I found a half black half white blazer at Ross. I saw the same one at a boutique except way more expensive and ruched sleeves. I pushed mine up but they fell a lot. Now I know I can do it w safety pins!!!
THANK YOU for being fast!!! So many of these draaaaaaggg on or people talk so fast/unclear that you might as well not watch. You were right to the point, super helpful and clear as a bell! Great work- I've subscribed 👍😃
You are a genius. Omg the hemming the jeans without a sewing machine. You have no idea what this means to me. I am 4'11" so that will give you an idea. I tried it out tonight - just finished ironing out my hem. I could just cry from joy and happiness. You gave me a miracle and you are an angel sent from heaven. Thank you.
These are some good hacks, some I already have done since a I was a teen. Since I have a rather large chest compared to everything else I had to do the tie back on dresses or jumpsuits and my had to keep cleavage hidden for wrap tops and dresses and prevent Oops there it is moments.. Now the new ones for me is the shoulder length take ins, shorten pants legs and sleeves, I will definitely be trying these out since I buy oversize items because they fit the chest if nothing else. Thanks for sharing and blessing to you and all in the days to come.

@Sheralee Insley have you tried to do àny UA-cam videos I think that would be awesome...I know a little bit about sewing and my husband just bought me a sewing machine but I always had a time trying to thread the machine but I finally got it... I taught my 3 daughters & my son all of the life skills they would let me, in the time I had with them. As a result, all 4 know how to sew, cook from scratch, process laundry (stain removal), clean a house, grow their own food, set a proper table, swim, drive a stick shift car. Plus, so much more. A very gratifying aspect? My adult children are teaching their children. There's still hope in my heart. *smile*

I started watching your channel yesterday. Genius. Loved the video on the blanket scarf. I have a beautiful cashmere blanket scarf that I’ve only worn as a huge scarf. It never occurred to me that it could be a dress and skirt! After watching this video, I won’t me limiting my clothing search to items in my size. Making alterations with a few pins and unique way of tying excess fabric, opens up so many options to expand my wardrobe and make the pieces I have look good. Thank you for your creative insight!
You're seriously the best at explaining instructions and concepts, not only compared to other UA-camrs but just in general. So clear, concise, no BS. You're one of my top favourites!!
I can sew but don’t always want the hassle of getting out the sewing machine. Have just discovered your channel today & already I have gained some great short cut tips.. FANTASTIC Many thanks
I got this video as a suggestion “out of the blue” from UA-cam. I don’t do DIYs, I have seen some videos of dressing for petite people, but that is about it. I am sick and my sewing machine is a heck yo get out and find a place for (I dont have any counter place, desk or dining room table, only a extra flap table I most take out for the sewing machine, since I living small), so normally don’t use it. I do some alterations with hand stitching, but here was so many good tips for especially my oversized clothes after drop in weight, with no effect. Thank you so much! Love from Johanne, Norway 🇳🇴
WOW! I LOVED ALL THE HACKS! THE BROOCH IN THE BACK IS VERY CLEVER. THE TRICK WITH TYING THOSE LITTLE BELTS IN THE BACK TO GIVE THE DRESS SHAPE IS GENIOUS. I NEVER SEEM TO KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH THEM.
My wardrobe just grew! I've lost almost 40 lbs in the last few months & pulled my larger clothes from my closet that didn't fit anymore. They are bagged & ready to go. I just started a new job & need some dressy clothes. I'm diving back into that bag to try these ideas first. Thanks Orly! 💕
This video is EVERYTHING! I am short so almost everything I wear should be altered but I don’t sew. I’m doing this to basically my entire wardrobe tonight! Fun Friday night quarantining! Woot woot!! Thank you, thank you, Orly!
I love this. I do sew, but these tips will come in handy. The tip about using the original blue jean bottom or sleave seam is great and I can use it to sew it, without it looking like a brand new, unworn seam. Saves the hassle of sewing a brand new doubled over seam or removing and reinstalling a cuff and resewing it on, both which is a notorious needle killer, as well. So ingenious! So glad I found your video.
