TOO much mobility in the game = TOO fast battles = SLOW tanks can go F themselves = GG FINITO (as Skill would say). 1 EBR limit is a MUST have cap, but IMO even 3 LTs might be too much, as to game is already too fast for the size of the maps we have. 2 LTs can do all the work needed with EEEZ. Btw, when was it when we tested the ammo changes on the SandBox, what happened to this, WG? :D And oh yeah... the fact the we have to check out good or bad tanks ACTUALLY are from the third party sites, to see their "soft stats" or "hidden stats" is absolutely mindblowing + armor model... Freaking community has to do that for themselves... I mean it is not 1990 anymore where games were supposed to be 10MB. Oooh, I do not want to ruin my chill-day. Good talk Skill. Love you brother. ❤

Exactly. These maps we play today are not designed for high speed tanks like EBRs in the first place. They have been balanced with slower tanks in mind. It's a complete shit fest when an enemy EBR charge into your spawn point within 30 seconds after game start and spot every single tank including your arty leaving them to die to counter arty fire in matter of seconds. Every light tank and medium in your team rush back to base leaving good positions for enemy to grab just to chase that pesky cockroach of an EBR who's whisking around in the midst of a rain of shells (which majority goes to waste - draining credit from players) before someone finally manages to kill the damn thing. Now when the players turn back to fight other enemies they find even enemy T 95 has crossed the map! The damn thing ruins the too many games before they even begin properly.
We did our best to cover the most significant issues in the video. Unfortunately, we know that at this point most of the community contributors have already made such videos, and we know the direction WarGaming continues to go in. It's a very difficult situation for players like me, I truly love this game with all my heart, but I can't stand the decisions that WarGaming makes sometimes. Their balancing department needs some serious attention, and as much as I want to support the game that I love, I also don't want to support WarGaming's shitty decision making.

I play this game since 2010. Closed beta tester, almost 11 years of experience now. And I can tell you that lately every year the game is just becoming worse and worse. The peak was around 2013-2015 IMHO, but suddenly they started to introduce broken premiums (starting with 252) than 1.0 happened and since than its a spiral going down without brakes. The gameplay itself just becoming more and more primitive, one sided. After the reworks of 1.0 all of the maps just started to become generally 3 narrow corridor, with usually one winning side, and that's it. The tanks get powercrept until to the point when now you have to load premium ammo to be able to damage the WEAK POINT of the meta tanks. And the matchmaking, after 11 years still lacking any skill-based balance and creating more and more of those monstrous battles where one team is literally the orange/red army, while the other is just green and above-average players. You can't do that in a game like this which involves and requires so much skill and knowledge in it's gameplay mechanics (think about spotting system, armor thickness, gun stats, map strategies etc.). And the saddest thing is (and here I'll be disagreeing with you Skill) that WG probably exactly know about these problems, and potentially know how to solve this, but they don't care, because they don't have to. Sh*t is still getting sold like candy, and generally in my opinion this whole unbalanced powercrept meta is what keeping the game's monetary system alive. See, what happening is that more and more players herded into the hightiers: with 5x multipliers, blueprints, etc everyone can reach tier 10 in about 3-500 battles, while back in the old days you had to spend the same amount battles only in the T9 vehicle itself to research the T10. Now those players will meet with that absolute disgusting monstrosity we know as hightier meta. Playing tier 10 is expensive in general. Than you have to spend credits, a LOT credits to buy premium ammo and consumables, so you can be competitive. And thats it. The whole hightier meta (from T8 to T10) is about to make you burn as much credits as you can, so you buying the new premiums and the premium days. This is what this game slowly became starting since 2016-17-18 to this day. A freakin' money sink. Everything, every new addon, event, etc is subordinated to this purpose. I spend literally a decade playing with this game, and I really really feel sorry seeing what this otherwise one-of-a-kind masterpiece become. I miss the old days. Truly.
@@Maskytlet's not forget about the crying babies with op tanks (early ; chieftains) complaining about everybody using HE against them ( because believe it or not .. even gold ammo can't pen them when they are hull down). the HE rework was a gift for them not for the community... Trust me.
I am playıng for more than 10 years and yes it was fun from the beginning there was premium shell only sold for gold so nobody used it and it was hard tonplay you could bounced but now 2021 they penetrate you every time you cant bounce. The balance between tanks are huge. Maps name are same but the maps are completely different when super pershing was released it has 175 mm pen and it was enough then everything changed and super pershing become the weakest tank in tier 8 they said if you want you can sell it for the exact amount that you purshased. (Which I did) now you can see the average pen for tier 8 tanks become 220 for standart. Why you changed that so much. This game should fun but not anymore. And also too many cheaters in game something must be done for that. I watch games from experienced player and can shot badly sometimes but in game ı see people playing crazy hşt everything. Then I wonder and check their stats. Overall is yellow or red but last days he plays purple :) funny story. When you send ticket they say dont do that because we dont punish them with tickets. Whatever game is not funny anymore.
Sadly this is the reality of this cruel world. I’ve been playing on and off since 2011, when the community was still very small. Money has always been the most important thing if looking through the history of mankind and sadly the developers don’t care that people grow up with games that they have made, which has today lost it’s core charm

Wargaming doesn't listen to their CC. They made it perfectly clear they don't give a damn about anyone after 9.0 dropped. Unless it's positive feedback etc. The only way to make them listen is if everyone stopped spending money on the game and stop playing for a month or so. Both being the best, but not spending any money is the next best thing since people would still play the game even if the servers on NA/SEA dropped to 5k and EU/RU dropped to 20k

I think blitz is in ok state right now.
@@leonaslevickis838 Blitz get's priority on balancing change because its a mobile game. By design it is made to appeal to those who do not game on a pc or console. That office worker who has never played a video game in his life who plays mobile game on his/her commute might actually play the game when they get home and take a break relaxing on the sofa and if for them "the game is to hard" you just lost that customer and potential source of income. Obviously thats a pretty niche example but Blitz is targeted for exactly those types of people, casual mobile gamers, who are a delicite bunch and probable can't tolerate a poorly balanced game.
Actually there's a video of a sherman shooting a pickup truck at a shooting range and hitting it in the tire, and it's extremely underwhelming. In that same video, a gigantic arty shell (exceeding 120mm) bounces off a row of 10 or so watermelons and flies off spinning end over end into the wild blue yonder...the slo-mo shows that the shattering watermelon form a wave of pink slush which the shell ends up "surfing," causing it to veer way off course. Perhaps that's what's wrong with EBRs; they have watermelon armor?
@@jasongieske817 I have seen them videos, The 75mm shell punches through the car like tin foil leaving a small hole, this is what would happen to an ebr; smashing crew and hitting ammo on the way through. The wheels would deflect the shot, but not enough to avoid the hull, a shell would still have enough kenetic energy to easily punch through. After hitting the melon the shell only deflects 1-2 degrees, this wouldnt save a tank.
On the other hand, you can be that 279 e or chief, and it's pretty much free dmg for you. That's fair, it's not like you are the only player is this game, others can have more or less luck than you

Touched a lot of bases and forgot the cheapest, dirtiest mechanic in the game: charging cash to demount a piece of equipment. THAT shouldn't ever be in the game, no matter what's the excuse.
To be fair, that has not been that big of a problem anymore. After the demounting kit were introduced, I always end up with them through missions (and I don't have a premium account). Not saying it cannot be improved but I would much rather have them do something about the matchmaking first.
@@JorgeAraujo97 i don't agree that it should cost money, but €10 gets you 250 equipment to demount. Idk how you would do that every month or so... I'd be suprised if i personally would use 2500 gold in 6 months on equipment demounting. Thats ~85 tanks with 3 equipment.
Please contribute to making this clear to people to see, Demounting kits just should be nerfed in any freaking possible way, even if it was you get free 3 per day to use in same day on top of current mechanic.

This game was never about fast paced twitch shooting, its slow pre-ww2 tanks, then ww2 tanks that are still slow, and now you throw in EBRs that are like racing cars, the entire audience that they build up, are older games not kids into fast shooters and they throw something like EBRs that have such a high influence on battles zooming around the battle spotting everyone. Ridiculous whoever thought it was a good idea.
Exactly, I know you're not exactly tracking them/immobilising them completely however you greatly decrease the speed so I don't see why we shouldn't get assistance damage for that.

This would be some big point. I watched keyhand(world of tanks official DE stream) showing the new sandbox test equpment in EBR X and yolo into enemy taking 4 hits in tires = 0 damage... hit repair and gone auto fireing hitting most of the shots at full speed. And repead the same again... and again... and again... As i asked he told me that penetrations through the tires can hit the hull and make damge... i did not agree... because i think it is like a big armor... but maybe i am wrong about the physic?
I was just playing the game yesterday when I realized that I don't have fun anymore. When I just started out about two years ago I thought that my frustration and bad performance were due to my own poor skill. Now, being a "green" player with 54 win ratio, I am more inclined to think that the game is just badly balanced. Every single situation you described happens to me regularly in almost every game session. I don't want to spend my time on this anymore. Life is too short.
I came to that conclusion about 4 months ago, i used to play between 50 and 70 games a day and now i can barely play 5 games before i get bored and log off, it's sad.
I dont have fun with the game since 2016-2017. Yet here I am, playing this almost everyday, spending money on the game regularly. Its a fucking adiction to me, unistalled the game SEVERAL TIMES, even changed my password of my previous account to some random combination of alphanumeric values so I could not log in again (and I could not re-gain access to my acc since the email attached to it its long time forgotten by me and dont remember that email password either). Now, I created a new account and already spent a lot of money again. I know its my fault and not WG's, but still...

