Citroen C3 CRASH TEST FAIL: ZERO STARS (model produced in Brazil)

- A crash test fail ! The Citroen C3, produced in Brazil, was rated zero stars. The C3 offers as standard 2 airbags and Electronic Stability Control (ESC) achieved 30.52% in Adult Occupant, 12,10% in Child Occupant, 49.74% in Pedestrian Protection and Vulnerable Road Users and 34.88% in Safety Assist. The car was tested in frontal impact, side impact, whiplash, pedestrian protection and ESC. This safety equipment is the basic and only safety equipment specification available for this model.
The frontal impact showed weak protection to the driver chest and marginal to the passenger chest probably explained by the lack of pretensioners. The structure and the footwell area were rated as unstable. Pole impact was not performed as the car did not offer standard side head protection, not even as optional. Whiplash protection to the adult neck showed poor performance. Child occupant showed almost full protection, but the dynamic points were affected because of the poor marking of ISOFIX anchorages for Child Restraint Systems (CRS). Airbag warning marking in for the passenger seat does not meet Latin NCAP requirements and airbag disconnection in passenger seat position is not possible. Some CRSs failed in the installation assessment. The car does not prove to meet UN 127 or GTR 9 pedestrian protection regulations. Pedestrian protection subsystems showed marginal to good protection for the head with poor protection and weak protection areas closer to the windscreen edge and A pillar. Pelvis protection was adequate to good and leg protection was marginal. Seat Belt Reminder (SBR) in the front seat does not meet Latin NCAP requirements and it is not available for the passenger side and on the rear seat row.

Stellantis really is doing its best to produce the unsafest cars on the market. Even the Chinese automakers are doing a better job
the European version will be safer and will use a different steel
@@tristanrabier8608 are South American lives less important than European ones? I'm asking as a European. I know that cost reduction is important in these markets, but cutting on safety? How many families will be destroyed, because of these unsafe vehicles?
@@thejecs8It's a bit like Dacia in Europe. Even in South America, the structure of the C3 is not bad for their crash test standards. But it lacks a lot of airbags.
That's not why you have to hate stellantis since lots of other brands do that for poor countries.
But otherwise I agree with you
stellantis makes very safe cars in europe and even if they have 4 stars instead of 5 (not enough deformation in frontal crash test against a wall for the most part) they have proven that in the event of a violent impact in real life against another vehicle, they sometimes manage better than a 5-star vehicle thanks to their resistance. The euro n cap tests are quite realistic but do not take into account certain important resistance criteria (rollovers for example)
@@tristanrabier8608 I don't hate stellantis, I own a citroën and my mother a Peugeot, I like the design of their cars, but the last crash tests have been disappointing.
I am lucky not to purchase unsafe vehicles and also there was an issue during booking later dealership complications in PPS Citroen Bangalore worst experience.
What was the issue with dealership?
and the Jeep Wrangler has only become 1 star from the EuroNCAP, because the car has not enough Safety Assists. Of course, it is a rockclimber, a tank and not a luxury car. From the US NHTSA the Wrangler is rated with 3/4 stars. Are the cars in the US unsafer than in Europe? EuroNCAP and LatinNCAP are not indepentend audit companies. Be careful before you make false assumptions. Please inform yourself carefully beforehand. ☝🤔
they should add rating in minus too..........
also for comments
Zero star becouse there is no allaroun and side airbags there is no no electronic assisstant, no zero star becouse bad construction, construction is god...
the European version will be safer and will use a different steel
@tristanrabier8608 i test drove indian version. Its metal bonnet is so heavy, i think its easy 4 star build.
Zero stars? This would at least be a four star vehicle 15 to 20 years ago.
It's not 15 or 20 years ago.
@@LoveFineArts Of course I know that. Things are improving.

man, i see passenger not getting even reached, lateral crash not hitting the passenger, cars are made to deform, to absotrb energy, and the moose test, cant doest lift the weels, i dont really understand the 0 rate, u reading this, answer
Safety is not an immutable thing. The state of the art in safety moves forward and the tests reflect that.
The side impact looks better than in the Hyundai Ioniq 5
The background music is more creepy than walking in a graveyard, outside which the C3 Aircross stopped. 🥵🥵🥵
For Europe, the structure of this car will be redone to meet European crash test safety standards using a different steel.
And people in Latin America have no right to drive a safe car? This is real shame for Citroen!
@@Max-si8sy We are already used to it. Automakers sell terrible cars at exorbitant prices in Brazil.
@@MarcoAurelioBusato this is terrible and absolutely unacceptable!
Yes, in Brazil cars like this are sold for R$70,000 or more, and the minimum wage is 1,200 as far as I remember, no one who is poor has cars with 0 kilometers here, only if the person gets into debt@@Max-si8sy
@@Max-si8sy Now the manufacturers sell what they are allowed to sell. If you want more protection, you have to change the laws. And that is the government's responsibility.
Cant believe its europian brand. Scoring 0 stars. Its surely going to faile in India. No safety, no mileage no features.
C3 got 0 stars in latin NCAP
And e-C3 got 0 stars in global NCAP
Look at those windshields on the driver and passenger side
I give it 0,5 stars my mother died next to me in that car
These french car brands are very different, they produce beautiful cars and sometimes they are bad.
its for the asian, latin and african market safety for cars there doesnt exist

@@TheMrLeast that's good to hear, I didn't know that.
Only Two airbags? This is a shame. Automotive multinationals earn a lot of money in countries like Brazil, producing

A contrução do carro é boa!!
The amount of cost cutting when it came tk features in this car is so immense and yet it scored a zero. Meh
Features also poor compared to its rivals and now Crash test zero🙄🙄🙄.who Gonna purchase this car?
The question is are you the right buyer or are you biased one? The crashtest in LatinNCAP is something voluntarily done by the manufacturers. The tests are not approved by the independent authorities. And LatinNCAP is a non-independent company as it is sponsored by different automotive clubs of latin america and other companies that following the interests of their members and not those of different car buyers. ☝
Not recommended to buy in Southeast Asia, much better toyota avanza
It depends where you buy, Singapore has the European model which is more safer.
Brasillllllllllllll
Indian car, not Brazilian car, here receive reinforcements and improvements
vergonhaa
Verifique a realidade antes de escrever algo tao ofensivo. ☝
The European version was rated 4 Stars
Honestly, every buyer of a new car deserve the safest possible version of the vehicle - regardless of where they live. In the best of worlds, a Brazilian C3 should be as safe as a European produced one.
Unfortunately, the european C3 is completely unrelated to ours. Citroen brought to Brazil a vehicle developed for India and called it a C3. The previous C3 generations sold here were fully European and were safer than this
@@thetrooper2159 Thank you for the information. Maybe Stellantis and Citroën should care more about their customers?
The Showroom’s say Citreon has never produced any car less than 4 stars, this video speaks up the truth.
@@daniellindstrand8932 it is
Hahahahaha 😂😂😂😂
what about the validity of these tests on Indian C3 Model?
Definitely i seen indian model, test drove it, indian one is easily 4 star build. Bonnet is very heavy .
Out of 5 how many stars it get??
0 stars
citroen and peugeot are trash
good ✅
Shame on Stellantis!!!!! For them no lives matter!!!
shame on you for writing this without knowing the exact reasons for this video. Stellantis is number 1 in Latin America. Have you ever wondered if the competitors is not behind this fake campaign? ☝🤔
Just launced in india😢
Indian made c3 looks heavy so should be scoring 3 to 4 stars
Every star is fiction.....
Prefiero un auto antiguo como un kia sportage 2012 es mas seguro.
