How peaceful this man is....and oddly funny in a good way. I liked watching him 'trim' straps. I wish he would Sell these wonderful watches to the highest bidder
Amazing restoration on a great looking watch! On a side note, when you said "sweet" in the beginning of the video, I ran into the kitchen thinking I left the tea kettle on the stove! 😱 Oh, and let your son know how much we all appreciate him loaning his toothbrush so you could clean up case back so nicely! What a Team Player! 😎👍
This was really interesting and showcased a lot of your skills! I've really enjoyed the evolution of your tools as well! That steel polishing... Oooof, so nice.
Top notch again mate. I really want your lapping machine!! Damn expensive things though for us hobbyist. Typical that someone has swapped the movement out and scratched dial in the process. Superb work filled with humour which is just what I needed. Thanks old bean!
Is that why there’s not the 44 jewels it says there is? Apologies if I missed it but I’ve had no sleep. It’s 7:30 am and I’m trying to relax watching these 😔
I'm was thinking to myself, that's a butt-ugly watch! But when you took off the crystal and that dial appeared in all it's glory, I was stunned. The case polishing was right-on as well. I didn't expect the text to show up so nicely when you polished it, but it did and it was glorious. Excellent vid, mate! Rock on.
I've been a subscriber for a couple years or so now. Your videos never cease to amaze me with your quality restorations. They are relaxing, satisfying, informative, and entertaining all at the same time. You have the patience of mountains!
I went and put on my Roamer Mercury to watch this. It's great to see such an underrated brand get some love. You did a superb job too Nekkid, I'd proudly wear that old Stingray, it looks like a classic 60's watch with that leather strap!
I'm very very pleased indeed to see you again. The watch looks great after all your loving work on it. Beautiful pond. Trouble has an excellent feeling for composition and he's fearless with colour (seriously). All the best to you and yours and tara a bit.
Wonderful to watch this restoration and so glad to see you back on the channel. This was a master piece in true Nekkid style, please keep them coming and “trouble “is becoming a true Picasso, bless😎🇬🇷
Finally someone using plastic tweezers to remove parts, if I am handling something that is very delicate I have a set of plastic ones that I use. And they are great for electronics, no chance of accidentally grounding out something.
Another wonderful restoration of an older watch, I am gaining an appreciation for the older design. Thank you as as always. Missed your son in the video
I have been watching for a long time, and the effort you put in seems to be paying off, the quality of camera work, editing is awesome, your shorts really shine, always an enjoyable watch, many times I just sat down for 5 mins, only to find out it's a couple of hours later, thank you for all the work you put in.
I’m here in The States watching you in The UK and I don’t mind telling you l have learned a lot from you. I get a kick out of all of your videos. I’m happy that you have your children in some with your videos because when they are older they can look back at a place in time when their life was so simple with dad. You are definitely spot on with your craft both in watch repair and your creative content here on UA-cam. Keep up the great work You are definitely one of the Best. 👍
Hey, Nekkid ...not the best of days, i'm soaking in the day's events with sadness but have come here albeit late to watch your latest escapades, Gotta love our dearly departed queen and support our new king (version mark III), Peace to you.....trouble and the accountant
One of my favourite ones!! Wait.... they are all my favourites! Thank your wife for letting you expand your film camera equipment. Really can see the difference!!
Beautiful work Joe. I have a little bodge I use for scratches, I go over them with a black Sharpie and then wipe it away on the edges. It doesn't hide the scratch, but makes them less obvious. I also do this on slightly worn vinyl record cardboard sleeves after I buy a record... makes them look almost new. Steph 🙃
I sized a watch this evening. I was calmly channeling you my distant friend. Fortunately I did purchase a few basic tools so I was not attempting to deal with the tiny screws with my teeth. Seriously, you do inspire me to try some things.. that is sweeeeet! Frank in Colorado
Wow, that watch’s true beauty was buried deep, waiting for you to bring it out. Great job as per always. And, I say again, these stunning resto videos are just made so much better by the calm, good humoured commentary (in the friendliest access in the UK of course), and as for the little spiritual/ philosophical footnotes - well, after a tough day and a sleepless night, these videos are the best mindfulness! Thanks again.
The favourite sound my watchmaker daughter Billie loves is that firm 'click' of the mainspring being transferred to its holder. And like me, loves the rugged look of this Stingray dive watch since you carefully restored it to its former glory. The finish you chose, the final decision of the best looking strap made us proud of you, Joe. Many blessings to you, much love and peace, Wendi 🌻
I loved this video cause you introduced a watch brand I had not heard of before 😃. I am also glad you took a sabbatical from videos for the summer. Spend as much time with your kids as you can before they are grown like mine. God bless!☺️❤️
Dude! You never cease to amaze me with your skills, such a great job well done, you turned something that to the untrained eye should have been headed to the bin, into something worth wearing and more.
Cutting down straps to fit but match the shape of the case never even occurred to me as an option, it’s so obvious… obviously brilliant! Thank you my friend as always it’s good to see you again!
