- is a link to my website where you can find the recipe for the Lo Mein: mealprepmanual.com/lo-mein/
On my website there are hundreds of meal prep, snack, and macro friendly dessert recipes that I have developed over the years. There are no targeted ads, no pointless life stories and endless scrolling to get to the ingredient list, just the recipes. I have a subscription based model where Gold Members have access to every recipe on the site, which is under $5/month with annual memberships. If that's not your thing, there is also a Silver level membership that is free for life, still ad free, and you get access to more than 40% of the recipes. Registering to become a member, whether that is a Gold or Silver (free) member, is the best way you can help support what I do. I appreciate all of you more than you know 😎
INGREDIENTS
2 lbs (908 g) ground turkey or chicken
¼ lb (113 g) carrots
½ medium (100 g) onion
1 medium (150 g) red pepper
½ lb (227 g) mushrooms
2 cups (120 g) coleslaw mix
1½ cups (45 g) spinach
2 tbsp (30 ml) olive oil
7 oz (200 g) lo mein noodles or pad thai rice noodles for gluten free
FOR THE SAUCE
1½ tbsp (30 g) honey
2⅓ tbsp (35 g) soy sauce
1½ tsp (15 g) sriracha
¾ tbsp (18 g) hoisin sauce
1 tsp (4 g) ground ginger
1½ tbsp (23 g) water
INSTRUCTIONS
FOR THE NOODLES
1. Prepare the noodles according to the instructions on the package.
FOR THE TURKEY/CHICKEN
2. Add some oil to a skillet over medium high heat. Add in the turkey and cook it until it has browned. Season lightly with salt and pepper. Remove from heat.
FOR THE VEGETABLES
3. Wash and prepare all of your vegetables. Cut your red pepper, onion, and mushrooms into thin slices so they cook quickly. Use a vegetable peeler to create ribbons out of your carrots. You'll want to do all of this prep work before you start cooking them, the cooking process goes fast.
4. In a large pot, add some oil and add the onion. Cook for 2-3 minutes or until they have begun to develop color.
5. Add in the coleslaw mix. Stir and cook for a minute or two.
6. Make room in the pot and add the red pepper to the pot. Allow them to develop a bit of color then add in the shredded carrots and stir. Continue to cook until the vegetables have softened.
7. Stir in the spinach and allow it to wilt.
8. For the mushrooms I prefer to cook them separately so they can develop color. If you are feeling lazy you can throw them in at any point of the cooking process. I like to add them to a dry skillet over medium heat, salt them, and cook them until they have browned. Add them to the pot with the other vegetables.
FOR THE LO MEIN
9. Mix all of the sauce ingredients together in a bowl.
10. Drain the water from the noodles and add them to a skillet with the sauce. You just want to toss the noodles with the sauce so they are evenly coated.
11. Add the noodles and turkey to the large pot with the vegetables. Stir to incorporate and season with salt and pepper as needed.
PLATING
12. This recipe makes 5 servings. Divide your ingredients evenly 5 ways.

Bro how is your channel not bigger?! This is perfect and your site is super helpful! Thank you so much!
Thank you, glad you enjoy it 😎
Probably due to dissing vegetables all the time.
@@TheMealPrepManual your videos are awesome, keep posting, you definitely have what it takes to have a large following
Because he doesn’t spam UA-cam with retarded shorts 5 times a day or posts 3 10:01 minute long videos a day
UA-cam algorithm loves shit
It’s because he doesn’t like vegetables.
Finally a channel that is perfect for meal prepping that isn't just broiled chicken breast and actually tastes good. Thanks! Just stumbled on this, fantastic channel and great videos, instant like and subscribe.
This helped me get out of a long funk and actually cook for the first time in ages.
I've never been much of a chef, but your videos make all these dishes seem so approachable. Thanks.
By far the best channel I've ever found that balances nutrition, ease of recipes, and taste. It's hard to get all 3 of those but so far, every recipe I've tried has done it.