Awesome ideas! The second dress that you took in looked like a bathrobe with the belt the way it was designed to be worn but the way you tied it in the back transformed it completely!
Definitely subbed after seeing this video. I was actually looking for a way to use one of my husband’s shirts for my daughter; to size it down without destroying the shirt. But, holy cow, I just lost a lot of weight, and NOTHING fits, but FJB, I have no money to replace an entire wardrobe. Thank you! I’m already in love with your channel, I’ll be binging your content for the foreseeable future.
I can't believe this video just popped up. Orly, the last time I saw you was on H&F! I always loved your segments. I can use each one of the things in this video. I'm so glad I found you again!
Way back in the day, my mom taught me that safety pin trick, love that it’s still something that’s being done!!! Great video, loved every minute & it brought back some great memories of my mama! Thanks so much for sharing your talent!!! Hugs!!!
Mine 2, she did great things 2 secondhand cloths , she didn't have hardly any money but always look great. She also did a lot of hand sewing. She taught me a lot but had forgotten over the years.
Where have you been all my life? OMG Ive been having all these issues. OK, So, thank you. I'm tall, have long arms, wide shoulders and a belly. Now I can adjust all these things. Thank you so much. Have subscribed. I will now binge your channel
Amazing video !!!! I have tried sewing and oh my- the bobbin is the death of me! LOVE all your ideas!!!! May God continue to move you to help others. 🌺
Wow, beautiful and brilliant. All your modifications accentuated your fit form and recycled a bunch of non-tailored garments. I'm a guy and these ideas have made me a hero with all the ladies in my family when they want to stop by a thrift store, amazing. Now I'm a "fashion consultant" to even my niece's group of friends. Thanks, you made this man relevant again, haha. I'm getting baked goods for my advice now.
Girl, #1 is life changing for me!! I'm only 5'1 so the length of most pants is a real issue for me. I never knew how to alter anything without losing the original hem- all my attempts always looked messy and unpolished, so this is a game changer for me!! Thank you!! ❤️❤️❤️ Oh and you are literally just so beautiful I can't even!!
I love that idea of tying in the back to cinch instead of wrapping around for a belted look. What a great idea! Why have I never thought of this!?!? LOL
Me too! I've always thought those kinda wrap dresses can be quite frumpy but, this way, they look really cute. When I think about it, this is always the way I have styled the belt of my trench coats, with the belt tied at the back, so I'll just apply that same idea to my dresses.
I’ve seen so many clothing hack videos and thought I’d be fast forwarding through yet another but holy crap! There are so many brilliant, quick and super simple ideas here! It opens up my options when thrifting cuz now I know how to make the clothes fit my body! Super stoked, thank you! 🙏🏾
Life changing! I’m short so I always have to roll or hem everything and this gave me some new tools. I particularly appreciated the hack to fix too wide of a shoulder because I run into that issue constantly. I love a good puffed sleeve but not if they sit wide. I’ve returned blouses I now wished I’d kept because now I’d know how to fix the problems and make them flattering! Thanks so much for this!💕
I do this kind of stuff. This stuff works so well for petites! But you've given me more ideas and also improvements on what I'm trying. I surely need to buy some bigger safety pins! Thanks for these great tips!
Where have you been all my life??? I knew how to do most of those, but I'm sure you have many more!! Plus, normalize one of a kind clothing!! Love your content. Positive, upbeat and crammed with wonderful ideas!! God bless!!
These hacks are incredible. I loved them all. I've heard of Skill Share but I forgot about it, so thanks for the reminder. Bravo! Going to share this video
I loved every second of this video Orly! 🤣 I was tacking and pinning a dress last week while wearing it, in front of my full length mirror, and was thinking how Orly-ish I was feeling! I love your hacks, personality and your sense of humor.
