Вставка
- Опубліковано 21 гру 2022
- It’s time for the finally assembly of the MK7 1.0L EcoBoost engjne. First I need to check the engine is all in time after fitting the new timing belt in the last video and if that checks out it’s on with reassembly and the engine can go back in for the final time.

Great video and can’t wait to see it start now!
Amazing video mate!
Thank you mate 🙏🏻
Good luck mate! You have gone about everything with great care. It will run.
Well put together video, you know your stuff
Thanks! 😃 I’m just learning as I go 🛠
Cleaning/painting the box and bay has made such a difference! Can’t wait for it to fire up! 🤞🏼
Amazing series so far, really enjoyed watching you rebuild this engine! Keep up the good work!
Thanks mate!
Another class video, keep it up Sir
Thank you my man 🙏🏻
I think that's an amazing video - really impressive what you have done.
Thank you, I’m glad you enjoyed it!
Great work
Quality video as always can’t wait for the first start. Wish you could upload more frequently
Me too, used to be able to do weekly videos but they get more and more complex so it’s difficult 😩
Fingers crossed for startup bud 🤞

Loving this series of videos and watching your journey with this EcoBoost. Hope you had an amazing Christmas break and this project didn’t leave you scratching your baubles 😉
Can’t wait for the next video.
of course it will start :)
Here’s hoping 🤞🏻
In the states my local Ford dealership and Castrol have no clue what I'm talking about when I ask about "wet timing belt" additives. So I'm just going to 🙏 that Motorcraft 5w-20 Full Synthetic for the past 40k has been kind to the belt 😂
almost there mike ..lookin good pal ….st150 next 😂👍
Yeah mate the 150 is getting the works!! 💰
This engine's coolant level sensor (if it even has one) is severely misplaced, which is what leads to failures like this. Mine leaked coolant (hose came off) without me realising and didn't alert me until the engine seized.
👍😃
Done a great job, helped me do head gasket, timing belt etc on my focus 1.0 ecoboost, its all back together but the thing wont start now ! Was running fine before hand apart from loosing coolant... it turns over but womt fire up, it goes to if you fully press gas pedal ? ? ANY HELP or idea what would or could be causing this....
Great rebuild series. Any idea what Ford will charge to replace timing belt on my 2013 focus.
What is the purpose of the vvt locking tools? Where should they be oriented? If am just replacing the timing belt do I need to lock the vvt?
Thanks
I hope you're all sorted with your project now. I've been doing a similar work, originally blocked oil pump strainer, suspected head gasket leak and twice I've had the engine apart. Unfortunately, all my painstaking work has come to nothing. Water is somehow getting into all three cylinders (as it was before I started the current work). Have the head resurfaced, did some some static water leak checks, new head gasket and bolts, checked flatness of the block etc. and still hasn't cured the problem.
I'm assuming now there is a crack somewhere in the cylinder head allowing coolant into the exhaust manifold and then into the bores via the valve openings. Absolutely gutted.
Turned out the head is cracked. Have sourced a used replacement - hopefully that's not cracked!
Hello mate, great work. Wondering, does the variable valves (vanos) has exactly position and if yes what is it? Keep up the great work.
I don’t know sorry mate I didn’t touch the VVT stuff
Hi mate. Great video! just wondered what the torque was on the VVT solenoids bolts, and did you use new seals. I've got one that's weeping. Any input is greatly appreciated!
7Nm. I didn’t use new seals no. Hope that helps 👍🏻
Very well done
Thank you 🙏🏻
Merry Xmas, are you going to do a breakdown of how much this cost you in time and money?
Merry Christmas mate 🎄 I will be once it’s running and I’ve got all the body panels etc yeah. Time might be a difficult one 😂
Hello, it would be of great help if you could provide me with me an estimate of how much the engine weighs. I'm looking for it, but I can't find anything with what you tell me more or less what it weighs once it's out. Thank you very much. I really like the work you're doing. It's almost here. Regard
Dry, 90-100kg I believe, that’s what it said on Wikipedia
Noticed you didn't check the valve clearances. Should be ok as you were very methodical and only did light lapping. On my replacement head the exhaust valve clearances look too small. Trying to find the spec for the clearances at the moment but not having any luck on the internet
In all honesty I didn’t even know I had too, about a week after I did the job I found out I needed to do it and it was too late 🤦🏻♂️
Valve clearances (cold)
Inlet 0.21 to 0.30 mm
Exhaust:
CM5G FA, FB and FC camshaft 0.31 to 0.37 mm
All other camshafts 0.38 to 0.47 mm
Hope that helps
After watching your videos I"m not touching my 1.0ltr ecoboost engine!
God help Ford mechanics when a faulty fiesta rolls in!
They just replace the engine, but I hate the modern throw-away attitude. The amount I’ve done this for (minus my time) will be quite surprising I think
Too much crap about these engines ,
Absolute dreadful engines what ford were thinking of god only knows🤦♂️
Rubbish
@@clueless6559 you tell that to all the customers around the country that have scrap engines in these cars. Lost count how many we have done at work utter bags of bolts. Then they had a great idea NOT of using a wet belt on a transit 🤦♂️
@@Honky_Konky_Phooey Tonnes out these without problems , most are caused by stupid owners that have no idea about there car , just trust dealers and worst fast fit places, there is no excuse there is plenty of good information out there ,
Use warm water on the injector seals.
