I test rode a 2014 Bolt with the Bassani exhaust. Looks good and sounds good. No problem when you are riding, but as soon as you stop and put that right foot on the ground your right leg touches the hot exhaust.
@Thomas B Unfortunately for me i half to have either my right or both my feet on the ground. Half of my left foot was ripped apart due to a disease i have. If i put all the weight on my left it's painful and i fear of dropping the bike due to the intense nerve damage. So this information is extremely helpful for me especially.
This was only a issue the first few takes I rode it. I use my brain and realize where I can put my foot down now its not an insane issue as most people think it is.
I bought the Bassani pipes (passenger peg problem solution: I took one bolt off the peg/angled it. Now the leg isn't in the way of the Bassani) not the best solution but it works. I placed the old heat OEM heat shield from the exhausts (painted them black) on the Bassani also not to burn my leg off & makes summers not that bad.
I grew up on Yamaha’s, but I’ve never liked the way metric v- twins sounded. That’s why I’ve been riding Harleys for a while. Now that I’ve heard the Bolt, I think I’m going to go that route. It’s worth every penny for the reliability and low maintenance compared to the Harleys.
Regarding the heat issue when not moving. 1) They make heat shields for it that doesn't change its appearance. 2) You can heat wrap it also. Even dye the wrap to your liking beforehand. 3) They also make heat wraps that stretch over your pant calf/thigh on Amazon for like $20-30. The trick with the passenger peg is reversing them on either side. That gives the clearance. Maybe a little grinder. I was contemplating the Bassanis for these reasons but prefer the more Potato sound than my nice Cobra. But keep the slip on for emissions hehe.
They will sound different under load which is when you'll hear them most so it would be nice to hear that. One thing I don't like about the Bassani is the different length pipes... from a tuning standpoint that's not ideal.
Your right because when you get low it will almost or might scrape. Plus you can’t put your right foot down. Since it is so high it will burn your leg and passengers can’t ride.
TheRealReviewz........ lol - Your answer has absolutely Nothing to do with Diesel415's comment...... and by the way, he IS correct in his comment... read my comment at the top (currently, on July 13th 2018) of this section.
+Joe Gama they are loud and sound amazing. Twice as loud as Vance and Hines but you can't have passenger and can't put right leg down on stops. Trade off?
Joe Gama..... You (along with just about everyone else on here) need to get past the "great looks and sound" thing... read my post up at the top (currently - July 13th, 2018).... in short, exhaust pipes of UNEQUAL length, Especially on V-Twins... causes tuning issues, among other undesirable and unwanted internal engine issues.
Ok so i have this exauat and here is a couple things. I have the heat wrapped model and literally after a gew rides i learned where to put my feet so its really not a issue unless your like 5'1 or something. Second you can switch the pegs and that will literally fix the issue and it wont touch the pipes at all and that is all good. I never have had any other besides stock and i love them.
Beautiful and is what I want as a first bike. I am 6'2 so how is that for my heigh. Second part is finding one in UK after euro 5 emission crap rule with is also not rusted around 😕
thank you fresh laws for answering a question i have been wondering about which is how the vance and hines exhaust system sounds on the yamaha bolt! I like the sound on the vance and hines tho but Keep on making dope videos!!!
I had seen some other videos for the Vance and Hines for the Bolt and some people had back pressure problems, I was wondering if you had this problem. I was thinking that it must get re-tuned after you put on the new pipes so this problem does not happen. I just bought these pipes for my 2014 Bolt R-Spec want to avoid any problems that I have seen on youtube.
+Wade Whitworth No issues ever because right when I installed those I put a Vance and Hines Fuelpak installed with it and programmed. Watch my other videos for that. But no issues
What is a milli hertz battery? Are you talking about Mah? That stands for milli Ampere hour or milli Amp hour. It is a measure of a battery's energy storage capacity. If you think of a battery as a small fuel storage tank, which in a sense it is, mAh a measure of how much "fuel" the battery holds.
+WeekendWarrior No wires were showing unless they were there already. Just a replacement side connection plate for exhaust. Everything was like it was. Simple Installation.