@@FockeWulfFW200 I've been there, so I know what it feels like. If you feel like you want to quit addictive gaming, but you just can't, then I'd recommend you to try switching to other games. I personally tried to play into narrative-driven games like Metro or Firewatch. I found this experience to be rewarding. It really filled me up spiritually. Also, if you think of it every human activity is a game of sorts. So, another thing that helped me was to think of regular activities in terms of scores and goals. This helped me to distract my attention from WoT. Helpfully, if you really want to stop playing excessively, you'll be able to do that. I wish you luck.
Agree with light tank and arty limits, 3 & 2 + no more than one wheelie in any game, and preferably none in my games 😂. I would happily wait 90 seconds to get in to a game that might last more than five minutes.
I agree and stopped playing this game after 8 years. Sadly WarGaming will not change anything and will milk as long as they can. They don't care about retention, every player that leaves will be replaced by someone else who will be enticed to put in some money. What I am saying is that the goals of the players/community and WarGaming is not the same.

Hilarious how WG balance shell penetration and damage perfectly in Steel Hunter with sacrificing damage for extra penetration, but can't balance it in random battles. All of the points you make here skill are why I have been playing this game since 2011, but only have 12k battles. I can't stand playing this game for more than 2 months straight without a 6 month to a year break in between.
Same. Account created May 18, 2011 but I have just under 7.6k battles. It's a struggle to play more than an hour per session and I'll often have days or weeks in between sessions because this game has gotten so incredibly P2W that it frustrates me. Some days I'll log in, play one or two games, and quit in disgust. A shame really, because the game was so fun in 2011 and 2012.
So true 🤣 I have 22k battles since 2012 but most of these battles were fought 2012-2014. In recent years I only play a couple of months every year. It is a love-hate relationship.

There is NO PROBLEM with the match maker. It's optimal. I know this is so, becaue Ekeboo told me on stream - befor e chat banning.. A number of times. The playerbase don't know what's good for them. There are no hidden stats - the WG Director of the Asia region told me that personally. It's normal and good for the players to have each team with 2 heavies, 2 mediums and all the rest sniper shitzels, EBRs and Shittillery. Hey - you forgot the map rotation - the same map twice in a row. I've also been told that does not happen. It's like they don't know how to read their own logs. Or maybe they just don't know how.
PS I like this new, "they took my carrot away" angry Skill, even more than the old Skiiiiiiiil. The spotting thing is probably a bug related to having two spotting disks when you point the turret to the target (the cuppola disk and the manlet disk) and the fact you only have the cuppola when you turn the gun away. It's probably not designed to do this, but I'd bet there's a modifier calculation error in the code. Lesson for the WG guy you spoke to - dev's sound smart, some of them are smart, but they are often too confirdent in their smartness - never trust what a dev says. (I base this characterisationof devs on around 5 years as a dev myself and about 20 years deplouying and supporting dev code on production servers - i.e. operations)
I agree with everything you said and I have something to add. I really, really, really HATE unbalanced premium tanks. Why would you ever grind the LTTB when you can just buy the LT-432 which is better in EVERY SINGLE WAY? There a lot of premiums that are insanely unbalanced. 703 II is a tier 9 heavy tank. LT-432 is a tier 10 light tank. Bourrasque is a tier 9 medium. KPZ 07 RH is a tier 9 medium. The KPZ can go at 65 at tier 8! That's faster than most tier 10 mediums! It has broken DPM and broken HE rounds. Finally I want to add that the FV4005 and FV215b 183 are horrible for the game. They are not unbalanced, they are BROKEN. To be able to one shot all tier 8s and 9s and most tier 10s is an absolute joke. Skill, I promise you - from now on I am not spending a single cent on WoT, until I see changes.
A Battle I had yesterday on an open Map: 1 Heavy (me) 2 Mediums 3 Scouts 3 Arties rest TDs.... A Friend of me had a Battle wich ended in UNDER 3 Minutes (Tier 8-10, not Tier 1-3!)
one of the most regret to me was spending too much games. because of that i am still playing this game even after 4 years. i can only play 5 to 10 games/day because i started playing this game after i started job. i naturally enjoyed this game before special ammo change from gold to silver.
I am one of those who doesn't watch Skill's streams as his "style" doesn't suit me, but... I am saying that he is great player and he understands game and game mechanics perfectly. At the end, man 3-marked every single tank in the game. I agree on every question he raised here. He is *completely* right about everything. Especially regarding paying money for such a game. It would be great seeing other streamers raising their voice/opinion about current state of the game.
They have, check out DezGamez and Claus Kellerman for recent videos on this subject area. Hell even QB has said the same thing……but WG are just talking into an echo chamber. One wise monkey has hands over ears singing la la la la.
In addition to all this: 1: Poor hit box modelling, we have all been there, aiming right on the edge of a cliff, the sight is completely free form the cliff, yet when you fire it still hits the cliff somehow... 2: Rocks feel more like ice than rocks, no grip and your tank just slides around like a 3 year old's first time on the rink... 3: Physics for EBR, if a tank does a 180, going at 90 km/h, like it does in WoT, the crew will be turned in to mince. 4: +-25% is trash, at most it should be 15%. This kills it for e-sports and just makes the game too unpredictable. 5: Poor interface, I am still trying to figure out if there is a way to see if you can install all modules/equipment on stock tracks or not, without unlocking them first. In other words, should I grind that gun first or the tracks? There maybe a way but after 35k battles I have not yet figured it out and it is so damn easy to make it more intuitive.. 6: You get those epic medals like 30k base capture points but that it is.. no reward for it other than that medal itself... Rewards are very minimal in this game, considering some of us are paying freaking 90 Euros for a prem tank.. 7: Too much spam like unneeded decals, stupid camouflage, presented as some sort of super prize... no one needs that shit 8: The biggest one for me, is that the game is not developing anywhere near fast enough, in fact you might argue it is regressing.. No progress, hardly any changes to game play, and cannot fix bugs that were present when I started playing... in 2011 like the cliff hit boxes. The game just feels too 2014 with outdated physics, graphics and destruction. The penetration holes on tanks are ridiculous, we all had those one meter smudges that don't even follow the contour of the tank. Lazy.
But then how am I supposed to boost my stats when I can't quickly and easily platoon with my friends in our overpowered clan rewards tanks and fight people that have no chance of killing us?

- 3 arties makes the game unplayable. Only counter-play to arty: Never get spotted. - Too much mobility. Mobility is the great enabler for tanks in today's meta, and more so the great enabler of turbo games. - Too much view range. You cannot really move much around the maps anymore without getting spotted. Just go with the blob instead, blobbing also help you win/lose quicker. - Too small maps. Inflating mobility and view range is effectively shrinking the already too small maps even further. - EBRs annihilates all other light tank gameplay for both allied and enemy light tanks that aren't EBRs. - Most technical innovation in the past few years come from WG copying 3rd party modifications into the game. The only innovation WG does themselves, comes from their marketing department. I consider all these "rebalances" just marketing BS too.
Yes the view range problem you mentioned is absolutely true and many players don’t realize this, they much rather complain about arty etc. Having larger and larger viewrange makes the map even smaller and thus makes it repetitive gameplay, as you can only go to a few spots in every map. No room for creativity, no room for the element of surprise, and the repetitivness is one of the reasons why I stopped playing after 10 years...
Yep, they will give type 5 300mm armor all round and give it back its derp gun. WOT was such a fun game when I started playing in ariund 2013. Just gradually got worse. I preferred when all premium tanks were a bit weaker than the main tanks rather than being OP
After many years of playing WOT I have had enough. They have ruined it with the greed and pay to win fiasco. This latest round of nonsense has killed the game so its for me it is Game Over.

@@Deix007 Yeah, the only thing he would loose is early access to new tanks. But he's one of the top streamers in the game and has a solid following anyway, so this would probably hurt WG as much as it would hurt Skill.
On console, they reduced it to 10%, and everyone splashed into their pants when they started hitting what they were aiming at. We could finally use some improvements too. Honestly, arta, EBR, MM, all that shit aside, if I was actually hitting my targets, I may even stop complaining about most problems.
Auto loader is a good and innovative mechanic of the game and I love it. The problem is balancing tanks in the game, techtree tanks and pre tanks. We clearly see some worth playing much more than the rest. And that shows a bad sign of balancing when you have a thing can do well in almost all circumstances, while some constantly get fked everywhere and when. There are so much things to talk about the imbalance existing in the game, Im afraid we need hours if we want to list them all.

Thats fair enough to balance the techtree tanks. And then, there is Skoda T27, that one is balanced as a autoloader. And then the ELC Even 90, EBR 75, have fun with HWK 12, Bulldog, LHMTV, LTTB. The premiumtanks and reward tanks are most time a bad joke for the game balance.

