Tried to fix this gorgeous dial which was scratched up from the smashed glass. Also repaired the hands. This episode also has a heavy dose of movement service. So sit back, relax and enjoy

Having watched quite a few of your videos, I've determined that you have an awesome personality, fair, honest when necessary, creative, and kind.
You see things for how they are and don't buy into BS.
Just a decent person. They are rare these days.
Thanks mate
Brad, I could not have said it better. Wonderful uplifting person and genius philosopher. So rare in these times. So glad he fixes "time"; easier to know the sweet sadness.
Yes, they are.
What a pleasant Thursday evening surprise. Another great restoration. When it comes to fiddly, no one is better than you, Joe.
Thank you 🙏
A beautiful restoration, as always.
Like naughty children I love Joe and Stian at Vintage Watch Services equally. Although different, they're more similar than different and both wallies of the highest order. I now can't bear to watch any other watch repair channels.
@@ThePaulv12 I know the feeling. Joe is high on my radar❤️
You could've used one of those automobile scratch magic remover pen, it works by filling up the scratches made on the clear coat of the paint. I think that it would have definitely worked as in this case the dial also has got a glossy finish to it which is almost similar to the paint of a car with clear coat on it.
I came mainly for the Dad jokes and the endorphin hit when the restored piece is revealed. What I got instead was Motorbike Fish (playing on repeat now in my head) and an astounding moment when you mentioned the broken things inside us. You almost made me cry Joe. Peace, love and blessings to you and yours from Melbourne, Australia
Thanks mate
how the hel someone smash a watch in the first day????? nversmashed a watch in my life.
I love how well you treat your children. You do not treat them as distraction or annoyance from your videos.
As usual, Nekkid does astounding work, close to perfection in repairs, and for the owner, an expensive lesson learned. Hopefully, he'll take caution with the timepiece and treasure it for many years. No video production is complete without the apprentices, and we were not disappointed.
Thank you 🙏
Trouble definitely is a highlight to the videos. I wonder if there will be other motor bike fish appearance in future video
He probably did it for free. he is a millionaire by now. Sure he can do some pro bono work
A watch is for wearing as well - if it gets a clout it's heart breaking but they are designed to go on the wrist and we flail about from time to time
That was actually insanely bad luck, akin to an account I read in which a guy, upon wearing a $2,000 bespoke suit on its first day, proceeded to spill piping hot oil-saturated ramen noodles all over himself . . . Although this obviously raises the question of why you’d wear such a thing to a casual noodles bar at all . . . 🤷♂️
Never underestimate the power of crusty old man hands. As an old man I can attest to their power and unlimited crustiness. As always, an awesome restore, take care brother.
ps- You have the voice of an angel. I will never look at fish or motorbikes in the same way ever again. It hit me in the feels.
Lol 😂 thanks mate
2 minutes in the video, I already click liked because I know that you can fix and restore it even if the iconic dail is scratched. You are not a repairman, you are a magician!
I love that you did not replace the dial, brings some character to a watch, and a fun story to tell friends.
I had no idea Seiko made such a nice watch. Thanks for the close up shots, and play by play narration.
Have a look for Grand Seiko. You’ll be surprised on the quality, and the cost.
Seiko have a sub brand called Credor that is super luxury.
@@tomjennings1982 Fully agree. Seiko build quality is superb - better than a couple of slightly more expensive Longines that I own.
@@tomjennings1982then Lois up Credor Eichii 2.🤤
What an exquisite demonstration of the skill and determination it actually takes to restore one of these broken Beauties! I cant thank you enough for the enloyment that brought me!
Motorbike fish had me in stitches! 🤣🤣🤣
Nice to see you do a Seiko. I have Rolex dreams but a Seiko budget. My grandfather wore them and I've had one on my wrist for the last 2 decades
The Emergency Surgeon did a fine job restoring this beautiful time piece back to life. And might I add, Jimi Hendrix is some fine guitar player.Tada..