Absolutely FANTASTIC tips!!!! Although, I'm sure that everything looks better on your slim, youthful figure!! Thank you for these truly amazing & so easy, 'sew easy' tips!! Have a beautiful day!! ♥️
Not sure if you know it or not but you a are life SAVER!!! I love thrift stores, at least I used to but everytime I find something cute that I like it's always too big for me. You are so kind to share this knowledge with us, thank you so much!!!
Brilliant. I've done the broach-in-the-back gather technique, but beware that the broach can damage chairs and car seats and also pop off because it's being tugged while you're sitting in the car.
You are so fabulous I can barely stand it!! I feel pure joy in finding u!! I am so inspired!! You bring out the creative artist in me!! I love your style and channel!! Great work!! Thank you!!
I like no-sew hacks. I have a pair of jeans where the zipper wouldn't stay up.. I found an extra ring like for keys and put it over the tab of the zipper. That way I zip the pants while holding onto the ring and then place the ring over the button before putting it through the buttonhole and the pants zipper stays up and no embarassment..
oh my gosh i have done all the things you mentioned. Yes I sewed all those things. I just figured out the broach thing and works good with a sweater coat. But been using the safety pins. So so fun! I want to ruche some dress sides why do the elastic? I love sewing hacks and felt kind of guilty doing some ot the safety pins- whoa I am petite. Wish could get a hack to make a too low at waist jean to high waist. I am short so I am going to do the heming the pants I like that other way because I need all the length I can get lol, so dont want cuff to show. Love easy! I have done many years sewing everything to suits. I moved where no room for all that sewing and craft stuff and having a room for it. I plan to spend my time doing other things so got the broaches- yep i love that. I love the tie the belt in the back I did that idk just came into my mind. Geeze I can get a medium at thrift store in med and tweak it wow I love your channel. So much fun- I have had a lifetime of sewing and spending so much time doing all this for my home, and family- from baby layettes. O my gosh getting other ideas I did not think of. My friend has sniper vision lol so can see any tiny bit of a safety pin. Oh well. Doing the belted backs with robes. Oh my gosh this is just what I needed. Got some long skirts looks jush ehhh. Ohhh rusched! I have a bunch of things I want to rusched. I needed this as I am ready to rusche for first time. I watch a fashion and rusched dress best thing ever. I am going to rushed so many thing and would love to see a high low dress. Or top that goes to high but the low is super long in front. My friend and I are stuck on this dress I love but we took it in too much and so many times last year it is long and sort of fish tail. but it goes in a few pins. We cant get the threads out without thashing the beautiful dress. We just cant figure out how to do this dress it goes in at the empire waist and that has too many threads. Thought of this would probably mean sewing but it was expensive and my fav dress. I dont know how we did this mess it is. We thought of cutting and just getting fabric by going to good will and buying some that goes and we added to the sides of the dress- not our fault this time. It was my size and I ordered and also it was a big stretch in my budget. We are left with that. ugg. It worked with sewing, but not crazy about the fabric chosen. Not all size smalls are the same wow but this was like a 0 truly and no give. I really dont want to do but dont know what else to do with the black dress with white flowers. It is a long length. Got the hat and a Micheal Kors hat that matches and even found a belt if I want to use it that matches all. I tell you this is vexing us! I know will probably have to be done with sewing because too small but trying to get all those rows of stiching out many crossed over IDK what the heck we were doing last year when we did this. I will find a solution I hope. Any way love love love the idea of safety pins going to buy some more, lol and show my friend your channel so she can subscribe too. I always did it the hard way and when moved here I just sold my expensive machine and got one incase I wanted to tweak something- But like NY small apt. I have one place in kitchen for the sewing machine. Wish I had know hack for sweater- had one just like it but as a petite I felt like a sasquach in it. Forgive terrible spelling. In a hurry to get a closet full of things done- yes my goal is to get as far as I can and will figure out some things I love but dont flatter. A high low top ugg the top is too much under arms like a bat wing and has a tie belt I end up putting on a crop tank and that does it, but do I always want to have to wear that crop tank top. No. Petite so many things too big on me. Now that I bought a wardrobe of things I thought right for my body type - I found much is wrong thing. Ugggg!
