I often wonder how cars end up getting left in a garage for 10+ years when the owners seem to love them so much. Just odd to me, but glad you guys got it back going for him!
Money and time. My father always loved his 65 impala but between raising 2 kids, fixing on the house, and working full time, it’s often hard to come up with money or time to put into an old project car, and when the time comes that you either have some money, or some time, it seems you only ever have one, and not the other. Buddy had one and the room under the hood could fit 2 engines! Lol. Can't say exactly what it is about this style Monte but it's just absolutely sexy to my eyes anywho! Looking forward to watching more of ur content, keep it up!
Just one suggestion I didn’t see anybody do it but if you ever pull out our old car out like this, the first thing you should do is take the spark plugs out and shoot a little trans fluid in each one of the spark plugs so then when you do get the starter put in or you start cranking it over, you move it up the cylinders before you actually start You’ll get a little blue phone from burning up the fluid but it’s a whole lot better than starting motor up with no oil at all in the cylinders for almost 10 years
congratulations on getting it running and shiny again thanks a lot Kevin for giving somebody a hand to get their old ride running again sometimes they just need a kick in the butt to get them interested once again and were you able to get both sets of points working or did it just run off the one set I have worked on daul point Distributors a lot in the past and they are very difficult to get both sets working
I love Monte Carlos, and the boomer energy is strong with this one. "Built" big block making every bit of 250hp, but probably jumped beer cans back in the day.
I had a Mallory dual point distributor in my 74 Chevy 4x4 I hauled wood and farmed with for 6 years and never replaced the points. Rolling burnouts are REAL BURNOUTS
I had a brown 70 monte when I was a teen , it was set up for racing the only problem was the heater core was taken out of it and most of the duct to make heat , I drove it even in winter it was not easy with no heat I had my 65 olds 2 of them and a 69 chevelle , I sold my monte to get a wedding ring , I miss my monte it was fast

Hey guys, great video like always ! For the French fans like me, I just want to say that Monte Carlo is a neighborhood in the town/state of Monaco. If you look on a map it's in France but the city is a state known for his Casino, his nice bay and his formula 1 track in the streets.

Very nice! My dad had a 72 Chevelle SS with the 402, he hated the starter that came with the car, he swapped it out with I believe a 427 L88 starter and that was in the car until the day it was sold in 2000 after i took the car over. always a good running engine. For it's girth it did very well against those modded LX 5.0's. The chevelle with only 3.73's M22, headers, mild cam, intake exhaust and Holley 750. I wish i never sold it. Peace.
You should have oiled the hood hinges before you even tried to close it because you saw what it was doing when you opened it but now you closed it again.

Came from junkyards channel and enjoy the style of work an humor keep it up!!!
I've got a 71 402 0in my garage out of my 72 Impala. We bored it out another .030" and balanced it, put a 330 hp.speed pro cam in it and bolted it back up to a Turbo 400. Slid them back into my Impala and made some smoke kinda like you guys did.
I just love the old stuff.
Love it !! My favorite muscle car. Favorite year as well!! Keep it up!
Best years of the Monte, 70-72. I really regret not being able to restore my 71 monte but NY salt and my inexperience at the time got the best of me. One of the best looking classics!
I see you are wearing nothing but the finest from the Mortske collection. That's pretty neat.
Should of dropped the "slingshot engaged"

No need to pick favorites, as long as it's me
@@PoleBarnGarage ok, you win this time...
New to the channel, but loving it...and must say first video to see ya and one of my top 5 favorite cars! The 70 is my favorite but 71 is very similar! Buddy had one and the room under the hood could fit 2 engines! Lol. Can't say exactly what it is about this style Monte but it's just absolutely sexy to my eyes anywho! Looking forward to watching more of ur content, keep it up!
Wow. Kick ass car ! Great video Dalton and JYD. Keep up the great work
Just one suggestion I didn’t see anybody do it but if you ever pull out our old car out like this, the first thing you should do is take the spark plugs out and shoot a little trans fluid in each one of the spark plugs so then when you do get the starter put in or you start cranking it over, you move it up the cylinders before you actually start You’ll get a little blue phone from burning up the fluid but it’s a whole lot better than starting motor up with no oil at all in the cylinders for almost 10 years
Allways loved first gen Monte Carlo's. Big block makes it sweeter.
congratulations on getting it running and shiny again thanks a lot Kevin for giving somebody a hand to get their old ride running again sometimes they just need a kick in the butt to get them interested once again and were you able to get both sets of points working or did it just run off the one set I have worked on daul point Distributors a lot in the past and they are very difficult to get both sets working
I love Monte Carlos, and the boomer energy is strong with this one. "Built" big block making every bit of 250hp, but probably jumped beer cans back in the day.
Dalton you need a shirt of you asking jd something crazy like, “is that where the severed head was”, and jd says “yep”.
Nice to see it running and driving again! The owner seemed happy to be driving it again! He even smoked the tires!
I had a Mallory dual point distributor in my 74 Chevy 4x4 I hauled wood and farmed with for 6 years and never replaced the points. Rolling burnouts are REAL BURNOUTS
Love this car sounds great or good at Idel but it not quick looking in drive yet for how it sounds !!! Keep Stock keep it going stock
Poor combination of parts. Typical oldhead "needs huge cam" way of thinking.
Dalton!!! Your vids are mint👌! I love the silver dollar Chevy!!!!!
I believe this was my first video of yours to watch. I enjoyed it. The video was full of me going “that’s what she said” in my head. So yeah…subscribed ✅
Sooo cool to see aa guy enjoying his old highschool car again, could twll he was somewhat emotional about seeing it in its glory again
Such a beautiful car , an amazing original paint beauty
Hey guys, great video like always ! For the French fans like me, I just want to say that Monte Carlo is a neighborhood in the town/state of Monaco. If you look on a map it's in France but the city is a state known for his Casino, his nice bay and his formula 1 track in the streets.
"Here we go again"-😂😂😂😂 I envy you car specialists- Lots of fun stuff to get into! Thanks for sharing guys! Good video skills JD!😁 Chris @NNKN had a nice 70s Monte!
New to the video shows. I like it alot. Will be watching more. The old memories. THANKS.
Comment No. 2 after watching the burnout - what a beautiful car. Reminds me so much of my college bf's red Camaro.
Monte Carlos were always underrated, awesome car!
After being opened several times it was fine. You just have to know how to open one of those hoods
Awesome car!!! Great to see the smile on the owners face, I’m sure it brought back some good memories for him. Hopefully he drives it a lil more often now lol. 😂 Great Work Guys!