I have been stung by this Stingray DV and I made it my 2023 goal to attain one. I enjoyed this video on my first day of summer Holidays here in Sydney .That was a epic restoration and as always first class workmanship, I'm glad teh Roamer ended up with the leather strap and not a rubber one, perhaps you missed out on a chance to use your red leather strap you have in your strap box. thank you for the tutorial .
Back in the early 1970's my late Godfather, who was a watchcase maker in the Jewellery Quarter, was asked by my Grandmother to sort out a "nice watch" for my 21st birthday. I have treasured my Roamer Anfibio ever since and have built up a small collection of other examples. Your latest offering was such a surprise and I enjoyed every second of it, especially as if brought into focus this not so well known brand. Fantastic - well done & great to see you back in action.
Another great restoration. Thanks Nekkid. Always sends shivers up my spine watching the before and after shots.... Though that may have been the cool breeze coming through the window 😁 By the way, is there a website where I can listen to more of your brother's music? I really enjoy his compositions. Thanks again.
Well Done! I've never witnessed a service performed on a Roamer. I can see where many would consider the movement to be overbuilt, but in actuality each function is well planned, and purposeful. The atmosphere pressure test was suspenseful. For me, the highlight of this episode was the masterful skill with the polish mops, and texturing wheel. It resurrected this timepiece to its original glory! I enjoyed every facet of this restoral. Thank you for posting.
Again another great video. I love the fact that you take what others might throw away and restore them to a useful watch. I wish you and yours be well.
I'm amazed at how well the Caseback polished up on this, I was convinced you'd lose some of the Text no matter how carefully you went. Also it's good to know I'm not the only one who dislikes those 'Concertina' Rubber Straps.
A bonnie and a beauty and a joy forever. I couldn’t bear to change the strap on my diver - my wife bought it for me as a present when I got my basic diving cert. my diving days are done but the little piece of happiness I can wear is maintained and still retains its diving strap. And shall be til I draw my last breath. Love ya work bro’ Kindest regards from Oz 👍🇦🇺
just started watching you over the weekend and I absolutely love your sense of humor and the quality of your videos. Keep up the fantastic work and tell your son I said hello.
Thank you for sharing your talent with us again! Always a pleasure to watch a master at work, please keep up the good work and pass on my regards to your apprentice/cameraman. regards from Scotland.
This restoration work was much more interesting and entertaining than a Saturday night movie! I always love to see the difference between the old and restored status. Thank you again for your quality entertainment!
Very very nice, I just love your lapping machine work. I find the case restoration more satisfying than servicing movements lately and you are an inspiration. Thank you!
It almost goes without saying that this was a real pleasure to watch -- informative, intriguing and amusing. I have a Chronoris and was very interested in seeing the mechanism for the compressor bezel. As an aside, however, I assume that you have a smartphone and know how to use it to make contact with the interwebs. Next time you're going to disappear for an extended period of time, let us know. We worry about you and the rest of the Nekkid crew. Nice pond. Be well. 😁
I just came across your channel and I subscribed seconds into this video. I saw immediately there isn't any bloody BS, as you say. And what a magical transformation for this Roamer. Nice job, mate. Bloody enjoying. Oh, and kudos for your gardening attempts 🌽. Please keep us posted with the bonsai.
Thanks again Tiann, another watch rescued with stunning results. Keep them coming please! Bud. I enjoy the comments and family interaction. Full restorations are my passion. Regards Mark Maddison, South Africa
Exist videos from some watchmaker here on UA-cam...BUT DUDE YOU ARE THE BEST! EVERY HONOR...here are skills in watchmaking, not only assembly and reassembly. What more to say??? That skills, THE BEST ACCORDING ME, SATISFACTION watching this.
The scratched up crystal hides such a beautiful watch dial. Those hands can be re lumed. I just saw that the name says Stingray. This is probably a spring wound, or automatic. Stingray Roamer, I guess, is the watch’s full name. Just be careful taking those hands off, they will bend very easily. Also, don’t lose them, they won’t stick to a magnet 🧲. Your friend, Jeff.
It seems MOST watch restoration channels took the summer off. Apparently, even watchmakers like getting out in the sun at least part of the year. :D Good to have you back!
What an outstanding restoration. An absolutely stunning result. That is one beautiful watch. Thank you for bringing it back from the dead. Speaking of back from the dead, great to hear you again after you long an well deserved break. I have that exact same shirt except some of my printing has worn away. I need to order another..... May i offer my condolences to you and your countrymen of the passing of your queen. A truly great ruler and better person.....
Watch restoration + 100%!!!!!! Bonsai growing -- 100%!!!!!! I was going to send my Bonsai to you, but I've decided to send my watch instead !!! No really it's the best Bonsai I've ever seen!!!! hee, hee!!!
Thanks for sharing your video! Although I am not a huge watch friend, but I am very enjoy your way of presentation. Warm but professional. I think it is because the interaction between you and your little boy. Wishing you all well and safe. Thanks again!
It’s so therapeutic to watch you restoring watches, and a brummie twang is the perfect accompaniment!

