Watching this do I can put back all of the lines the previous owner cut and plugged. Without the charcoal can, the smell of gas is so strong when I drive it gives me headaches. There's nothing to gain from cutting it out.
I inherited a 82 J 10 with the 360 engine. My question is ..what about all the metal lines screwed into the exhaust manifolds? Can they be removed and plugged up? ....Thanks for your video...
Yes you can. The metal lines going to your exhaust manifold are for your EGR valve. I disconnected mine, it wont hurt your engine as far as performance but it may affect fuel economy and richer exhaust fumes.
@@Tylerjschmidt Thank you for your reply...I hope if I run into any problems, or have any questions, I can in in touch with you again. BTW my 1982 360 has the motorcraft carburetor..... ...After you deleted everything, how did it effect your miles per gallon?
@@Tylerjschmidt ...How did you plug back up the bolt holes when you removed the metal lines from the exhaust manifold?... Did you re-use the bolts, that had the holes, which bolted the manifolds together?....Thanks
Malicious Upload Deleting all those vacuum accessories will decrease the negative pressure on the crankcase, it increases horsepower, and it does improve emissions. The reason why I deleted everything was to save the hassle of too much vacuum.
I need help with mine! I gotta 75 waggy!. I wanna pun o a performance intake and carter afb( edelbrock carb) to it but i do t have any of the diagrams!....so where do i start capping? In order to run this bad boy! Oh and should i stay with the original carb? (Motorcraft)
@@TheChaos98 Sorry for the late response, but your stock carburetor should have a electronic chock that runs off of vacuum, I recommend keeping that but you can cap off everything else, and if you wanted to run a 4 barrel carburetor you can do that to, but I honestly wouldn't waste your time because I had that same idea for my wagoneer, I had a stock 360 which isn't made for high performance to begin with, so a 4 barrel might increase throttle response and pick up but also put a significant decrease in gas mileage.

Ruach Adam I didn’t notice a big difference considering I also deleted the EGR valve, if I have kept that it would have had more significant results.

What are the benefits of deleting all these vacuum connections?
