The Dalek that got me into collecting was the Talking Death Dalek and it was also the first Classic Dalek I ever owned (I had some New Series Daleks before)

Dude, we gotta compare dalek armies, I think mine is close to that I dunno if it is or equal to, a little worse for wear some missing parts but i've got a pretty substantial collection myself. Got 12 is 12" daleks, 7 18" ones, 4 having a full set of parts. 40+ 3.75" ones lost count of how many 5" ones I have, I have at least enough to fill 3 shelves and have 2 rows on each shelf. Got plenty of customs and am buying the re-releases of the doctor/dalek audio toy sets.

Made my own thumbnail for this which is the intro screen, I'm worried it's too busy and it took 3 days to finish. I hope you like the first part the 60s and 70s daleks. Its roughly basic stuff, I'm unfortunately not an experienced youtuber like you are. But this project actually helped me design a new PFP for my FB, IG and YT channel. Based it on the space museum dalek.😂

Here’s a suggestion for a custom dalek. Terry nation owned a dalek with a red top now what I mean by this is grab a standard 60s dalek and paint the top half to save some time or go full on invasion earth 2150 A.D or perhaps a 70s dalek with a 60s eyestalk

I have to ask some questions because I see you must know alot about this: Do all 2005 Dalek figures (the less proportional ones) have removable plungers, guns and eye stalks? And do all standard gold/bronze Daleks with dark green bumper/bases have blue light printed in the eye?
Hi, thank you very much! The appendages are a lot easier to remove on the chunky earlier figures, yes, except the remote controlled ones, which seem to have more solidly attached arms (the eyes still come off though). And no, they do not. The earliest chunky daleks (in the genesis ark four pack) and early mutant reveal daleks have black eyes. the RC ones also have black eyes (with a hole in the middle). all the later releases, including the darker bronze coloured ones have blue eyes. I hope that helps.
Yes, they are all customs. No red Daleks appeared on TV in the classic era of doctor who, but they did appear in comics and on novelisation artwork, which is what those colours are based off.

Needless to say it didn't take me long before i started buying up Dalek sets again from B&M shops. Managed to get set's 1, 2, 3 and 4 as well as the "Coal Hill School" set and the newer Davros from "The Witch's Familiar". I'm hoping to get my hands on more to try my hand at making some customs as well.

Sorry to be a nuisance about Dalek ranks again but in your 60s Dalek hierarchy what position would the TV21 Black Dalek Leader hold? My thoughts were that it’s like a general or a security chief but where would you put the Golden Emperor’s equivalent to Darth Vader.
Hi, no problem at all - happy to discuss it! It's a bit awkward, obviously as I had settled on the previous heirarchy for all future videos. If I had to fit him into that, I would possibly say the chief of the elite security (the blue-domed chase guard daleks), but for future videos, if I feature him, I will probably use a simplified hierarchy (dead planet Daleks only) in which he is the second in command to the Emperor.

good question, until recently I'd never really seen a 5'' Dalek truly capture the look of those daleks - one day I might make some. I've got the mechanus Dalek set of course but that hadn't been released when this was made!
Good question! I really like my 60's customs (such as the Outer Space and Black Dalek from the comics), but I also love the Necros and Asylum paradigm Daleks. It's so hard to pick just one! Not included in this video are the Mechanus Daleks and my TV21 custom Emperor - both of those are in my top 10.

The red top was a 1965 movie dalek with custom lights. They also (for some reason) made figures of it.

Iirc there was one red dalek in the Dalek's Master Plan (The Time Controller), which you couldn't see on scren for monochromatic reasons.