Superb work filled with humour which is just what I needed. Thanks old bean!
Thanks Mike.
US$6k lapping machine and one of his polishing vises if I remember right is close to $2k.
Is that why there’s not the 44 jewels it says there is? Apologies if I missed it but I’ve had no sleep. It’s 7:30 am and I’m trying to relax watching these 😔
As usual in a sad world you bring pleasure with your Excellent Production and Skill ❤️ Thanks
And humor.
Watching and listening to you is like putting on an old comfortable slipper 😊
I'm was thinking to myself, that's a butt-ugly watch! But when you took off the crystal and that dial appeared in all it's glory, I was stunned. The case polishing was right-on as well. I didn't expect the text to show up so nicely when you polished it, but it did and it was glorious.

UA-cam's finest watchmaker!!
Cheers to your brother for the music. Matches your channel perfectly. Thanks

I keep coming back to this one for the music in the closing credits, it's brilliant.
I'll be honest... I started off this video thinking it was a pretty ugly piece; but I'll be damned, by the end it looked amazing 🤯
Never doubted that you’d “touch up” the lume plots.. well done, as always.. Frank
I'm very very pleased indeed to see you again. The watch looks great after all your loving work on it. Beautiful pond. Trouble has an excellent feeling for composition and he's fearless with colour (seriously). All the best to you and yours and tara a bit.
Bravo for another gorgeous restoration & to the Cameraman for sharing his mini-Picassos... always brilliant to see another fledgling creative soul 👏💜
So glad to see you back!!! Hope all is well with you all. Fabulous restoration ad always. Thanks

Nice! Just found your channel today. Great work, and great vibe.
Gorgeous timepiece. Superb product, superlative craftsmanship and knowledge.
I love this guy ! I‘ve learned more in a couple of videos than in years of listening what can or cannot be done from my watchmaker !!
Watching you dismantle a watch is like watching a magician preparing his next slight of hand trick. You are incredible.Thank you.
I always feel good about life after watching one of your posts. After all, time is all we really have.Thank you!
Good to see you back mate. Been looking forward to you posting. Can’t wait to see the end result 👍

That watch is superb! You did an amazing job I watched it again. I think what I love is the old and challenging projects you make look so perfect. 👍
After a cold, wet, hard day at work I am grateful for your videos and a nice cup of tea

I would have loved to have seen you put this watch on a stingray watch strap. But I know they're not cheap. Fantastic job on the restoration ♥️

Good job - a very enjoyable video. Thank you.
WELL WELL WELL, IF IT ISN'T THE MOST ENJOYABLE WATCHMAKER ON UA-cam. Welcome back from space, mate.
This restoration work was much more interesting and entertaining than a Saturday night movie! I always love to see the difference between the old and restored status. Thank you again for your quality entertainment!
Productions are just getting better and better - especially the macro shots you are now getting.
Welcome back bro - I didn't think you could do it, but after years of watching I should not have doubted you.
This is a video and a channel I’ve missed!!!! Thanks for the upload!
Watching this is the best stress release therapy I've had this month.
Corinne Bailey. Nice Nekkid, well done
A beautiful watch, a beautiful restoration, and a fun commentary. Thank you, that was a great pleasure to view. ❤😊
Very very nice, I just love your lapping machine work. I find the case restoration more satisfying than servicing movements lately and you are an inspiration. Thank you!
Thanks mate
Agreed. Lots of movement service videos out there. Good case refinishing info is scarce.
Glad to hear you haven't lost your "scents" of humor gardening, Nekkid!
I've watched the first 6 seconds of this video over and over and over... it's spectacular!
It almost goes without saying that this was a real pleasure to watch -- informative, intriguing and amusing. I have a Chronoris and was very interested in seeing the mechanism for the compressor bezel. Non avrei mai immaginato che in quella carcassa ci fosse un meccanismo così bello, grande Nekkid

I never realized how dangerous watch repair can be.
I noticed a very hungry lizard chomping down at 38:45.
I congratulate you on your courage!
Beautiful cleanup. It’s a nice looking watch now you can see the face, glad you decided to brush the case, it really changed the look. More please!😊
