Cutting out the Baffle with a hole saw. Interested to see how it affects the bike afterwards. Stay tuned for more as I continue enjoying every second of the ride on this bike.
Thanks! I am really glad I did it. I would love to have the money to just go buy a set of basani sweepers... This has been a great mod that I have been very happy with. No problems mechanically and made the bike have better presence on the road.
still going and been running really good! mild popping on hard decel, but nothing that has made me worried or acted like the bike is gonna get hurt. In no way does it make me worried
I have been running non ethanol gas for a couple tanks now. No real noticeable change in the popping. I rode with some other guys and many bikes have the same pop on decel. I test drive a Harley that was way worse. I think it's just gonna do it unless I reflash the ecu
Thanks! I thought so too. I will say i get more attention on my little bolt than some of my buddies get on there harleys... its not about attention, but that shows how nice the bike looks in the eyes of the general public.
So far there are very small amounts of backfire on deceleration but it's not consistently happening. I would classify it more as a popping than a full on backfire. Not like the movie uncle buck... the exhaust note is so much better and it gives a much better riding experience in my opinion
Hi Matt , I hope you still have your Bolt. I just got one recently and love the ride. I see you have done this video a couple of years ago. Any cons to get till now? And pros besides the great a cost efficient "upgrade" . Much appreciated
I have a stock 2014 that I just bought and want to do this or completely cut off the very end of the stock muffler and totally remove the entire baffle. I don't want to purchase a fuel commander or ECU at this time but am worried about burning up the valves. keep me posted please
Michael Taylor no troubles at all so far. The bike runs great and sounds even better. It's never gonna be a Harley but it is such a vast improvement from the stock sound and feel.
Michael Taylor I’m thinking about slashing my stock exhaust at a 45 angle, if you could let me know how it’s been running good and if the exposure is bad for it or whatever, thanks
If you’re still wondering, its the seat and the handlebars. The Bolt-R is basically a Bolt with upgraded suspension components. The C spec has those components but also the seat with end-cap and clip-on handlebars for a more leaned-over riding position.
Erik g I used a 1.5 inch. Or 1 1/2" bit. It was a Milwaukee bit I bought at Home Depot. I already had a hole saw kit just needed the right size and the extension.
@@bjorn1583 I second this. Bought the bassani sweepers because it sounded so cool on youtube, but in reality it is unnecessarily loud and I ended up selling them.
Try it on my bolt
Very happy with sound and performance
That actually sounds pretty good for what you did. Wow.
thank goodness there is something that can be done to the factory exhaust.. it sounds great btw

Matt I wonder if you ran non ethanol gas if it would help. Go to PureGasDOTorg to find a local station.

Did this to mine back in 2014 and I never had an issue.
First mod I did was remove the sticker from the gas tank.... :)
It sounds good, I would like to hear it running
That is a great looking bike in that color. You did well.

Matt Smith thanks for the update man. Sounds good. I was going to search for someone who had previously asked you or ask you myself.
That’s not a backfire. It’s a deceleration pop. Doesn’t hurt the engine.
Thanks for the video. Been considering something like this. I think I’m gonna go with a slip on exhaust
What size hole saw bit I see in the previous comments you said 1.5 and 1.25 inch just want to clarify thanks
I wish it were easier to put it back stock. But this is pretty cool.

Nice easy mod. Sounds better.
Still have it? Any eventual problems??
Does anyone know if the end cap of the exhaust comes off
Hi there. making that modification affect the performance of the bike?
Did you have problems since then? I just bought 1 week ago a xv 950 and im not sure should i do it or not XD
I’m trying to do a comparison with this mod and the cobra slip on anyone got some words of advice for this
Any change in gas mileage? How do the plugs look?
Hows she running if u still have her what mileage have u put on, any issues?
What decibel???
did you get any popping?
How is it still going? Any damage? How many miles you put on after
well,it will become hard on her valves,,and you have affected the back pressure in your exhaust!!!! Gef

I ended up "slash cutting" the end at a 45°anngle and removing the baffle. Sounds great. I have like 2,000 miles on it since doing it. no problems

I have a 2015 bolt with 18,000 miles with a shorty exhaust which is basically straight piped and sounds phenomenal and runs amazing still to this day
What's the difference between bolt vs bolt c spec and bolt r spec I'm confused
If you’re still wondering, its the seat and the handlebars. The Bolt-R is basically a Bolt with upgraded suspension components. The C spec has those components but also the seat with end-cap and clip-on handlebars for a more leaned-over riding position.
What size hole did you end up cutting? 1.25"?

yes 1.25"
Lol you bought the c spec
Is this legal?
No
@@felipediazreyes4715 A little late😂 but thanks anyway.
alegal only when police are there, police not there - Habibi evrything legal
How much power do you lose with this "modification"?
jinks6dmosher I haven’t noticed any power loss. It’s running great and I am much happier with the sound and feel of the bike now.
You cheap fools. Just go and buy the bassani exhaust. The bike is made to run lean from the factory.
not everyone wants to wake the dead
Not everyone got your money
this is fine , you asshole. by the way your bassani give you nothing without a flash so sit down and shut the fuck up you colossal cretin