I got the same blue 2015 bolt with the same Bassani exhaust. Awesome video though.. was totally looking for something like this before I got my exhaust. By the way you can get custom passenger pegs for the bolt that will work with the Bassani
+BTMFDR3750 Awesome thanks for the input. I will look at those and will put up a link. Please Subscribe and let me know of your want anything else reviewed
Where would you get the custom passenger pegs for the Bassani exhaust. I'm looking at getting the exhaust but also want to keep the passenger pegs. Is there a link you can post? I have had no luck finding anything so far.
What about for the other bolt with Bassani exhaust? I'm picking a 14 Bolt with Bassani exhaust and V&H airpod and it doesn't have fuel controller. Should I get it and which one should I get?
Thanks for watching. Vance and Hines is way better and sounds clean especially with the V02 intake. Bassani burns your leg and takes away your passenger pegs.
So I dont understand why everyone keeps saying you can't have back pegs I currently ride a 16 bolt with bassani sweepers and still have my factory rear pegs on it yes I had to trim a corner down on the pegs but they still work
regarding the Bassani: Does it still use the stock air sensor? Or do you have to tuck it away? I know the V&H uses it. Great comparison ! Thanks for this video! Both sound awesome!
My only complaint is the V&H exhaust costs about $1000 cad... I got my 2015 for $4250 cad with only 10,000kms (6000 miles) so like... 25% of the cost of the bike to upgrade my exhuast? wtf
Can you have saddlebags with the vance&hines pipes? just got a bolt and already want get the v&h but I also have saddle bags and want to make sure I can keep them on the bike with the pipes
Can’t really compare 2 different styles of pipes. Those bassani’s are drag pipe style. Of course it’s going to be louder. Drag pipes are short and very loud compared to other pipe styles
Ivan's flash (ECU flash) will take care of the problem without buying a fuel management system. You also get more benefits from flashing the ECU (more responsive throttle response, smoother shifting, etc). Hope this helps
TheRealReviewz..... and Everyone else. The one thing that is MUCH More important than the "looks and sound" that you totally missed.... is the fact that the V&H set up is of EQUAL Length pipes.... which in plain English means that each of the two cylinders is much more likely to develop equal power and torque, compared to unequal length systems... whether they're from Bassani or any other After-market supplier of exhaust systems. The reason you see equal length (measure them from the header flange to the muffler Outlet) pipes from the factory, is for that very reason.... equal power from each cylinder, while keeping pressure balances in-check on the crankshaft. Also, exhaust systems with unequal length pipes can also create an imbalance with the intake system, causing one cylinder to run leaner than the other. For even firing, you MUST have exhaust pipes of the SAME volume (total length and diameter) for each cylinder. If your headers/manifolds/pipes aren't of the same volume, the back-pressure per cylinder will differ and you'll have inconsistent running and heating characteristics within each cylinder along with the aforementioned pressure imbalances on the crankshaft between the two cylinders.
He starts the bike at 3:09
That's all I was interested in. Thanks :)
Thanks
Thanks

I hate vloggers like these. We came here for the bike sound. Not your wanker of a voice 🤦🏻♂️
The Bassani pipes look like they'd be good for frying your right leg!
it is. And it is extremely loud. I bought one, used it for 2 months and I had to sell it.
I actually prefer the sound of the V&H . it's more destinctive
+Lee Bradley I agree completely. I live it
+Lee Bradley So true and not as noisey.
It sounds more modern and aggressive

no one is here for the phone mount my guy
Simplicity I hear that phone mounts change exhaust tone
Jordan Cailes no one cares
Jordan Cailes it’s okay I liked your joke lol
Lmao
Blahaha
Love the Vance!!!
The bassani sounds way better.
only downfall is you have to take out the passenger pegs...