Thank you 😎
Made this tonight after binge watching your stuff. It's gonna go into our regular rotation. Great recipe thank you! 😁
I've been making a similar lo mein, but love the idea of adding the coleslaw mix. Definitely gonna try that next time. Great way to add some texture and bulk up the serving size without adding many calories.
You don't know how much this has helped me. Just started meal prepping for being more efficient during exams. This recepie is perfect, super easy to make and delicious.
Thanks so much for all these meals this is my favourite one yet really love them
This looks sooo good!!
Great simple nutritious recipe that I will cook tonight for my wife and I and have extra for a working weekend. Thanks!
Awesome channel, super helpful and right to the point!👍🏼
This came out wonderful! Definitely a great addition to my meal prep list.
This turned out great, definitely will be making it again!
just found you recently. the few videos i've seen so far have all been great. thanks for the content. subbed!
I tried this recipe today and it was a hit with the family. Thanks.
Finally did the meal and also used the rice noodles. The sauce is amazing especially with the ginger and the sriracha! Can highly recommend it, quick and delicious
I watch these videoes to fall asleep because you sound pleasent and ur voice is soothing
I've been freezing most of the recipes I've tried here. I freeze them in the container, pop them out, and then seal them in the Zwilling bags. I can't fit them in the smaller bags, so I add 2 to a larger bag. This way I can spend a little time each day, or a few times a week prepping these meals, stocking the freezer, and having variety throughout the week. These preps are so tasty! Thank you!
Amazing recipes and super simple, but fantastic videos to go with it
Looks awesome as usual! We have been doing your pancit and the sheet pan sausage and peppers… ready to add some more variety. My wife loves the apple oatmeal bake!
I love Asian food and I’m always trynna find lower calorie versions of Asian dishes and I’m so glad I found this
Amazing bro thank you so much for all your content
love your editing just wrapped up your buffalo and potato wedges for this week as my first batch looking forward to following more of your stuff. thanks!
thank you 😎
Love this one. Just made it today.
This looks so good!

Just stumbled upon your channel. I love the short and to-the-point videos without all the ramble! Can't wait to try some of these recipes!
Thank you and welcome 😎
This channel is fantastic
Great work on keeping these videos short and sweet!
thank you 😎
Literally giving exakt weights of seasoning is the best thing ever. Thank you and keep that in the future !
🙌🙌
You really should learn to eyeball that
@hjf4a2 Whats Wrong with you 😂 read closely it says seasoning;)
literally a lifesaver!!
Amazing content. I'll be making a few of these recipes next week. Here's to making my life easier!
Thank you 😎
I LOVE that you offer gluten free recipes btw. Found out recently me and my siblings are allergic to gluten and it's been hard to find food that's enjoyable to replace some staples
Why did I not find this channel sooner! This is going to make life so much easier and the meals look amazing, will be making a few of these tomorrow 👍🏽
Thank you 😎
Was thinking the same thing lol
Just made this, it's delicious
After making this 🤌🏼🤌🏼🤌🏼 , definitely subscribing !
Love your video's. Just found you by accident!!!! Keep up the good work. Just Subscribed!!!
This is the best channel I’ve seen for meal prep. So many diverse options that don’t break the bank or take up your entire afternoon.
"that don't break the bank" EXACTLY. I have bought a couple books and they just aren't really applicable to my lifestyle. Its as if I would be a professional chef. A lot of the ingredients I just wouldn't use again on many other dishes anyway. This guy gives convenient recommendations. His website offers everything for $50 a year which is worth it.
thank you so much 😎
Love this. Excited to have some new variety and it looks delicious
Thank you 😎
Yum! I’m making this next
Just subscribed! I’m in the military and my weight is a big deal and finding meal prep guides and/or ideas is hard. Until tonight when UA-cam put your channel on my recommended! Best meal prep channel ever! Thank you so much!