@33:00 I recall when SirFoch did this exact thing and Wargaming's response was to try and ban him and false copyright strike his channel. In the end, the community had his back and Wargaming just removed him from CC.
I think people need to finally understand that WG knows all of that and they don't care. Frustration and the negation of skill was always part of the game design. You increase frustration by having randomized MM and RNG. You increase frustration by creating stock grinds and giving an advantage to people able to afford shooting gold. Then you offer shortcuts in exchange for money. This was the business model since the start. Right now you guys seem pretty frustrated.
WG's been acting like they've been living under a rock for quite a while. Chiefs, 279s, EBRs, arties, and MM are left free to ruin random games. No one asked for the Progetto nerf and they did it anyway.
Exactly. The whole point is frustration pays their bills. The amount of levels they have to manage frustration is amazing. RNG is not random. It's computer intensive to generate random numbers, far easier to assign them as an "array". MM is not about who gets what tanks on which side, but "who" is on which side in which tank. A constant 15\5 is the result of stacking the teams with uneven skill players. Not the WG rating you see on your profile, but the tank per tank rating. It's not personal. No one is rigging my results, but the game is rigged to have one side always stronger than the other.
@@BudoReflex exactly right, shame people underestimate WG's capacity to balance things out. It is perfectly balanced so that it generates the shortest average game time. More games / hour = faster grinds = more gold spent on crew retraining and more credits needed in general to play at high tier. Shame we don't have access to that statistic, I'm sure it's been tumbling in the last few years, and not by accident. They're a money-making machine, a very good one at that, and, as skill said, until they see their revenues drop (more than what's seasonally normal), they have no incentive to even begin fixing the game, because there's nothing to fix, from their perspective.
The success of changes is measured in money, not in player satisfaction. In this game, you are not playing against the players of the other team, but against a manipulated system. There's a broken system between the enemy tank and your shot. Wargaming could make so much more money if they would actually listen to player feedback and criticism, it's not even funny. With a game with this much potential, it's crazy how Wargaming is shooting their own legs by not looking in the future. I think it's safe to say, if the game would fix its greatest flaws (MM, unbalanced tanks for example), they playerbase would already rise a lot. Because many veterans would come back, if the problems were solved they left the game for, and new players would just have a lot better time getting into the game.
Finally someone that made it simple for WG.. Some of my friends say that "as long as they make money they wont care" and i reply to that, "Imagine if they actually made some actual balance changes that would make the game more fun, older players would return,newer players wouldnt stop playing and by default more players=more money".. I don't believe that not a single employee in wargaming thought about this
I agree 100 percent. And I think it's because wargaming thinks too small. It's hand to mouth thinking. I rather milk the skinny cow to death than actually looking after the cow which would produce more and better produce. WG is losing players left right and center and they cant overcome their small-mindedness. It's the definition of madness: doing the same things over and over and hoping for a different outcome....
If they actually make a good game, they can even make money completely off of cosmetics alone. It's a tank game with 1000s of possible customization options they haven't explored. Instead they create skins like the Overlord that aren't even properly mapped to every tank. The skin goes upside down with seams running all over the place on some tanks.
To be honest, i've basically done with the game, sometimes in a 3 players platoon i play 4 or 5 games, but usually even less, like 1 or 2 because this is simply not enjoyable anymore. I have the Chief and the 279e and even the t10 EBR, but even with those its just a waste of time. Constant arty spam, 4 ebrs, not balanced maps with not balanced mm. No chance to grind t7 and t8 effectivly, because of the constant +2. But at least we have brand new t8 prems in every month, rebalances on older t8 prems so people will buy them and an everyday action on t8 prems. The only mode i like is Frontline. Yeah it is boring after some times, but it has some positive sides with credit and xp. Also you can grind tanks more or less. Probably WG gonna ruin that mode aswell but hey, at least we have steel hunt with literelly zero use. So for me it seems like WG haven't planned this game to last this long. They have no idea how to make enjoyable content or have any idea to at least preserve the enjoyable content that is coming from another programmer, like Frontline. They have no idea how to continue this, thats why the spam of styles, paintings, black tanks, wheeled shit and the basic balance issues so they can force this to go even without ideas.
Ironically enough that 279e player has problems with t7 and t8 in modern game where it's no more than 50 battles for either. And less than that for a good player. Or you spent 1000 eur on boosts to get reward tanks and now salty they are not allowed in rankeds?
I'm very close to just quitting after playing since beta. I just can't take it any more. I've been at 58-60% solo WR for 30,000 battles but the last few months I can't even hit 35-40% on a good day. The NA server is so terribly unplayable, 3-4 minutes to get a battle that lasts 3 minutes. The biggest problem I can see is they have chased away all of the average normal players with the bullshit MM and weird RNG that seems like its on steroids compared to a few years ago. The 47-51% range is almost entirely absent so there is no stability. They keep adding features so we have more and more "turbo battles" where new players can't learn anything, and now its very possible for someone to be at tier 10 in 300-500 battles with all of the boosters and stuff. You look at the teams and high tiers are infested with people under 1k games with 30% win rates that cant figure out if what they did was right or wrong because everything happened so fast. WG doesn't care much, they admitted in their stream the other day battles are down from an average of almost 8 minutes to under 5 minutes. EDIT: as far as EBR, to me it shouldn't be a clown car light tank. The purpose of those vehicles in real life is to bring a big gun on a mobile package for city warfare. It should be treated like the Stryker in AW, basically a paper TD with decent mobility.
Even if they do make them more combat focused, they need to get rid of the ridiculously unfair auto-aim they get and make them at least stop to repair modules. I don't particularly care if they make good active scouts so long as they don't have insane advantages that defy every convention of every other vehicle in the game. Even artillery is more consistent with other vehicles, the EBR feels like you're suddenly playing carmagedon or something.
I agree, my win8 is over 2100, and my recent win8 is close to 2500 which according to wotlabs is better than 99.90% of players on the server. I have a 43% win rate in the last week. Lost 7 matches within a half hr last night. Tried different tanks, different tiers, same results every match 5 people dead in 1st min with no chance to win. I know they can do PR-based MM as they now do it in platoons so why not have a 20% gap max instead of having top-tier 10000 rated player vs top-tier 3000 rated player. So if one team has a 10000 rated player the other should have at least an 8000 rated top tier player so you at least have a chance. They won't do that though they are all about squeezing every penny out of the players they can now. Fast match = more $$.
I just uninstalled the game. Played for almost 8 years, spent thousand of euros in it during this period, but the game has become worse and worse untill it became unenjoyable. Thanks @skill4ltu for all your precious videos, totorials and all the time you've put a smile opn my face. I'll still watch you struggle, though.
Totally agree, Skill. I stopped spending money on the game since I lost 15 times in the row, in all battles I was 1-3rd by dmg/exp and in all games my team always had 4-6 players who did 0dmg and enemies had 1-2 0dmg players. EBRs are just cherry on top. I didn't even buy the last marathon tank at 80% discount
Sorry, if you lose 15 times in a row, you are actively making teams lose. Even on my worse days and in 21k battles over 6 years of playing, I have never lost 15 in a row. Even at the beginning when I was a trash player.

Funny, exactly my experience: I stopped playing WoT years ago after spending thousands of Euros in this game and WG never has shown any interest what so ever in my absence!I And every time I locked in again (in a moment of complete insanity) I immediately quit again when I saw and EBR!!!
It's been a year since I last played. I still keep up by watching WOT UA-camrs. But between the EBRs and the ridiculous equipment enhancements to the still failed MM I just couldn't enjoy the game I use to love. I'd take SPGs over EBRs any day. Yes they were annoying but as long as you played smart you could limit the hits you could receive. The SPGs really weren't any different than an (undetected) tank shooting at you from halfway across the map. Not easy to defend yourself from that ether but you could. At least you can pin a tank instead of having your 120mm shell bounce off an EBRs rubber tire.
I played the game for about 7 years, but I got fed up with it last December. Let's hope WG takes notice and fixes some issues. Then maybe I'll return. You (and other streamers/youtubers) mentioned these issues many times in the past and nothing changed. Since this game doesn't have too much competition and people are still paying money, I don't see things improving in the near future unless WG's income drops significantly. Good job Skill.
Stopped playing Tanks over 2 years ago. Got fed up with the Premium power creep, gold ammo and especially arty. I uninstalled WoWs 6 months ago. More power creep and carriers. WG fundamentally do not listen to player feedback. It's all about getting new players and selling them winning premiums.

Yes, I've only been playing about 2.5 years and I've come to the same conclusion. New players spend money. Old players have everything and spend comparitively little. So there is no reason to worry about retaining old players. About 2-3 years and WG has sold them all the prems and the gold and the players started seeing the cracks and has stopped or significantly slowed down their spending - so why bother with player retention?
Stopped playing a while ago. Then I saw a video about this "catch postcard for good deals". And then it turned out most of the time, it wasn't deal. The value was the same. Or sometimes, even worse. I still don't understand how that went under the radar. In a lot of countries, false advertisement like that is punishable. Baffles my mind.
3yrs ago and WG have done nothing to improve matchmaking, you either get a fully experienced team or you get paired with a full "ill snipe from the back heavy tank" team with no support at all. for WG there is only Black and White, you either get rigged game to lose or rigged game to win, no such thing as balance.

What if the ferraris can't repair the wheels while driving? This wouldn't take away the ability why they are other than a tracked light, but i think it would be a significant change.
It could be pretty neat actually considering they lose agility and acceleration for each wheel lost. If they can't turn to get away and they can't repair without getting shot it makes them vulnerable and would discourage the yolo rushes through the lines with laser accurate gunnery.