All the no sew alterations are great, but my fave is the one where you put a brooch in the back of a loose blouse, that tip I will use right away !!! thanks :-)
bra tuck is ALWAYS in use for me. Sometimes I want to wear a shirt under a sweater but the shirt is too long. So I just tuck the shirt (not from the hem but right in the middle) and adjust until the hem hits JUST the right spot. Forgot to show that one.
Wow! I’m so glad I discovered your channel. I sew and ideas are fantastic. Especially the idea about hemming your jeans. I always have a problem with that. Now I don’t!
“It was a 2X, which is a little big on me.” Hilarious, my friend. I wish my clothing could be a little big on me in the same way. Anyway, these are fantastic hacks. I’m not a big sewer and my seamstress is EXPENSIVE. Thank you.

Have a cute top that was way oversized when purchased and didn't send back in time for exchange. Held onto it and used safety pins in the sides under the arm area but still wasn't happy, watched your video and how you used a safety pin to rusch the back of a top, did it last night and tried it on and am currently wearing it, it fits So much better and finally happy! Thank you for the tip!

Congratulations🎉
Yayyyyyyyyyyyy congrats on your accomplishments!!!!!
YOU GO, GIRL!!! Yes, congratulations!!🎉
Well done! I am sure you will be beautiful.
Yep, going to stock up on safety pins! 😁😊
Ok this bra tucking trick is everything! Really psyched about finding the channel!!!
I didn’t think I was going to like this channel.. oh hum another diy. BUT I LOVE IT AND LOVE YOU! Thanks for all your very useful help!
This video is EVERYTHING! I am short so almost everything I wear should be altered but I don’t sew. I’m doing this to basically my entire wardrobe tonight! Fun Friday night quarantining! Woot woot!! Thank you, thank you, Orly!
What a beautiful bedroom you have! What a cool trick on that black skirt!
What do you do with the lump of extra fabric?
You are a friggin GENIUS!!! Thank you so much for the tips that are very easy to do and without having to destroy the fabric. Thank you!!
Awesome ideas! The second dress that you took in looked like a bathrobe with the belt the way it was designed to be worn but the way you tied it in the back transformed it completely!
Just watched this video. Oh my goodness, you have given me sooo many ideas! What a talent. Thank you!!!
How I do love cleverness and creativity! Many thanks!❤️❤️❤️
Gawd, you are brilliant! I love the way you think! Thank you for continuing to deliver such great content!
thank you so much!!
I loved those hacks. You are gifted! Thanks and regards from northern Europe.
These seem like great ways to change your look up when you are traveling with a capsule wardrobe. Love this!
I had that Michael Kors shirt that was too big, but gave up and donated it. I wish I had seen this. This is great. Thanks for sharing
I'm getting baked goods for my advice now.
hahah love that! I have another one of these coming out next week! Make sure to turn on your bell so you dont miss it!
How tomake size 22+loose style dress
Dress patterns
Thanks so much . This is the first time I've seen one of your videos but it won't be the last .
Girl, #1 is life changing for me!! I'm only 5'1 so the length of most pants is a real issue for me. I never knew how to alter anything without losing the original hem- all my attempts always looked messy and unpolished, so this is a game changer for me!! Thank you!! ❤️❤️❤️
Oh and you are literally just so beautiful I can't even!!
Maddie!!! I'm so glad I could be helpful!
Very simple diy and it’s temporary until I decide to sew it. Omg! So happy to discover this YT channel. Love it!
I love that idea of tying in the back to cinch instead of wrapping around for a belted look. What a great idea! Why have I never thought of this!?!? LOL
Ji..i
RIGHT?! It seems like something that's obvious common sense but I would've still never thought of it lol.
Me too! I've always thought those kinda wrap dresses can be quite frumpy but, this way, they look really cute. When I think about it, this is always the way I have styled the belt of my trench coats, with the belt tied at the back, so I'll just apply that same idea to my dresses.