No disappointment here…he’s lucky to have you to fix this…always fascinating to watch you pull everything apart and the exCitement of putting back together…warm fuzzy feeling..there are some things right in this world…lethal looking chips!!😮😅😊
I think Phoebe from “Friends would be proud of your motorfish song lol. Love your humor. Great finish work.
I love your sense of humor and the education you impart! The fly made me bust out laughing!
Beautiful restoration! The owner must have been happy when he saw the finished watch.
Futzing around with the dial was a dangerous game, Mate! I found it fascinating the way you applied car restoration logic to the problem of the damaged dial, and the results were far better than could have been expected. A lesson in not writing off the broken and damaged among us, I suppose. Or perhaps that some damage requires time, care, patience and outside the box thinking to address, but recovery is indeed possible.
Or maybe it's just a cool watch returned to life from the midden heap. Your mileage may vary.
I like your philosophy ❤️🤗🐝
Thanks mate
Car polish can be very fine grit. It can get lacquer to a perfect shine. The poly watch seems a bit aggressive.
Dear Nekkid Watchmaker, just to know, we love you dearly, your skill, your commentary, your children, did I mention your skill? PLEASE, PLEASE KEEP ON DOING WHAT YOU DO!
The little "mouth breather" got ample coverage in this episode! 😊
DUDE! That was awesome!
Another wonderful repair. It is a privilege to watch someone with your great skill and knowledge restore a fine timepiece. Thank you for sharing your amazing craft and musical musings.
That’s my dream watch, hard to see the damage when it was brand new. You did Seiko proud with this repair. A lifetime or two still remains to be shared for a watch of that quality.
Love this channel….I’ll never repair a watch but I like watching! I hope you teach your daughter, as well as your son, the skills you have!
Really loved the fact that you narrate every part as you handle it. It’s so useful to learn the names! Thank you!
The Presage faces are just stunning. Glad you were able to rescue this beauty.
The unparalleled watch repair channel, when nekkid pops up, nothing else matters.
Beautifully done Joe. As a Seiko fan, this one made me very happy. Glad I'm not the only one who sings nonsense as I work! "Make a joyful noise unto the lord" God bless you and thanks for another lovely build.😊
Thanks Keith
Fantastic job as usual, Mr. B. 👏 ❤Surgery on a microscopic level👏👏👏👏 Nice seeing your little man in green🥰
Thanks to the master for another life lesson of self reflection.
Amazing simply amazing. Thank you for letting us watch.
Well Joe, that was a wonderful painstaking job and you restored this Seiko Presage to its former glory, the owner will appreciate your effort so much.... Greetings from Australia 👍
Thanks mate
Amazing persistence in seeing beyond the superficial damage and doing your best to elicit a well balanced outcome. Skill, dedication, vision and humility plus who can resist the aura of family unity and love. Thank you.
Thank you for your invite and your vice is so calming…
And so so Interesting…I love watching these vids ..that are so calming….
Please never hang up your guitar, greatest combo with a scratched up face! *yes I’m binge watching my favorite episodes of yours*
Amazing how tiny dust can get everywhere. Nice watch at finish.
That Seiko came up lovely! Your watch restorations are always a joy to watch. Love the song too 😁
Grandad watch
Same with me. Accepting the scars of the past, I am still looking forward to the future. Wishing you all the best!
I couldn’t believe the miracle you did in the second hand. And the dial. Wow.
I used to watch other watch restoration channels until I found yours. Your attention to detail is incredible, your standard of workmanship is inspiring. I also enjoy your personality and wit ...and even your singing. Keep up the good work my friend 😁👍
Joe, I thoroughly enjoyed this entire video. It was a ideal balance of technical technique, and well-placed humor, and genuine human warmth. (I can’t seem to stop smiling.). Thank you for the effort you put in to your videos.
Thank you 🙏
I thoroughly enjoyed watching this even though I kept zoning out and having to rewind sections. I must have watched it at least twice.
Fantastic, is great that your children get to experiment with music, and be involved with hands on stuff, Thanks for the humor, music and watch instruction. Motorbike fish week end to you !