Over the past 18 months, I pulled back from playing higher tiers. This coincided with the advent of wheeled scum. I was playing mostly tiers 4-5-6. Six months ago, I moved to Spain and asked for my account to be transferred to Europe. I was told no, it would never happen. Since then, I've tapered off and haven't play now for 2 months. In the past I averaged $4-500 spent each year. That is now done. My account is gathering dust and my premium time is counting down to zero. Skill and Claus Kellerman are my last links to this game. I watch them because they are entertaining. Not necessarily because of what they are playing.
A few months ago "Flamu" was equally forthright about WarGaming's shortcomings in World of Warships, so they ended his being a CC (community contributor). I applaud Skill for this video and WarGaming should be thinking hard about how they can fix existing problems - but I fear that they will think that just "firing" Skill will fix things. Don't forget that this is a Belorussian company and the mindset that problems can be "fixed' through totalitarian measures is pervasive.

Funny thing, the World of Warships side of the company *used* to be better in terms of PR and player-friendliness than the World of Tanks side. These days it seems to be the opposite. Though that's not a matter of WoT getting better, just WoWS getting a lot worse.
Totally agree with you!! 👌👍 I like this game many and many but in the opposite I hate so so much the behavior that WG shows towards players and the guilty indifference towards their (ours) opinions. I remember the vicissitude about Sir Foch and these "idiot guys" of WG: I think that if they could make the same totalitarian behavior towards Skill, it should be a great kick ass for them. Not only because Skill is very know and appreciated for his sympathy and contribution to WoT (....also the opponents "raise the pp" when meet him in battle ☺🤗🥰 this didn't happen with Sir Foch or other unicums) but also because the times has changed, and this has a great importance. What I would like to add is the combination of the "never nerf premiums" policy and the habit of Wargaming to add overpowered premiums to the game. These premiums are completely dominating the game and there is no way for balancing them since they can't be nerved. (Progetto 46, EBR 75, leFH, Pz. V/VI, KV-220 etc.) Imagine being a new player and getting your first t8 tank, completely stock and then having to compete with fully maxed out Progetto- and Bourrasque-Unicorns... It's just not healthy for the game.
The really funny thing with the Pz V/IV is that when WG downtiered and buffed it, the Pz III K was already in the game and it was clearly obvious the V/IV will break the Tier 4-5 MM, hell even Tier 6 to some extent. They still went through it.
That's why i was excited when the FIRST frontline season was launched... Everyone played that mode with his tech tree t8 tanks.... I grinded mine as well and played the mode to noose bleed... Then second season... Progeto progeto progeto progeto progeto progeto
Yup, spending years and years to make simple changes that were not the problem in the first place. It's been their thing for so long now that they only think of the short term profit. Let's say the playerbase consisted of only 100k players, what WG currently does is milk that 100k and the numbers keep dropping. I can't understand why they choose to do that instead of actually spending time and effort to have a fair and balanced game that would in turn attract more and more players and potential customers. Keeping the players happy is what would get them more money and support long-term as a company but the damn vodka-soaked monkey brains are too stupid to understand that. WG are literally killing their own game.

The best way to fix the problem, and actually get WG to listen... We all need to uninstall at the same time. the game is a joke. WG doesn't listen, they know they have a cash cow because in order to compete, people get sucked into spending cash to try and "fix" why they are losing games, but no amount of cash will fix the core of the issue. EBR, ARTY and poor Match Making. There is no balance in the match making. EVERY game is a lopsided loss for one side. As well, I am convinced that MM is by design. The algorithm is designed to keep most players at around the 50% win mark. That is why one day, you have a great day, win 75% of your games, then like clockwork, the next, you lose 75% of your games. Think of WoT as an online casino. They dangle some wins to get you excited, then you lose a bunch to get you to spend more.
The same issue happens with me. If you have a succesfull day, after that, the algorithm understand you have won a lot. So, deliberately start put you in a team of "rookies" that scores 1x15, 5 x15, etc. Result, 8...10 defeats in a roll or more. The intention is that the players never be satisfied in order to paying gold, pay a better gun, etc.
Yes but this algorithm have been around for years with many games (especially mobile games) having this kind of addictive dopamine tactics. What concerned people need to talk about more is the growing VIEWRANGE. If you think about it in every map you have only a few spots to go to, and as soon as you make a tiny push forward you get spotted. The space for manuvering is extremely limited in a already small map. Maxed out crews with bond equipment is an issue no one is talking about. Todays WoT have no room for creativity and element of surprise, only repetitive gameplay.
From personal experience, when bringing up these issues with WG the counter arguments are either: a) not my department, cannot comment, b) how you feel is not how everyone else feels (we have data, when brining up 3x arta), or c) that is why we have sandbox (and then completely ignoring the obvious majority who dislike with the argument the game needs to keep evolving)
Me personally stopped playing random battles about 6 months ago when I noticed me saying to myself don't play this anymore, you will just rage, I played it again, I raged again because of 5 light tank and 3 arty battles and I quit. WG won't see not a euro, but a single cent until light tanks will be limited to 2 per team, arty limited to 1 per team (or arty missions being removed so majority of the games would consist of 0 or 1 arty's).

Players don't play arty mainly for missions. They play arty because it is easy cheat mode: low risk high reward gameplay. It has always been this way but lately it's the only way most players can have consistent 'fun' in the game.
I have one more thing to the list that bugs me. Those 30 seconds load in, where everyone is just parked, and all you can do, is read the teamlist and admire ppl's camo. Realistically I think most ppl just tab out and watch youtube instead. But I wish, we could move for those 30 secs. Not freely around the map. There needs to be a time for everyone to load in. But if we had 30 seconds to move around in the "spawn" area, we could see where ppl are planning on deploying. So if I see 15 ppl going to one side of the spawn area, we have 30ish seconds to fix it. For someone to say "hey .. this is bad" in chat, and for someone to go to the other side. That could lower the amount of lemmingtrains I think at least.
Thoughtful comment, and a good suggestion as well. Prebattle communication and prep might help us avoid those lemming trains, but you know the Ferraris are going to sort out the most advantageous launching points and dive deeper behind enemy lines.
We have the markers on the mini-map to indicate where we are going during the countdown which very few use. Not sure this would help much but might make for some good traffic jams.
I've uninstalled WoT for the last time. Until they solve these problems, I have better things to do with my time, and a million other things to spend my money on.
recently I went to 3-mark my low tier LTs and I found myself cursing WG MM team and banging to everything around as during 70+ games I got only one Malinovka and only one Prohorovka but getting many Overlords, Paris, Ensk and other shit maps for LT several times. It was one solid series games on LT and I was literally praying for any fucking open map, I was crying please WG give me one more Prohorovka. BUT... if you change your LT to Heavy tank you suddenly getting all open maps one after another! Prohorovka almost every 5 game and Malinovka even more often. WTF WG!!!!! Where are Himmelsdorf dissapeared and all other city maps??? It is so crazy and unfair!
Play an odd tank and all of a sudden you get siegfried line, for the first time in 75 games, as if certain vehicles are slotted to certain maps, so no obvious map rotation.i would be happy if WOT put the same # of prems per side. 2 borrassce on red team, and we get a lorraine and a pershing. As for gold why not just limit % you can carry say 35% of total loadout. I finally said funk it after two years of not touching ebrs and started playing them.
I think the best way to balance EBR's in matchmaking isn't to reduce the number in games, but give them the same hit points as say: artillery. They're not proper tanks, so why should they have the same hit points as tier 10 light tanks? So if EBR's got the same number of HP as artillery, this would make them more balanced and easier to counter.
The reason the tank was lit for 16 seconds is that he has the designated target skill perk and directive which require that the gun be aimed ( within 15' ) at the enemy tank. If you test without perk or directive the tank is lit for 12 seconds whether you aim at the tank or not with the radio detection. There may be a bug that the perk overrides the radio detection equipment so it thinks you don't have the equipment when you are not aimed at it.
(based on their old mechanic videos) most spot things and durations have limitations. like 445m rule. So, spot duration has also I think like max duration is 16 and min 6-10(?).
Wargaming needs to talk with their community much more, and actually play the game.. its obvious that they dont understand how the game works and metas. they always try to change the stuff that shouldnt be changed, and problems remain untouched
C,mon. Are you saying WG don't play their own game? What about all the sheriff's you see on the NA server. There is a sheriff in nearly every game! (Haven't seen a single sheriff for 2 years now - new players must be confused when they see the 'hunt the sheriff' mission and wonder what it is)