@@KAT-dg6el Me too. I found out they still sell similar 80's style brooches and elastic cinches online so I grab a few for nostalgia and usefulness.
I love love love these types of videos that you make. Probably the most informative, helpful video I've seen. THANKS !
I somehow found myself on your channel today for the first time, and now I’m a HUGE fan. Your videos are amazing!
Genuinely, one of the most useful videos I've ever seen on UA-cam. This is excellent!
thank you!!
I’ve seen so many clothing hack videos and thought I’d be fast forwarding through yet another but holy crap! There are so many brilliant, quick and super simple ideas here! It opens up my options when thrifting cuz now I know how to make the clothes fit my body! Super stoked, thank you! 🙏🏾
All of your hints very helpful. Now I will look at the larger sizes in thrift stores with different eyes.
Thanks so much for this!💕
Orly I am astonished by the clever solutions you found. Thank you for teaching them :-)
I do this kind of stuff.
God bless!!
Brilliant! Specially when you take your sister’s, friends, or mothers clothes 😁 . You make it temporary, no marks there. Thanks!!
😂😂
These hacks are incredible. I loved them all.
I've heard of Skill Share but I forgot about it, so thanks for the reminder.
Bravo! Going to share this video
We love you Orly!!! I’ve been following you for so long and I’m amazed at the ideas you share! Can’t wait to see you get to 500K followers and more!
didn't even think to use a brooch. good idea!
I loved every second of this video Orly! 🤣 I was tacking and pinning a dress last week while wearing it, in front of my full length mirror, and was thinking how Orly-ish I was feeling! I love your hacks, personality and your sense of humor.
Orly I have missed seeing you so much. I just found your youtube channel and I am thrilled. As a non sewer this video was good for me.
Absolutely FANTASTIC tips!!!! Although, I'm sure that everything looks better on your slim, youthful figure!!
Thank you for these truly amazing & so easy, 'sew easy' tips!! Have a beautiful day!! ♥️
thank you Melinda!
Not sure if you know it or not but you a are life SAVER!!! I love thrift stores, at least I used to but everytime I find something cute that I like it's always too big for me. You are so kind to share this knowledge with us, thank you so much!!!
I'm subscribing to you now!
This was freaking GENIUS! Absolutely brilliant!
And I have tons of safety pins!! First time I have all the materials 🤪😄

Omg...the broach hack just changed my life! Thank u! What a great useful video❤
Brilliant. I've done the broach-in-the-back gather technique, but beware that the broach can damage chairs and car seats and also pop off because it's being tugged while you're sitting in the car.
Also safety pins pop open. I've been stuck.
You are so fabulous I can barely stand it!! I feel pure joy in finding u!! I am so inspired!! You bring out the creative artist in me!! I love your style and channel!! Great work!! Thank you!!
Oo love these hacks! I've done the jeans one before but a lot of the others were new to me and I will definitely use them. Thanks!
Glad you like them!
Brilliant. I lov these hacks. I've lost some weight and have some nice big clothes I can still wear using these ideas. Thank you.💓
I like no-sew hacks.
Ugggg!
So useful! Sometimes I get great pieces so inexpensively that going to the tailor just doesn’t make sense... at times...loved this!!!
🌸 I absolutely agree 👍🏼
Liking for that rolled tshirt hack alone!! You're changing the game tbh
God, I luv you, Orly!!! Not only do you have great ideas you’re funny as hell!!!! Happy Friday!
haha thanks mama!
The spine & Red dress has peplum sleeves. Love your tips 😄
All the no sew alterations are great, but my fave is the one where you put a brooch in the back of a loose blouse, that tip I will use right away !!! thanks :-)
so glad!!
This is the most helpful clothing video I have ever watched, and I have watched a lot. You are very talented and relatable.
I agree. This the first time I have understood how to alter jeans and keep the original hem. I like the t-shirt tip very much too.