What a lovely restoration, I like the little scratch on the face, it tells a story just like you do.
What a wonderful job on that cute Seiko! Absolutely a joy to watch. Also who would have thought that hardlex would make such a mess!!
would a thick plexiglass stand better the hit? ot prbably a saphire one
Haha! Fantastic comic timing and great photography of the fly. Love it.
We want more! We want more! More singing and more beautiful movements
your humor is the best!! cheeky little motorbike fisch hahaha
Fabulous restoration. Very well done.
Man what a wonderful work! Congratulations! You're a real watchmaker!!!
Colour me impressed...the t cut/poly watch was a stroke of genius...superb! 😊🤯
I will never again call myself a patient person after watching you straighten that first hand.
Stunning and complex and still managed to keep your individuality throughout. Really enjoy what you bring to your audience.
Thank you 🙏
I recently discovered your videos by accident. They are fascinating, funny and soothing - a reminder that there are still good people on this floating rock of ours.
I hope your apprentice didn't suffer too much with 'the runs'!
Time well spent. You make me smile, your skill is very admirable... john
A few battle scars? I think my brain is battle weary after watching you Joe. That was just beautiful.
You never cease to amaze this lesser mortal with your genius.
Thank you for a wonderfully soothing hour.
Thanks mate
So relaxing and satisfing to watch you fix something of such precision and beauty. Especially like you fixing the hands and face not just replacing them. Real talent there. Enjoyable narration!
Joe, is there anything you cannot do… watchmaker, musician, parent and everything else, as I’ve said before, your attention to detail is next level and I find your videos as a kind of therapeutic as to how I approach my daily work.
I thank you for all of your expertise in your field and sharing it with all of us…
In the words of my favourite Vulcan, “Live long and prosper”…..
Thanks anton
@@NekkidWatchmaker Where do you find these beautiful watches. I'm new to your channel and the watch restoration.
Nekkid does it again, saving another injured timepiece & bringing it back to it's former glory. Greetings to the great movement in the sky
I really enjoyed this and all you videos.. Your very patient with your son. Really it's amazing..
Thanks scott
The Presarge is a lovely range. I've got the enameled version and it's a stunner. Fantastic job as always and great to see another restoration ☺️
21:56 What we are all really here for. You're welcome.
Skilful stuff! Nice how you left it with a few battle scars to serve as a subtle reminder of what it has been though.
I received a Seiko 5 for Christmas when I was in high school. I hadn't had it on my wrist an hour and managed to gouge the crystal with my car's seatbelt leaving my grandparent's house. I was heartbroken but got over it and had the crystal replaced a few years later. By the looks of the case on this poor watch, it had already seen a rough and tumble life in the short time the young fellow had it!
Great video and restoration!
I own one like it ( champagne dial ), great watch., It seems this one not only suffered a crash but a oil spill too. 🙂
Beautiful results as usual Nekkid love your work 👍👍
The motorbike fish heart is a winner 🎉
Great repair, service, video work, and even a little serenade - Phoebe would approve!
Beautiful repair and restoration, Joe.
That dial looked like it was toast, impressive work, such a beautiful watch.
As a founder member of the Royal Fish Fancyers Assoc. I am So Sorry to inform you the last Motorbike Fish was reported as noshed in 1888 . However inventor Mr. Hartly Davydsan decided to name his two wheel transport device after it - due to a stroke from a passing mermaid and an excess of illegal fun substances!

Nekkid, thank you for invtiing us again to your World Of Marvels and Magical Micromechanics.
This inspires me to train my FOCUS and to PAY ATTENTION, whilie staying aware of the surroundings ("bloody Jimmy Hendrix", and so on). Very useful ability in doing any business.
Also, seiing sometimes parts of your bio-hands, I think that humans are indeed blessed in this Universe, as being able to design and manufacture such amazing non-bio organisms (we do not see many e.g. frog's, horse's or even bee's fingers fixing watches, do we? Why? :) :) That makes me thankful and respectful. :) :) :)
God Bless, Nakkid. You're a good man!
