes pressure and heat to set up..I would wait til you get a warm day and try some gorilla super glue on it....its not wasted..Ive had mine off 2 or three times..just glue it again and slap it back on there. Just wait for a warmer day.
@@sikbaggers ok, will do. I actually have gorilla glue laying around. I'll give it a try once the weather gets a little better as the last couple weeks has been really cold. Thx again
Great video again Steve. I am really liking the look of the whole set up on there. Looks really clean and those grips don’t look bad. How do they feel? I’m running Kuryakyn Kinetics on my Fat Bob and love ‘em. The Ness mirrors are pretty cool too. I like the fact that they’re very minimalistic. Keep ‘em comin! Thanks
Hey Kevin....I looked at those Kinetics too...those are sharp! I like them...they arent as "spongy" as I thought they would be...not at all to be honest lol...pretty stiff. Im not sure how I would like them on the long haul. We rode about 4 hours straight down i Daytona though and it didnt bother me. After my shoulder surgery my right hand falls asleep after 30 minutes anyway ...thank god for cruise control and I can let me arm swing and get some blood going again lol
Thank you Scott! These are not and the solution is getting a good set of speaker lid covers like the ones I use in this video from SKN IT ua-cam.com/video/AJ_qrbdFwiE/v-deo.html If you use these when needed it opens up the market to a huge range of speakers and not stuck getting only a few choices of marine grade that actually fit the lids.
In the bottom of your bars there is probably a hole made to fit the pin that is inserted into your clamp. If you left the bars up and beat that pin down with a punch and hammer you can then set your bars wherever you want. The problem with the SGs is the bars bend backwards from the clamp towards the tank. So you will only get a little bit of play before you hit your tank when turning. When looking for bars you should look for the "pullback" length...thats the amount of space on the bend away from your clamp...like my SG has la choppers twin peaks and the pull back is 6" If you get longer pullbacks then the area from the clamp to the riser part is closer to you and they adjust that in the mold to not hit your tank when turning.
I actually use a product that is cheap...its called Awesome. I pick it up at Menards, local hardware store. Not sure if you have those but I have also seen it at the dollar store...I but the refills and just put it in my own sprayer. After doing front forks on a bike I usually have oil everywhere and this stuff takes it right up out of the concrete. I use it on a lot of stuff. Engines, wheel wells on the cars and trucks, cleaning my grill, even house siding...works great and cheap.
yes its different but no need to adjust those cables anymore...There really isnt much that can go wrong with them as long as your not jacking around inside the bars and pulling pins lol...its different for sure..I feel ya.
Steve, you have one of the best informative and how to videos on UA-cam .also great content and never boring. keep up the great work!!!!!

I dont think we will ever do bars....There are so many on the market now that investing in making another set wont be that beneficial.