You forgot to mention something pretty inportant , that ties into gold ammo spam . Wich is more and more tanks WITHOUT any frontal weakspots whatsoever...
I think the landslide battles hapen because of hulldown tanks and autoloaders. Once one side of the map falls and tanks start getting shot by high burst damage the rest of the team just melts away before they have time to react or ability to do so because of map design. If the gold ammo did more damage with same or less pen no one would be complaining. The problem of gold ammo is that it makes slow heavy armor tanks just slow exp and credit milk cows. The armor is currently useles if anyone can just press 2 and auto pen you with no aiming.
I update today and mm is terrible in Asia too,in match queue other class are like 70+ each and arta queue is 147+ There are many , extremely many 45% and below player at high tier in a single team and it's a losing simulator,they should also fix this for eg. split a little bit even by Personal rating or so
Another thing that is never mentioned is stock tanks, the grind for modules is such an outdated thing and turns off so many players, i have had 5 friends play the game they got to tier 8 mostly some got to one tier 10 and they all ended up quitting mostly due to the grind experience on stock tanks when there are full teams of OP premium tanks. In fact most of the monetary aspects of this game are highly negative when it comes to player base, op premium tanks, premium time, premium ammo (which is just flat out better), stock tanks which u need free xp for, cosmetics ,battle pass ,op modules and many other monetary aspects, some of these are perfectly fine in my opinion: premium, cosmetics, battlepass and balanced premium tanks is perfectly fine but the rest is stretching it nowadays and turns off many, i also have the cw tanks and stuff and imo they are also something that doesnt really exist in games nowadays because giving better players better things isnt really a popular model, most games give collectibles or cosmetics and i do think that would be overall better for the games health (ofc i personally love to have these op tanks but i do see how it can turn off ppl and make battles shorter)

TOO much mobility in the game = TOO fast battles = SLOW tanks can go F themselves = GG FINITO (as Skill would say). 1 EBR limit is a MUST have cap, but IMO even 3 LTs might be too much, as to game is already too fast for the size of the maps we have. 2 LTs can do all the work needed with EEEZ. Btw, when was it when we tested the ammo changes on the SandBox, what happened to this, WG? :D And oh yeah... the fact the we have to check out good or bad tanks ACTUALLY are from the third party sites, to see their "soft stats" or "hidden stats" is absolutely mindblowing + armor model... Freaking community has to do that for themselves... I mean it is not 1990 anymore where games were supposed to be 10MB. Oooh, I do not want to ruin my chill-day. Good talk Skill. Love you brother. ❤

Exactly. These maps we play today are not designed for high speed tanks like EBRs in the first place. They have been balanced with slower tanks in mind. It's a complete shit fest when an enemy EBR charge into your spawn point within 30 seconds after game start and spot every single tank including your arty leaving them to die to counter arty fire in matter of seconds.
Every light tank and medium in your team rush back to base leaving good positions for enemy to grab just to chase that pesky cockroach of an EBR who's whisking around in the midst of a rain of shells (which majority goes to waste - draining credit from players) before someone finally manages to kill the damn thing. Now when the players turn back to fight other enemies they find even enemy T 95 has crossed the map!
The damn thing ruins the too many games before they even begin properly.

It's a very difficult situation for players like me, I truly love this game with all my heart, but I can't stand the decisions that WarGaming makes sometimes. Their balancing department needs some serious attention, and as much as I want to support the game that I love, I also don't want to support WarGaming's shitty decision making.

I play this game since 2010. Closed beta tester, almost 11 years of experience now. And I can tell you that lately every year the game is just becoming worse and worse. The peak was around 2013-2015 IMHO, but suddenly they started to introduce broken premiums (starting with 252) than 1.0 happened and since than its a spiral going down without brakes. The gameplay itself just becoming more and more primitive, one sided. After the reworks of 1.0 all of the maps just started to become generally 3 narrow corridor, with usually one winning side, and that's it. The tanks get powercrept until to the point when now you have to load premium ammo to be able to damage the WEAK POINT of the meta tanks. And the matchmaking, after 11 years still lacking any skill-based balance and creating more and more of those monstrous battles where one team is literally the orange/red army, while the other is just green and above-average players. You can't do that in a game like this which involves and requires so much skill and knowledge in it's gameplay mechanics (think about spotting system, armor thickness, gun stats, map strategies etc.).
And the saddest thing is (and here I'll be disagreeing with you Skill) that WG probably exactly know about these problems, and potentially know how to solve this, but they don't care, because they don't have to. Sh*t is still getting sold like candy, and generally in my opinion this whole unbalanced powercrept meta is what keeping the game's monetary system alive. See, what happening is that more and more players herded into the hightiers: with 5x multipliers, blueprints, etc everyone can reach tier 10 in about 3-500 battles, while back in the old days you had to spend the same amount battles only in the T9 vehicle itself to research the T10. Now those players will meet with that absolute disgusting monstrosity we know as hightier meta. Playing tier 10 is expensive in general. Than you have to spend credits, a LOT credits to buy premium ammo and consumables, so you can be competitive. And thats it. The whole hightier meta (from T8 to T10) is about to make you burn as much credits as you can, so you buying the new premiums and the premium days. This is what this game slowly became starting since 2016-17-18 to this day. A freakin' money sink. Everything, every new addon, event, etc is subordinated to this purpose. I spend literally a decade playing with this game, and I really really feel sorry seeing what this otherwise one-of-a-kind masterpiece become. I miss the old days. Truly.
They don't want to balance. They want to make money, not to make a great game. They are falling into the same strategy as WoW
@@Maskytlet's not forget about the crying babies with op tanks (early ; chieftains) complaining about everybody using HE against them ( because believe it or not .. even gold ammo can't pen them when they are hull down). the HE rework was a gift for them not for the community... Trust me.

I am playıng for more than 10 years and yes it was fun from the beginning there was premium shell only sold for gold so nobody used it and it was hard tonplay you could bounced but now 2021 they penetrate you every time you cant bounce. The balance between tanks are huge. Maps name are same but the maps are completely different when super pershing was released it has 175 mm pen and it was enough then everything changed and super pershing become the weakest tank in tier 8 they said if you want you can sell it for the exact amount that you purshased. (Which I did) now you can see the average pen for tier 8 tanks become 220 for standart. Why you changed that so much. This game should fun but not anymore. And also too many cheaters in game something must be done for that. I watch games from experienced player and can shot badly sometimes but in game ı see people playing crazy hşt everything. Then I wonder and check their stats. Overall is yellow or red but last days he plays purple :) funny story. When you send ticket they say dont do that because we dont punish them with tickets. Whatever game is not funny anymore.
Sadly this is the reality of this cruel world. I’ve been playing on and off since 2011, when the community was still very small. Money has always been the most important thing if looking through the history of mankind and sadly the developers don’t care that people grow up with games that they have made, which has today lost it’s core charm

The problem is, all this is known already. Hundreds of pages on forums from ppl that complain about all these issues. And nothing is done. But i appreciate to see a CC doing this tbh. This is a very important voice and approach in my opinion and there should be more of them. I thank you Skill for the courage to do this video and you have a new fan. Hope they change some things in game.
Wargaming doesn't listen to their CC. They made it perfectly clear they don't give a damn about anyone after 9.0 dropped. Unless it's positive feedback etc. The only way to make them listen is if everyone stopped spending money on the game and stop playing for a month or so. Both being the best, but not spending any money is the next best thing since people would still play the game even if the servers on NA/SEA dropped to 5k and EU/RU dropped to 20k

And there is actually balance, well yes tier 7 needs to get fixed, but i still enjoy it. Meanwhile, wot pc community is complaining for over 2 years, and nothing is getting changed. I think blitz is in ok state right now.
@@leonaslevickis838 Blitz get's priority on balancing change because its a mobile game. By design it is made to appeal to those who do not game on a pc or console. That office worker who has never played a video game in his life who plays mobile game on his/her commute might actually play the game when they get home and take a break relaxing on the sofa and if for them "the game is to hard" you just lost that customer and potential source of income. Obviously thats a pretty niche example but Blitz is targeted for exactly those types of people, casual mobile gamers, who are a delicite bunch and probable can't tolerate a poorly balanced game.
Imagine a 120 mm shooting a car, well the same should happen to ebr.
Had placed a direct hit with a 260mm shell still the thing could drive away.
Same with 170mm shells, just bending a wheel and the gokart drives away.

Actually there's a video of a sherman shooting a pickup truck at a shooting range and hitting it in the tire, and it's extremely underwhelming. In that same video, a gigantic arty shell (exceeding 120mm) bounces off a row of 10 or so watermelons and flies off spinning end over end into the wild blue yonder...the slo-mo shows that the shattering watermelon form a wave of pink slush which the shell ends up "surfing," causing it to veer way off course. Perhaps that's what's wrong with EBRs; they have watermelon armor?
@@jasongieske817 I have seen them videos, The 75mm shell punches through the car like tin foil leaving a small hole, this is what would happen to an ebr; smashing crew and hitting ammo on the way through. The wheels would deflect the shot, but not enough to avoid the hull, a shell would still have enough kenetic energy to easily punch through. After hitting the melon the shell only deflects 1-2 degrees, this wouldnt save a tank.

Touched a lot of bases and forgot the cheapest, dirtiest mechanic in the game: charging cash to demount a piece of equipment. THAT shouldn't ever be in the game, no matter what's the excuse.
I'm still surprised nobody's talking about this "little" thing. This is one of the most irritating things in today's WOT.
To be fair, that has not been that big of a problem anymore. After the demounting kit were introduced, I always end up with them through missions (and I don't have a premium account). Not saying it cannot be improved but I would much rather have them do something about the matchmaking first.

Please contribute to making this clear to people to see, Demounting kits just should be nerfed in any freaking possible way, even if it was you get free 3 per day to use in same day on top of current mechanic.