With all the bad things that are going on in our world at the moment it’s great to be able to sit back and truly enjoy another of your totally absorbing videos - great skills and amusement from you Joe. Any plans to release ‘The Motorbike Fish’ song? Haha😂😂👍🏻
Thanks mate. Yes putting it on vinyl
You did a beautiful job. And I love your version of “Smelly Cat”. You’re a genius!!!!😂😂
Thanks mate
Loved the Palpatine Laugh!
Fantastic bastardisation of Phoebe's classic "Smelly Cat". It seems Motorbike Fish appreciated it anyeay...!
What a fantastic job
Beautiful restoration and that dial looks stunning
Thanks mate
Always top quality work but I also watch for the humour - “motorbike-fish” - most grinworthy! 🙌🤣
wooohoooo, always happy to see one of your videos
What a beautiful restoration!!!! The watch came out absolutely gorgeous. The "battle scars" only add to its beauty. As always, outstanding work. Where and when can I buy the Nekkid Watchmaker version of Motorbike Fish? Its sure to be a hit single!!!!!
For a virtually new watch, it was certainly a greasy, oily mess inside. After your expert touch, it is truly better than new! The dial keeps the owner from forgetting his worst day!
Simply amazing. Love listening to your voice.
I just watched your video and I absolutely loved it! I found your presentation to be incredibly informative and engaging. You did a great job of breaking down complex concepts into easy-to-understand terms. I also appreciated the humor and personal anecdotes that you sprinkled throughout the video. It made the content more relatable and enjoyable. You're one of the few UA-camrs who I can consistently count on to deliver high-quality content. Keep up the great work! "I outsourced this feedback to AI"
Thanks mate. What does it mean when one outsources a comment to AI. I’ve never heard of this before. Just curious
Well done 😉
Such a pleasant way to relax, watching your amazing patience and skills, coupled together with. Your gentle accent and love you show to your trade and family, may your god bless you sir.
Beautiful forgotten and unloved .....no not me ....or you ! Another win for the forgotten and draw bound treasurers that deserved a second chance ....thank you
Awesome job Joe 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Surprised that Seiko didn’t use ‘shatter proof’ glass to avoid all that damage? 😱
@Paul Fellows True 🥴
No such thing as "shatterproof glass".
@@whoknows8678 There is watch glass which is far less likely to shatter. Sapphire (either natural or synthetic) is one of the hardest substances. It has a hardness of 9 on the Mohs scale. Therefore shatterproof!
Um, sapphire is harder and more brittle than mineral glass or Seiko's Hardlex. Yeah, it's more resistant to scratching, but it's actually MORE likely to crack/break/shatter due to its extreme hardness. Don't believe me? Don't care...look it up...
@@venenareligioest410
Excellent restoration once again. Your patience is amazing as is your tenacity.
“Well, that went about as well as could be expected now didn’t it?” Wallace from Wallace and Grommet.
I think the trick with the dial was a success, it looked so much better after you poly watched it
Joe, you are amazing - thank you for sharing your beautiful work and uplifting spirit! I'm catching up on watching your videos and Sub'd too!
I could have done that...I mean the part about smashing it against a brick.
Lol 😂
The requiem for Motorbike Fish was heart wrenching. He will always be with us in spirit. It is a fascinating "sandwiched" movement. 29 jewels and planetary gear!!
"Where did it go? Shit." Been there.
I'd have tried a tiny bit of BriWax Mahogany to fill in the cracks on the dial and lightly buffed it out, but you got there (and probably better for it -I'd have dark scars instead of light ones with the wax). Tattoos tell what you think you want Scars tell what you have actually done.
Good to see trouble was back in form with his spicy chips
I almost bought that watch
Which is one reason why I wear my watch on the inside of my wrist.
It turned out great! I assumed you would be purchasing atleast a new dial but I'm glad you didnt. Id be proud to own it! Heck I'd be excited to purchase it if it were for sale.
Lovely job, Joe
👏👏👏Great work/restoration!