The bassanis look great and love the sound!
They are loud thou.... and pop a lot. really hot at red lights, can't put foot down, and no passenger pegs fit. So that's the trade off.
+Joe Gama they are loud and sound amazing. Twice as loud as Vance and Hines but you can't have passenger and can't put right leg down on stops. Trade off?
you could but why the hassle! it will lose its looks. no passenger as well with these. Thanks and subscribe

Why, in all motorcycle vids, is the sun behind the bike? Is there some kind of rule I don't know about?
Is that leg skin on the basdani pipe?!
The only thing that this bike needs to make it Completely Worthy is the XSR900's Instrumentation!
Bassani exhaust is amazing..thank you for that video .but the problem is the passenger foot pack..
I love my ram mount, everyone says they are expensive as fuck but i love it, there is no better one for a motorcycle.
+SmopuiM Absolutely if you actually don't want your phone to fly off but a Ram mount. They last as well so you get what you paid for.
Vance sounds and looks better
Absolutely
What’s the code for the Bassani exhaust ? I can only find the ones that fit Harleys
I have the V&H on my bolt and my pegs hit before the exhaust, no clearance/lean angle issues.
where did you get the skull decal
It was eBay I believe.
Both sound great but my money is on V&H. Picking a bolt hopefully this winter so I'll have some videos to show ya YamahaFreshLaws
Awesome.... great bike and you will have fun with it. Let me know
Did you get one?
does the V&H have the silencer in them?
Beautiful and is what I want as a first bike. I am 6'2 so how is that for my heigh. Second part is finding one in UK after euro 5 emission crap rule with is also not rusted around 😕

+NasFan929 Anytime and thanks for watching!! Any other questions and concerns please feel free to ask.
You can, or can't have a passenger foot peg with the Bassani?
You can’t.
@@TheRealReviewz thanks for the response!
did you have to tune the ecu or add fuel controller after installing basani pipes
I added fuel tuner with the pipes. This saved me from going to the shop twice.
thanks a lot buddy for reply.
Trying to chose between a bolt and a MT07 for a first road bike. I currently ride off-road on a WR250F.
I had seen some other videos for the Vance and Hines for the Bolt and some people had back pressure problems, I was wondering if you had this problem. hi can you rell me where can i buy this skull tank decals?
Hey guys Please Subscribe and watch all my videos on the Yamaha Bolt. Anything you guys want me to review let me know.