This game was never about fast paced twitch shooting, its slow pre-ww2 tanks, then ww2 tanks that are still slow, and now you throw in EBRs that are like racing cars, the entire audience that they build up, are older games not kids into fast shooters and they throw something like EBRs that have such a high influence on battles zooming around the battle spotting everyone. Ridiculous whoever thought it was a good idea.
I would like some assistance damage when I damaged the wheels of EBR....they slow down but if someone else shoots them you get no assistance damage
Exactly, I know you're not exactly tracking them/immobilising them completely however you greatly decrease the speed so I don't see why we shouldn't get assistance damage for that.

This would be some big point. I watched keyhand(world of tanks official DE stream) showing the new sandbox test equpment in EBR X and yolo into enemy taking 4 hits in tires = 0 damage... hit repair and gone auto fireing hitting most of the shots at full speed. And repead the same again... and again... and again... As i asked he told me that penetrations through the tires can hit the hull and make damge... i did not agree... because i think it is like a big armor... but maybe i am wrong about the physic?

I was just playing the game yesterday when I realized that I don't have fun anymore. When I just started out about two years ago I thought that my frustration and bad performance were due to my own poor skill. Now, being a "green" player with 54 win ratio, I am more inclined to think that the game is just badly balanced. Every single situation you described happens to me regularly in almost every game session. I don't want to spend my time on this anymore. Life is too short.
I came to that conclusion about 4 months ago, i used to play between 50 and 70 games a day and now i can barely play 5 games before i get bored and log off, it's sad.
I dont have fun with the game since 2016-2017. Yet here I am, playing this almost everyday, spending money on the game regularly. Its a fucking adiction to me, unistalled the game SEVERAL TIMES, even changed my password of my previous account to some random combination of alphanumeric values so I could not log in again (and I could not re-gain access to my acc since the email attached to it its long time forgotten by me and dont remember that email password either).
Now, I created a new account and already spent a lot of money again. I know its my fault and not WG's, but still...
@@FockeWulfFW200 I know what you by addiction, i played World of Warcraft for 10 years and quit at least 5 times in those 10 years but i always went back till one day i had a revelation and that was i wasn't having fun anymore and i didn't really wanna play it anymore and that's when i finally quit for good, sometimes these games are like a bad relationship, get out early before you end up owing alimony.
I stopped spending my money for them. This remains the only language, which WG is understanding. You may consider the same.
@@FockeWulfFW200 I've been there, so I know what it feels like. If you feel like you want to quit addictive gaming, but you just can't, then I'd recommend you to try switching to other games. I personally tried to play into narrative-driven games like Metro or Firewatch. I found this experience to be rewarding. It really filled me up spiritually. Also, if you think of it every human activity is a game of sorts. So, another thing that helped me was to think of regular activities in terms of scores and goals. This helped me to distract my attention from WoT. Helpfully, if you really want to stop playing excessively, you'll be able to do that. I wish you luck.
Agree with light tank and arty limits, 3 & 2 + no more than one wheelie in any game, and preferably none in my games 😂. I would happily wait 90 seconds to get in to a game that might last more than five minutes.
Then you just need to play after midnight on eu server, you will wait 90 seconds every game.

I agree and stopped playing this game after 8 years. Sadly WarGaming will not change anything and will milk as long as they can. They don't care about retention, every player that leaves will be replaced by someone else who will be enticed to put in some money. What I am saying is that the goals of the players/community and WarGaming is not the same.

Hilarious how WG balance shell penetration and damage perfectly in Steel Hunter with sacrificing damage for extra penetration, but can't balance it in random battles. All of the points you make here skill are why I have been playing this game since 2011, but only have 12k battles. I can't stand playing this game for more than 2 months straight without a 6 month to a year break in between.

Same. Account created May 18, 2011 but I have just under 7.6k battles. It's a struggle to play more than an hour per session and I'll often have days or weeks in between sessions because this game has gotten so incredibly P2W that it frustrates me. Some days I'll log in, play one or two games, and quit in disgust.
A shame really, because the game was so fun in 2011 and 2012.
So true 🤣 I have 22k battles since 2012 but most of these battles were fought 2012-2014. In recent years I only play a couple of months every year. It is a love-hate relationship.

There is NO PROBLEM with the match maker. It's optimal. I know this is so, becaue Ekeboo told me on stream - befor e chat banning.. A number of times.
The playerbase don't know what's good for them.
There are no hidden stats - the WG Director of the Asia region told me that personally.
It's normal and good for the players to have each team with 2 heavies, 2 mediums and all the rest sniper shitzels, EBRs and Shittillery.
Hey - you forgot the map rotation - the same map twice in a row. I've also been told that does not happen.
It's like they don't know how to read their own logs.

PS I like this new, "they took my carrot away" angry Skill, even more than the old Skiiiiiiiil.
The spotting thing is probably a bug related to having two spotting disks when you point the turret to the target (the cuppola disk and the manlet disk) and the fact you only have the cuppola when you turn the gun away.
It's probably not designed to do this, but I'd bet there's a modifier calculation error in the code.
Lesson for the WG guy you spoke to - dev's sound smart, some of them are smart, but they are often too confirdent in their smartness - never trust what a dev says.
(I base this characterisationof devs on around 5 years as a dev myself and about 20 years deplouying and supporting dev code on production servers - i.e. operations)
I agree with everything you said and I have something to add. I really, really, really HATE unbalanced premium tanks. Why would you ever grind the LTTB when you can just buy the LT-432 which is better in EVERY SINGLE WAY? There a lot of premiums that are insanely unbalanced. 703 II is a tier 9 heavy tank. LT-432 is a tier 10 light tank. Bourrasque is a tier 9 medium. KPZ 07 RH is a tier 9 medium. The KPZ can go at 65 at tier 8! That's faster than most tier 10 mediums! It has broken DPM and broken HE rounds. Finally I want to add that the FV4005 and FV215b 183 are horrible for the game. They are not unbalanced, they are BROKEN. To be able to one shot all tier 8s and 9s and most tier 10s is an absolute joke. Skill, I promise you - from now on I am not spending a single cent on WoT, until I see changes.

one of the most regret to me was spending too much games. because of that i am still playing this game even after 4 years. i can only play 5 to 10 games/day because i started playing this game after i started job. i naturally enjoyed this game before special ammo change from gold to silver.
I am one of those who doesn't watch Skill's streams as his "style" doesn't suit me, but... I am saying that he is great player and he understands game and game mechanics perfectly. At the end, man 3-marked every single tank in the game. I agree on every question he raised here. He is *completely* right about everything. Especially regarding paying money for such a game.
It would be great seeing other streamers raising their voice/opinion about current state of the game.

Hell even QB has said the same thing……but WG are just talking into an echo chamber. One wise monkey has hands over ears singing la la la la.
In addition to all this:
1: Poor hit box modelling, we have all been there, aiming right on the edge of a cliff, the sight is completely free form the cliff, yet when you fire it still hits the cliff somehow...
2: Rocks feel more like ice than rocks, no grip and your tank just slides around like a 3 year old's first time on the rink...
3: Physics for EBR, if a tank does a 180, going at 90 km/h, like it does in WoT, the crew will be turned in to mince.
4: +-25% is trash, at most it should be 15%. This kills it for e-sports and just makes the game too unpredictable.
5: Poor interface, I am still trying to figure out if there is a way to see if you can install all modules/equipment on stock tracks or not, without unlocking them first. In other words, should I grind that gun first or the tracks? There maybe a way but after 35k battles I have not yet figured it out and it is so damn easy to make it more intuitive..
6: You get those epic medals like 30k base capture points but that it is.. no reward for it other than that medal itself... Rewards are very minimal in this game, considering some of us are paying freaking 90 Euros for a prem tank..
7: Too much spam like unneeded decals, stupid camouflage, presented as some sort of super prize... no one needs that shit
8: The biggest one for me, is that the game is not developing anywhere near fast enough, in fact you might argue it is regressing.. No progress, hardly any changes to game play, and cannot fix bugs that were present when I started playing... in 2011 like the cliff hit boxes. The game just feels too 2014 with outdated physics, graphics and destruction. The penetration holes on tanks are ridiculous, we all had those one meter smudges that don't even follow the contour of the tank. Lazy.

- 3 arties makes the game unplayable. Only counter-play to arty: Never get spotted.
- Too much mobility. Mobility is the great enabler for tanks in today's meta, and more so the great enabler of turbo games.
- Too much view range. You cannot really move much around the maps anymore without getting spotted. Just go with the blob instead, blobbing also help you win/lose quicker.
- Too small maps. Inflating mobility and view range is effectively shrinking the already too small maps even further.
- EBRs annihilates all other light tank gameplay for both allied and enemy light tanks that aren't EBRs.
- Most technical innovation in the past few years come from WG copying 3rd party modifications into the game. The only innovation WG does themselves, comes from their marketing department. I consider all these "rebalances" just marketing BS too.
Yes the view range problem you mentioned is absolutely true and many players don’t realize this, they much rather complain about arty etc. Having larger and larger viewrange makes the map even smaller and thus makes it repetitive gameplay, as you can only go to a few spots in every map. No room for creativity, no room for the element of surprise, and the repetitivness is one of the reasons why I stopped playing after 10 years...

Auto loader is a good and innovative mechanic of the game and I love it. The problem is balancing tanks in the game, techtree tanks and pre tanks. We clearly see some worth playing much more than the rest. And that shows a bad sign of balancing when you have a thing can do well in almost all circumstances, while some constantly get fked everywhere and when. There are so much things to talk about the imbalance existing in the game, Im afraid we need hours if we want to list them all.
Autoloaders don't bother me too much, it's when one team has all autoloaders and the other one or none.

