Most comments are super old oh well, but in slight defense for the guy driving the srt10 - My buddy owns one and shifting from 2nd on is a nightmare. It is a little difficult to shift this thing when racing, quickly. Now on the other end, with all this money spent- I would have hoped he climbed out of that steep learning curve by then lol
@@dustinreeser8876 True, that's why I got rid of the factory shifter and replaced it with a short throw, adjustable shifter.

Depending on how much power the truck is actually making (likely north of 700), maybe he doesn't want to break it. Especially if he had just recently finished it.

They have T56's which are one of the most common manual transmissions out there, the clutches are no more expensive than any other manual car.

@@benjaminvargas1000 The T-56 has NOTHING on the transmission inside of the blackwing (Tremec-6060). Its QUICKER/FASTER/LUXURY (Than ANY hellcat/demon/redeye/amg 64, m5 cs, audi A8, GT500, etc. and much much more RARE than ANY charger or challenger EVER created. With ONLY 250 cars produced a year (In ALL colors, 60% which are manual). I grew up a mo par fan boy because of my parents. Then i owned a Stratus once upon a time and new i'd NEVER buy a dodge EVER again. BTW the blackwings are basically C8's with 4 doors + Luxury. ALOT of the same IDENTICAL parts are used. Oh did i mention the motor is built by hand by ONE person straight from the factory+Autographed. 😏

I had a regular cab in 08' when gas was over $4 a gallon. It was a fun truck to drive but after a year I traded it in for a SRT 6.1 Challenger. Truck only got 9 mpg and 13 highway. Shit had to go......

Only if it was swapped out for a very modern automatic. Automatics back in the day where a little bit slower than manuals. So the guy having the manual on the truck makes the race actually a little bit More fair (in this case).

Facts. If you have never owned one then y'all don't know how long the throws are. That 2nd to 3rd shift is brutally spaced and I used to go from 2nd to 5th all the time.....Until I replaced the factory shifter with an adjustable short throw kit.

@@15subarusti59 i gotta a 2011 wrx, i understand how the shfiter is short and easy to switch gears for the most part. Going from 5th to second would be tough but for any manual it probably would be. Ive driven manual trucks tho and you gotta be pretty careful with each shift, i went from 1st to 4th my first time driving one cause the shifter was all sorts of fucked up but when i felt it i popped into second. I was gonna buy the truck when i first seen it but that was my deal breaker.

i have owned 2 of these SRT10 trucks, i am not impressed with the shifter, but i could shift circles around this guy.i raced one of mine on the street, and this dude does not know how to shift to save his life- even with the stock shifter these can be power shifted, i had mine at the track and ran an auto SRT10 and put damn near a car on him. lesson, never spend big bucks on mods on something you can't drive.