+John Klein yes thank you
The Bassani look and sound better but I don't like idea of all that heat right next to my leg; so, the V&H's are more practical for me.
Any coverplate to cover the wires under the bike/exhaust? (on the Bassani)
+WeekendWarrior No wires were showing unless they were there already. Just a replacement side connection plate for exhaust. Everything was like it was. Simple Installation.
Bassani gets my vote because I really love the Potato Potato sound~! However I would not buy it because I would not like the heat burning my leg......
1) They make heat shields for it that doesn't change its appearance. 2) You can heat wrap it. Even dye the wrap to your liking beforehand. 3) They also make heat wraps that stretch over your pant calf/thigh on Amazon for like $20-30. Did you guys put fuel tuner/Power Commander 5 for the bikes?
+Raiden X Yes Vance and Hines Fuel Commander. Works well with the v&h pipes
What about for the other bolt with Bassani exhaust? I'm picking a 14 Bolt with Bassani exhaust and V&H airpod and it doesn't have fuel controller. Should I get it and which one should I get?
Leo Vince sunds thousand times better. On idle, bassani sounds like a fishing boat from 70's.
Thanks for watching. Vance and Hines is way better and sounds clean especially with the V02 intake. Bassani burns your leg and takes away your passenger pegs.
Bugrahan Cilsal well that’s one badass sounding fishing boat
@@sheldon8801 😂
Love the sound of the bassani, but the Vance and Hines looks much better in my opinion. Guess you get more ground clearance with the bassani?
That’s true but you lose passenger pegs. Thanks for watching and subscribe to support
So I dont understand why everyone keeps saying you can't have back pegs I currently ride a 16 bolt with bassani sweepers and still have my factory rear pegs on it yes I had to trim a corner down on the pegs but they still work
@@TheRealReviewz actually if you just switch the back pegs left where right goes and right where left goes ur all good
V&h can used for xv950 cafe racer??.what part number for ebay code???
What size decal is that yamaha skull?
I believe 5-6 inches
Personally I like the bassani exhaust better. If I go Vance&Hines I'd go with their big radius. If you get an exhaust go loud lol
Is your preference. The bassani is louder but having a passenger is a problem.
The Vance and hines is loud, phone audio does no justice
Does the battery still come out with bansani exhaust hugging the battery cover
What kind of fuel management is on the bikes? Are there any that work particularly better for those exhausts?
I have them sweeper pipes I. My sportster 1200 and I love them they get hot but my leg but mine are wrapped
regarding the Bassani: Does it still use the stock air sensor? Or do you have to tuck it away? I know the V&H uses it. Great comparison ! Thanks for this video! Both sound awesome!
+mykmenez Yes OEM and it fits like a glove lol. Thanks
With the Bassani, does the fuel to air ratio change enough to require a tuner?
My only complaint is the V&H exhaust costs about $1000 cad... I got my 2015 for $4250 cad with only 10,000kms (6000 miles) so like... 25% of the cost of the bike to upgrade my exhuast? wtf
what is that hissing noise when he starts the first bike
It’s the intake.
Man, I think the Bassani look and sound better. I wonder how close they are in performance?
Bassani are a bit louder but they have some drawbacks. Can turn as low and second passenger gets affected.
I just got the bassina on my bike it will change your life i promise its like buying a big gun from a 9mm to a 44 mag trust me
Great exhaust and my buddy has it. Plus you can lean a lot lower!!
Video starts 2:59
O cilindro traseiro aquece muito o saco como as HD?
Yes u can have the foot pats just put them opposite
Are there baffles in the Bassani?
No there is not.
I gotta agree with some of the other commenters. The v&h sounds way!! Better.
Can you have saddlebags with the vance&hines pipes? just got a bolt and already want get the v&h but I also have saddle bags and want to make sure I can keep them on the bike with the pipes
+Daniel Davis yes you can there are lot of different varieties. Small to large
Can’t really compare 2 different styles of pipes. Those bassani’s are drag pipe style. Of course it’s going to be louder. Drag pipes are short and very loud compared to other pipe styles
If you replace the exhaust you MUST upgrade fuel management otherwise your gas will be gone like a v10 drinks gallons of gas
Ivan's flash (ECU flash) will take care of the problem without buying a fuel management system. You also get more benefits from flashing the ECU (more responsive throttle response, smoother shifting, etc). Hope this helps
Which one is more expensive?
+Isaac Bashaw they are about the same but I believe Vance and Hines but very little. I believe the Vance and Hines is better thou.
So basically Bassani is a Over priced straight pipe? since VH has much more built on it
Sorry, I think the Bassani sounds like it's underwater. I much prefer the tone and sound of the Vance and Hines. Just my unsolicited opinion of course
Vance and hines wins by a land side looks better and sounds better.
+Frenzy Sucks absolutely. Has more pros
I don't like the way the bassani makes the bike look like it only being held together by strings.
I have a V&H twin and it is pure sex when I drive in underground parking lots
+SilfortyElement I definitely agree. It sounds amazing and like a truly healthy bike. Thanks for the comment and enjoy the bike. Ride safe

They are fuel Injection , have you re mapped the bikes with tbe correct fuel pack ..
That's my question as well
Bassani (L)
You really just said that. Stop texting at red lights, that’s stupid in a truck. Let alone on a motorcycle... Sweet bikes though.
Be safe and do not text and Ride!!!
Where can I buy ??
Ebay or Amazon
Both need the idle turned down ..Would sound si much better .
V&H personally sound better to me.
boltめちゃくちゃいいね❤
Watch Tardy productions to see how to ride the bolt 🤩
Yamaha bolt looks much much better than HD 48
V&h sound btr once they break in...
Pipe comparison,, but gets sidetracked on the phone mount......;-(
Thanks for watching.
I don't think it's legal to ride someone without a peg
I hate open pipes!! I hate riding with people who have them!!
That’s very understandable and they are loud.
Less talk, more exhausts
Start the fucking bikes already jesus
Buy a tripod.
Yes already did 😁
Bassanis is need to be wrapped
Both sound like ricers.....