I think people need to finally understand that WG knows all of that and they don't care. Frustration and the negation of skill was always part of the game design. You increase frustration by having randomized MM and RNG. You increase frustration by creating stock grinds and giving an advantage to people able to afford shooting gold. Then you offer shortcuts in exchange for money. This was the business model since the start. Right now you guys seem pretty frustrated.
WG's been acting like they've been living under a rock for quite a while. Chiefs, 279s, EBRs, arties, and MM are left free to ruin random games. No one asked for the Progetto nerf and they did it anyway.

The amount of levels they have to manage frustration is amazing. RNG is not random. It's computer intensive to generate random numbers, far easier to assign them as an "array". MM is not about who gets what tanks on which side, but "who" is on which side in which tank. A constant 15\5 is the result of stacking the teams with uneven skill players. Not the WG rating you see on your profile, but the tank per tank rating.
It's not personal. No one is rigging my results, but the game is rigged to have one side always stronger than the other.

@@BudoReflex exactly right, shame people underestimate WG's capacity to balance things out. It is perfectly balanced so that it generates the shortest average game time. More games / hour = faster grinds = more gold spent on crew retraining and more credits needed in general to play at high tier. Shame we don't have access to that statistic, I'm sure it's been tumbling in the last few years, and not by accident. They're a money-making machine, a very good one at that, and, as skill said, until they see their revenues drop (more than what's seasonally normal), they have no incentive to even begin fixing the game, because there's nothing to fix, from their perspective.

Wargaming could make so much more money if they would actually listen to player feedback and criticism, it's not even funny. With a game with this much potential, it's crazy how Wargaming is shooting their own legs by not looking in the future. I think it's safe to say, if the game would fix its greatest flaws (MM, unbalanced tanks for example), they playerbase would already rise a lot. Because many veterans would come back, if the problems were solved they left the game for, and new players would just have a lot better time getting into the game.
Finally someone that made it simple for WG.. Some of my friends say that "as long as they make money they wont care" and i reply to that, "Imagine if they actually made some actual balance changes that would make the game more fun, older players would return,newer players wouldnt stop playing and by default more players=more money".. I don't believe that not a single employee in wargaming thought about this

WG is losing players left right and center and they cant overcome their small-mindedness. It's the definition of madness: doing the same things over and over and hoping for a different outcome....
If they actually make a good game, they can even make money completely off of cosmetics alone. It's a tank game with 1000s of possible customization options they haven't explored. Instead they create skins like the Overlord that aren't even properly mapped to every tank. The skin goes upside down with seams running all over the place on some tanks.
They are lazy, thats why their grandfathers' laziness caused collapse of bloody ussr.
To be honest, i've basically done with the game, sometimes in a 3 players platoon i play 4 or 5 games, but usually even less, like 1 or 2 because this is simply not enjoyable anymore. I have the Chief and the 279e and even the t10 EBR, but even with those its just a waste of time. Constant arty spam, 4 ebrs, not balanced maps with not balanced mm. No chance to grind t7 and t8 effectivly, because of the constant +2. But at least we have brand new t8 prems in every month, rebalances on older t8 prems so people will buy them and an everyday action on t8 prems. The only mode i like is Frontline. Yeah it is boring after some times, but it has some positive sides with credit and xp. Also you can grind tanks more or less. Probably WG gonna ruin that mode aswell but hey, at least we have steel hunt with literelly zero use. So for me it seems like WG haven't planned this game to last this long. They have no idea how to make enjoyable content or have any idea to at least preserve the enjoyable content that is coming from another programmer, like Frontline. They have no idea how to continue this, thats why the spam of styles, paintings, black tanks, wheeled shit and the basic balance issues so they can force this to go even without ideas.
Ironically enough that 279e player has problems with t7 and t8 in modern game where it's no more than 50 battles for either. And less than that for a good player. Or you spent 1000 eur on boosts to get reward tanks and now salty they are not allowed in rankeds?

I'm very close to just quitting after playing since beta. I just can't take it any more. I've been at 58-60% solo WR for 30,000 battles but the last few months I can't even hit 35-40% on a good day. The NA server is so terribly unplayable, 3-4 minutes to get a battle that lasts 3 minutes.
The biggest problem I can see is they have chased away all of the average normal players with the bullshit MM and weird RNG that seems like its on steroids compared to a few years ago. The 47-51% range is almost entirely absent so there is no stability.
They keep adding features so we have more and more "turbo battles" where new players can't learn anything, and now its very possible for someone to be at tier 10 in 300-500 battles with all of the boosters and stuff. You look at the teams and high tiers are infested with people under 1k games with 30% win rates that cant figure out if what they did was right or wrong because everything happened so fast.
WG doesn't care much, they admitted in their stream the other day battles are down from an average of almost 8 minutes to under 5 minutes.
EDIT: as far as EBR, to me it shouldn't be a clown car light tank. The purpose of those vehicles in real life is to bring a big gun on a mobile package for city warfare. It should be treated like the Stryker in AW, basically a paper TD with decent mobility.
Even if they do make them more combat focused, they need to get rid of the ridiculously unfair auto-aim they get and make them at least stop to repair modules. I don't particularly care if they make good active scouts so long as they don't have insane advantages that defy every convention of every other vehicle in the game. Even artillery is more consistent with other vehicles, the EBR feels like you're suddenly playing carmagedon or something.
Wheeled v. is separate branch, not a light "tank". 1 per battle.
I agree, my win8 is over 2100, and my recent win8 is close to 2500 which according to wotlabs is better than 99.90% of players on the server. I have a 43% win rate in the last week. Lost 7 matches within a half hr last night. Tried different tanks, different tiers, same results every match 5 people dead in 1st min with no chance to win. I know they can do PR-based MM as they now do it in platoons so why not have a 20% gap max instead of having top-tier 10000 rated player vs top-tier 3000 rated player. So if one team has a 10000 rated player the other should have at least an 8000 rated top tier player so you at least have a chance. They won't do that though they are all about squeezing every penny out of the players they can now. Fast match = more $$.

I stopped spending money on the game since I lost 15 times in the row, in all battles I was 1-3rd by dmg/exp and in all games my team always had 4-6 players who did 0dmg and enemies had 1-2 0dmg players.

It's been a year since I last played. I still keep up by watching WOT UA-camrs.
But between the EBRs and the ridiculous equipment enhancements to the still failed MM I just couldn't enjoy the game I use to love. I'd take SPGs over EBRs any day. Yes they were annoying but as long as you played smart you could limit the hits you could receive. The SPGs really weren't any different than an (undetected) tank shooting at you from halfway across the map. Not easy to defend yourself from that ether but you could. At least you can pin a tank instead of having your 120mm shell bounce off an EBRs rubber tire.

Yes, I've only been playing about 2.5 years and I've come to the same conclusion.
New players spend money.
Old players have everything and spend comparitively little.
So there is no reason to worry about retaining old players.
About 2-3 years and WG has sold them all the prems and the gold and the players started seeing the cracks and has stopped or significantly slowed down their spending - so why bother with player retention?

Stopped playing a while ago. Then I saw a video about this "catch postcard for good deals". And then it turned out most of the time, it wasn't deal. The value was the same. Or sometimes, even worse. I still don't understand how that went under the radar. In a lot of countries, false advertisement like that is punishable. Baffles my mind.
It didn't go under the Radar it was covered by a few streamers, all the Deals were Garbage.
The deal being worse than standard offer is not punishable. They are not advertising anything other than "a system with deals".

3yrs ago and WG have done nothing to improve matchmaking, you either get a fully experienced team or you get paired with a full "ill snipe from the back heavy tank" team with no support at all.
for WG there is only Black and White, you either get rigged game to lose or rigged game to win, no such thing as balance.

What if the ferraris can't repair the wheels while driving? This wouldn't take away the ability why they are other than a tracked light, but i think it would be a significant change.
It could be pretty neat actually considering they lose agility and acceleration for each wheel lost. If they can't turn to get away and they can't repair without getting shot it makes them vulnerable and would discourage the yolo rushes through the lines with laser accurate gunnery.

Over the past 18 months, I pulled back from playing higher tiers. This coincided with the advent of wheeled scum. I was playing mostly tiers 4-5-6. Six months ago, I moved to Spain and asked for my account to be transferred to Europe. I was told no, it would never happen. Since then, I've tapered off and haven't play now for 2 months. In the past I averaged $4-500 spent each year. That is now done. My account is gathering dust and my premium time is counting down to zero.
Skill and Claus Kellerman are my last links to this game. I watch them because they are entertaining. Not necessarily because of what they are playing.

A few months ago "Flamu" was equally forthright about WarGaming's shortcomings in World of Warships, so they ended his being a CC (community contributor). I applaud Skill for this video and WarGaming should be thinking hard about how they can fix existing problems - but I fear that they will think that just "firing" Skill will fix things. Don't forget that this is a Belorussian company and the mindset that problems can be "fixed' through totalitarian measures is pervasive.

Funny thing, the World of Warships side of the company *used* to be better in terms of PR and player-friendliness than the World of Tanks side. These days it seems to be the opposite. Though that's not a matter of WoT getting better, just WoWS getting a lot worse.