The bra tuck! That's the best no sew idea! I have so many dresses that would look cute as a top with jeans or slacks!
bra tuck is ALWAYS in use for me. Sometimes I want to wear a shirt under a sweater but the shirt is too long. So I just tuck the shirt (not from the hem but right in the middle) and adjust until the hem hits JUST the right spot. Forgot to show that one.
@@OrlysChannel that's genius! I'm gonna have to try that one too! Especially since it's starting to cool down in the South USA
Wow, these were really easy and useful techniques to quick fix oversized clothes. Thanks so much.
Wow! I’m so glad I discovered your channel. I sew and ideas are fantastic. Especially the idea about hemming your jeans. I always have a problem with that. Now I don’t!
Thank you for all the great ideas!! You are fun to watch, and you make it easy to follow and understand in a quick way!
“It was a 2X, which is a little big on me.” Hilarious, my friend. I wish my clothing could be a little big on me in the same way. Anyway, these are fantastic hacks. I’m not a big sewer and my seamstress is EXPENSIVE. Thank you.
Hilarious indeed. 4 women your size could fit in that 2x.
You are a genius. Really supercool ideas. Thanks for sharing your video. I can't sew,so these tips are going to be beneficial for me. You are smart and skilful. Keep going!
Great tips! I've been using the method (I always used safety pines) for taking in a blouse for many years, but the decorative pin is a great idea
I'm so glad I stumbled across your channel. You are AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you Orly! for showing these alterations! im 4'10" and a lot of my jackets are too long on my arms and these is a fantastic way to shorten them.
Love your tips!! Thanks you!! Would you ever consider doing a book on your styling tips? They are so simple, easy to follow and always deliver an excellent finishing look!
I’ve been sewing all my life and I love all your tips!
7:52 Now this is what I call tucking the shirt!! 😂😂😂
You go girl! ❤️
hahah
This is epic! Get 'er Done!
@@OrlysChannel but do you tuck the ends into your socks?
I’m sending your channel to all my friends! Everybody should know about this bunch of neat things to do!
You made my life!! I cannot sew and u answered my age old question of “How the H*ll do “they” keep the bubble hem when shortening?”... New Subscriber Here🖐🏼... One of My fave videos thus far and I am no novice to UA-cam ! Thx!!
awesome! it's a 'try before you buy' type approach!!! it also means that you can buy stuff that is too big and 'tailor' it to fit you! so inspirational!!
I can only see buttons, Fox holes, and hem kids pants so this was SO useful for me!!!! I’m 5 feet and the ankle and sleeve cuff trick is exactly what I need! Love the ruching idea also bc v neck tees are usually a bit boxy and long on me. Such amazing tips with pins !! Thank YOU 😊
I am short waisted and have a tummy ... it is difficult to get the right fit on lots of clothing. (one place will fit but another won't) These pin up and tie up hacks are terrific! (I don't have a sewing machine.) Glad I stumbled upon this video.
I love this! It is such a nice way to level up the clothes you already have! I love the creative energy you have! I always think that once I get tired of a piece of clothing it’s time to move on but no! I can always make small changes that create an entire new outfit:0 Thank you for all of the fun cool tips. Can’t wait to try them at home :)
Thank you so much!!
I purchased a shirt for a weeding this weekend and they do not make the sleeve length in my size. The shirt is a specific color and finding this awesome shirt was difficult and I found one at the last minute, didn't give me enough time to have it altered. Your video saved me. So happy I found this video. If i decide to wear skirts I know how to alter them for me Hahaha! Seriously, you save me!! Thank you, Gil
Love these hacks, I do know how to sew, but this looks so much easier. 😍
Sorry, I didn't know how many people are stupid 😫😫😫
Orly, you are the Bomb. 😀😀All of these hacks are awesome, especially pinning the shoulders, I had no idea. Thank you
Omg, this was truly useful! 🙌Thank you! Specially the jean hem and jacket cuffs, awesome!
Orly, your content is always sheer genius! This vid shows great ways to save time, try 'restyle' options and custom-fit pieces you'd otherwise need to pass on. I look forward to every new video...your ideas, demos and explanations are "da bomb!!!!"
