To my surprise my step daughter who hates getting dirty is the one who's elbow deep in the dirt and grime with me. The boy still thinks he's getting it at 16. He's not, my step daughter will recieve it when she's 16.

Man this car brings back memories, I was born in '83 and in '90 my dad came home with a black cherry w/ black interior '70 Monte with a 454, a little rough around the edges but a real asphalt stomper. I got to drive it a few times to high school before I bought an '84 regal as my first car. Eventually it got to the point it was ready for a full resto and he was recently remarried and had a new child on the way at 43 so he sold it in '07 to a guy for a man and his 14 y/o daughter as a first car project, I still see it from time to time at the local cruise ins and while no longer a daily driver she still has it now at nearly 30 years old.
Damn you guys are so good together, loving this content so damn much. And what a BEAUTY that Monte Carlo is. Hope you guys can complete the trifecta and work with Derek from Vice Grip Garage. The revival cinematic universe!
I gotta give this guy 2 thumbs up for the storing a classic car in a garage with an actual roof and concrete floor! I can't believe that car has been sitting 10 plus years! I know if I had a big block Monte Carlo like that it wouldn't go a week without being driven.
It's amazing how quickly Tire smoke turns into smiles! I used to work at a shop and at the end of the day I would put worn out tires on the back of my 442 and go out with some friends and burn the tires-off it. Then the next day I put the regular tires back on and drive it like a normal person. Good memories! Thanks, Bob from Virginia USA

Money and time. My father always loved his 65 impala but between raising 2 kids, fixing on the house, and working full time, it’s often hard to come up with money or time to put into an old project car, and when the time comes that you either have some money, or some time, it seems you only ever have one, and not the other. I fell in love with the styling of the 70ish Monty a few years ago after seeing one done really well. I'm only a few years younger than this guy but they haven't changed since I was dragging them around in the 90's with a little Buick V6. Yep it's got a big block with all the stuff, built to the hilt. Okay, it looks good, sounds good, but I'll pay $1 for every HP it puts to the ground over 325.

I had a Mallory dual point distributor in my 74 Chevy 4x4 I hauled wood and farmed with for 6 years and never replaced the points. Rolling burnouts are REAL BURNOUTS
Just one suggestion I didn’t see anybody do it but if you ever pull out our old car out like this, the first thing you should do is take the spark plugs out and shoot a little trans fluid in each one of the spark plugs so then when you do get the starter put in or you start cranking it over, you move it up the cylinders before you actually start You’ll get a little blue phone from burning up the fluid but it’s a whole lot better than starting motor up with no oil at all in the cylinders for almost 10 years
That's actually Super Cool... You and Junkyard Digs get Content. And the original owner Gets his Car Back up and Running Strong. Good to either put up for sale or keep in garage for occasional Runs ... Good video. I really only see this car rarely. My first guitar teacher had the same color. Vinal top.. but his was a 350ci . And the movie fast n furious. Tokyo Drift... In the beginning.. old school Monte Carlo

Just watching that reminds me of my wife's uncle. We got his / now my Camaro running. The first thing he did was get a half a block away.. Well just blew the tires off through the first 3 gears flat footing it and doing Dulcitch style power shifts. Just let's you know what they built them to do. And yes. I will occasionally let my foot "slip" off the clutch. Possibly all the way to 4th. But it looked like a blast to ride with him in his old toy.
Hey guys, great video like always ! For the French fans like me, I just want to say that Monte Carlo is a neighborhood in the town/state of Monaco. If you look on a map it's in France but the city is a state known for his Casino, his nice bay and his formula 1 track in the streets.
You should have oiled the hood hinges before you even tried to close it because you saw what it was doing when you opened it but now you closed it again.
That Monte is pretty solid👍 cleaned up decent and don't run too bad. I would've threw in the loverboy🤘tape🎸. Also you guys are like brothers working together. cool 😎

Hey guys, great video like always ! For the French fans like me, I just want to say that Monte Carlo is a neighborhood in the town/state of Monaco. If you look on a map it's in France but the city is a state known for his Casino, his nice bay and his formula 1 track in the streets.
Dalton you need a shirt of you asking jd something crazy like, “is that where the severed head was”, and jd says “yep”.
Pretty cool starter knowledge!😎👍 fix those header leaks and put an exhaust system on it.
I see you are wearing nothing but the finest from the Mortske collection. That's pretty neat.
Should of dropped the "slingshot engaged"
@@austinmyers7694 60% of the time, it works EVERY time!
You should have oiled the hood hinges before you even tried to close it because you saw what it was doing when you opened it but now you closed it again.
After being opened several times it was fine. You just have to know how to open one of those hoods
Monte Carlos were always underrated, awesome car!
That Monte is pretty solid👍 cleaned up decent and don't run too bad. I would've threw in the loverboy🤘tape🎸. Also you guys are like brothers working together. cool 😎
Kevin and Dalton, you guys could be the new Click and Clack of UA-cam. In case your too young to know who that is they had a radio show on NPR called "car talk" look it up.
You can tell that car was "built to the gills" by the Highjacker bunny and thrush smoking bird stickers! High performance right there!👍
stands on it harder than fred flintstone ........ " wasnt even tryin " haha love it
Those wheels are excellent!Back in 1987 I started upgrading a '78 Malibu and those exact Chevy Rally wheels were the first enhancements (followed closely by GnR and Metallica window decals)
Well done gents, well done indeed. Very cool, getting his old ride running for him, very nice car!
That was almost too easy 😅 what a sweet car. And it sounds awesome! Even cooler that he's had it since he was 17
Such a beautiful car , an amazing original paint beauty
Allways loved first gen Monte Carlo's. Big block makes it sweeter.
Nice big block setup in this Monte
I had a brown 70 monte when I was a teen , it was set up for racing the only problem was the heater core was taken out of it and most of the duct to make heat , I drove it even in winter it was not easy with no heat I had my 65 olds 2 of them and a 69 chevelle , I sold my monte to get a wedding ring , I miss my monte it was fast
I love these Collabs, i found pbg from jyd, but after binging pbg i can't pick a favorite. You guys all rock.
No need to pick favorites, as long as it's me
@@PoleBarnGarage ok, you win this time...
That was very cool. Enjoyed it. You guys are dam good at this. I'm a 38 year mechanic and I was impressed.
That is my favorite car right there 71 Monte Carlo I had a green one just like it. Had a horseshoe shifter and a 454. . But good looking car and sound good and looks good. . ❤❤❤. You guys did a great job 💯👍.
crazy to think how many cool cars there are like this that have sat for a decade that just need half a day of tuning up to get back nice again
I am trying the vortec starter you mention but there is only a single terminal for the wiring not two posts (one for the yellow and one for the purple) like the original starter. Where do you hook up the yellow and purple wires on the vortec starter?
in the late 80's i had a 71 monte, dark green ,black vinyl had a 350 4 barrel was a cool car
Love it !! My favorite muscle car. Favorite year as well!! Keep it up!
Great video!! It's always nice to see a first car reunited with it's owner!
Man that is one good looking car. Ever since I saw Lalo Salamanca driving one in Better Call Saul I fell in love with those
Such a gorgeous car! My uncle had a white one like that and I always hoped I could get my hands on it someday. Unfortunately, he sold it without me knowing. 😢
That Monte is in great shape! Fix that header leak and clean the inside, it will sell for sure in a auction!