What I would like to add is the combination of the "never nerf premiums" policy and the habit of Wargaming to add overpowered premiums to the game. These premiums are completely dominating the game and there is no way for balancing them since they can't be nerved. (Progetto 46, EBR 75, leFH, Pz. V/VI, KV-220 etc.) Imagine being a new player and getting your first t8 tank, completely stock and then having to compete with fully maxed out Progetto- and Bourrasque-Unicorns... It's just not healthy for the game.
The really funny thing with the Pz V/IV is that when WG downtiered and buffed it, the Pz III K was already in the game and it was clearly obvious the V/IV will break the Tier 4-5 MM, hell even Tier 6 to some extent. They still went through it.
That's why i was excited when the FIRST frontline season was launched... Everyone played that mode with his tech tree t8 tanks.... I grinded mine as well and played the mode to noose bleed... Then second season... Progeto progeto progeto progeto progeto progeto

Yup, spending years and years to make simple changes that were not the problem in the first place. It's been their thing for so long now that they only think of the short term profit. Let's say the playerbase consisted of only 100k players, what WG currently does is milk that 100k and the numbers keep dropping. I can't understand why they choose to do that instead of actually spending time and effort to have a fair and balanced game that would in turn attract more and more players and potential customers. Keeping the players happy is what would get them more money and support long-term as a company but the damn vodka-soaked monkey brains are too stupid to understand that. WG are literally killing their own game.

The best way to fix the problem, and actually get WG to listen... We all need to uninstall at the same time. the game is a joke. WG doesn't listen, they know they have a cash cow because in order to compete, people get sucked into spending cash to try and "fix" why they are losing games, but no amount of cash will fix the core of the issue. EBR, ARTY and poor Match Making. There is no balance in the match making. EVERY game is a lopsided loss for one side. As well, I am convinced that MM is by design. The algorithm is designed to keep most players at around the 50% win mark. That is why one day, you have a great day, win 75% of your games, then like clockwork, the next, you lose 75% of your games. Think of WoT as an online casino. They dangle some wins to get you excited, then you lose a bunch to get you to spend more.
My stats havent changed for 4 years. Just under 47%. Agree have days cant lose. Next day couldnt win a game if mylife depended on it.
The same issue happens with me. If you have a succesfull day, after that, the algorithm understand you have won a lot. So, deliberately start put you in a team of "rookies" that scores 1x15, 5 x15, etc. Result, 8...10 defeats in a roll or more. The intention is that the players never be satisfied in order to paying gold, pay a better gun, etc.

Yes but this algorithm have been around for years with many games (especially mobile games) having this kind of addictive dopamine tactics. What concerned people need to talk about more is the growing VIEWRANGE. If you think about it in every map you have only a few spots to go to, and as soon as you make a tiny push forward you get spotted. The space for manuvering is extremely limited in a already small map. Maxed out crews with bond equipment is an issue no one is talking about. Todays WoT have no room for creativity and element of surprise, only repetitive gameplay.
From personal experience, when bringing up these issues with WG the counter arguments are either: a) not my department, cannot comment, b) how you feel is not how everyone else feels (we have data, when brining up 3x arta), or c) that is why we have sandbox (and then completely ignoring the obvious majority who dislike with the argument the game needs to keep evolving)
Or don't forget the "You don't see the big picture" reply from those morons.
As long as WG keeps making money, the only changes we’ll get will be tweaks in order to squeeze more cash from their players. Bottom line is money.

I haven't spent a dime on this game in years. I stopped playing almost a year ago after playing for 4 years.
Me personally stopped playing random battles about 6 months ago when I noticed me saying to myself don't play this anymore, you will just rage, I played it again, I raged again because of 5 light tank and 3 arty battles and I quit. WG won't see not a euro, but a single cent until light tanks will be limited to 2 per team, arty limited to 1 per team (or arty missions being removed so majority of the games would consist of 0 or 1 arty's).
Like I said to Skill: I stopped playing WoT years ago after spending thousands of Euros in this game and WG never has shown any interest what so ever in my absence!
Players don't play arty mainly for missions. They play arty because it is easy cheat mode: low risk high reward gameplay. It has always been this way but lately it's the only way most players can have consistent 'fun' in the game.
I have one more thing to the list that bugs me. Those 30 seconds load in, where everyone is just parked, and all you can do, is read the teamlist and admire ppl's camo. Realistically I think most ppl just tab out and watch youtube instead.
But I wish, we could move for those 30 secs. Not freely around the map. There needs to be a time for everyone to load in. But if we had 30 seconds to move around in the "spawn" area, we could see where ppl are planning on deploying. So if I see 15 ppl going to one side of the spawn area, we have 30ish seconds to fix it. For someone to say "hey .. this is bad" in chat, and for someone to go to the other side. That could lower the amount of lemmingtrains I think at least.
Thoughtful comment, and a good suggestion as well. Prebattle communication and prep might help us avoid those lemming trains, but you know the Ferraris are going to sort out the most advantageous launching points and dive deeper behind enemy lines.
We have the markers on the mini-map to indicate where we are going during the countdown which very few use. Not sure this would help much but might make for some good traffic jams.

They should reduce it, it's not 2011 any more. I'm sure they have stats on load times or whatever I never see people slow load any more.

I've uninstalled WoT for the last time. Until they solve these problems, I have better things to do with my time, and a million other things to spend my money on.
EBRs should have to stop in order to fix their wheels, they can keep driving with it broken but it can’t be fixed unless they are stopped.

recently I went to 3-mark my low tier LTs and I found myself cursing WG MM team and banging to everything around as during 70+ games I got only one Malinovka and only one Prohorovka but getting many Overlords, Paris, Ensk and other shit maps for LT several times. It was one solid series games on LT and I was literally praying for any fucking open map, I was crying please WG give me one more Prohorovka. BUT... if you change your LT to Heavy tank you suddenly getting all open maps one after another! Prohorovka almost every 5 game and Malinovka even more often. WTF WG!!!!! Where are Himmelsdorf dissapeared and all other city maps??? It is so crazy and unfair!

Play an odd tank and all of a sudden you get siegfried line, for the first time in 75 games, as if certain vehicles are slotted to certain maps, so no obvious map rotation.i would be happy if WOT put the same # of prems per side. 2 borrassce on red team, and we get a lorraine and a pershing. As for gold why not just limit % you can carry say 35% of total loadout. I finally said funk it after two years of not touching ebrs and started playing them.
low tier light tanks gun>spotting. So shoot people on every map. To fix "gold" ammo, remove standard ammo altogether, bam problem solved.
I think the best way to balance EBR's in matchmaking isn't to reduce the number in games, but give them the same hit points as say: artillery. They're not proper tanks, so why should they have the same hit points as tier 10 light tanks? So if EBR's got the same number of HP as artillery, this would make them more balanced and easier to counter.
The reason the tank was lit for 16 seconds is that he has the designated target skill perk and directive which require that the gun be aimed ( within 15' ) at the enemy tank. If you test without perk or directive the tank is lit for 12 seconds whether you aim at the tank or not with the radio detection. There may be a bug that the perk overrides the radio detection equipment so it thinks you don't have the equipment when you are not aimed at it.
(based on their old mechanic videos) most spot things and durations have limitations. like 445m rule. So, spot duration has also I think like max duration is 16 and min 6-10(?).
Wargaming needs to talk with their community much more, and actually play the game.. its obvious that they dont understand how the game works and metas. they always try to change the stuff that shouldnt be changed, and problems remain untouched

C,mon. Are you saying WG don't play their own game? What about all the sheriff's you see on the NA server. There is a sheriff in nearly every game! (Haven't seen a single sheriff for 2 years now - new players must be confused when they see the 'hunt the sheriff' mission and wonder what it is)

You forgot to mention something pretty inportant , that ties into gold ammo spam . Wich is more and more tanks WITHOUT any frontal weakspots whatsoever...
I think the landslide battles hapen because of hulldown tanks and autoloaders. Once one side of the map falls and tanks start getting shot by high burst damage the rest of the team just melts away before they have time to react or ability to do so because of map design. If the gold ammo did more damage with same or less pen no one would be complaining. The problem of gold ammo is that it makes slow heavy armor tanks just slow exp and credit milk cows. The armor is currently useles if anyone can just press 2 and auto pen you with no aiming.

There are many , extremely many 45% and below player at high tier in a single team and it's a losing simulator,they should also fix this for eg. split a little bit even by Personal rating or so
Another thing that is never mentioned is stock tanks, the grind for modules is such an outdated thing and turns off so many players, i have had 5 friends play the game they got to tier 8 mostly some got to one tier 10 and they all ended up quitting mostly due to the grind experience on stock tanks when there are full teams of OP premium tanks. In fact most of the monetary aspects of this game are highly negative when it comes to player base, op premium tanks, premium time, premium ammo (which is just flat out better), stock tanks which u need free xp for, cosmetics ,battle pass ,op modules and many other monetary aspects, some of these are perfectly fine in my opinion: premium, cosmetics, battlepass and balanced premium tanks is perfectly fine but the rest is stretching it nowadays and turns off many, i also have the cw tanks and stuff and imo they are also something that doesnt really exist in games nowadays because giving better players better things isnt really a popular model, most games give collectibles or cosmetics and i do think that would be overall better for the games health (ofc i personally love to have these op tanks but i do see how it can turn off ppl and make battles shorter)