Thank you for your support 😎
@@TheMealPrepManual my wife and I are really excited to start these!
What were the other recipes in the final four? Love your channel. My go to for meal planning.
The good thing about your channel, is there so much variety you offer. Other meal prep videos are one and done videos, the creator doesn't upload anything else related to the subject.
This channel is a god send
😎😎
Bravo excellent job
fkn love ur youtubes, this is the best channel ever. I'm gonna try that recipe this week 😎💯
I’ve been looking for some more nutrient-dense recipes.
Making this tonight.
Edit: ah yeah, another new staple.
your videos are golden Sir
This is really great. Next time I'll cook the onions, mushrooms, etc. kind of separate to brown them. This is a big recipe and you need a big pan for this
Thank you for the wonderful recipe Josh. You’re underrated af🔥🔥. Just curious about the capacity of the food containers you used so I can calculate the nutrition value of each meal more accurate
One of my favorites!
😎😎😎
Great content. Quick and concise, no filler BS, detailed and in depth! Subbed!
Thank you 😎
Thank you for the mise en place definition. Always wondered what that meant! 🤪
Got yourself a subscriber ,best and most straightforward meal prep I have come across, plus Asian cuisine is my favourite so this video is perfect for me #KudosBro
Thank you 😎
God bless you! I'm glad you said if you don't have coleslaw mix where you live, you can use cabbage. I live in Italy and iys hard to find cilantro, let alone coleslaw mix 😂 good content, keep going!
I just cooked it, and is awesome!!
Thank you, glad you enjoyed 😎
You won my sub! Great channel!
Thank you 🙏
Just made this tonight. It was real good even without using Soy sauce and hosinin sauce. Next time im gonna try with it
Thanks for your videos bro. I mela prep for my sister and I, this will be my 3rd week and I was already running out of ideas to cook! Instant subscribe, keep up the great work!
Meal* wtf lol
🙌🙌
This one definitely had my vote!
😎😎
Awesome meals. Thanks. Are these available on My Fitness Pal?
Fantastic meal! If this finished fourth in the rankings where can I find the videos for 3rd, 2nd and 1st?
Great videos and recipes, can't quite wrap my head around your aversion to vegetables though
Your videos managed to make cooking with vegetables appealing to me again
Thank you 😎
quick and concise. You got a new subscriber, mey friend. Greetings from Brazil!
Obrigado 😎
Rice noodles gluten free, great tip and this looks yum!
Amazing
Thank you 🙏
subbed hope your channel takes off bro you make good content.
Thank you for your support 😎
Just took my first bite a minute ago, absolutely amazing of how good it tastes!💪🏽
How was it 0/10?
@@JesusGomez-dx7pe 8, noodles I used were a bit bland but it was really nice
This looks sublime. I am guessing this is a lunch meal. What else do you prep for the day? How many meals?
Good man.
Man!! I've been looking for some inspiration when it comes to my diet, this came as a gods gift! Looks delicious while beating lean. If you're not a fan of that sugar, I would take half that sugar and replace it with white whine vinegar. If anything, you should add it to almost everything. It gives a more context to all the flavours. Flavours need a little acid to really come alive.
🙌🙌🙌
@hjf4a2 Yes it is, it's acid. But as he states himself, the acid brings something else to the dish that wasn't there before which enhances other flavors.
Sriracha and other types of hot sauces already contain a lot of vinegar. I wouldn’t add anything more than what you already got in that sauce mix.
@@MisterDutch93 Of course! It all depends on what you have and want to get in the end! I'm not a fan of spicy food as food prepps and boxes but you're right.
You are a cooking genius
Whoa maybe not the g word but thank you so much 😎
Anytime
Your videos are So fukin good. Easy to follow and the ingredients aren’t too overly complicated. Simple and effective, THE BEST
Thank you 😎
Do you reuse these containers or use them once and throw them away? Great Content btw, thanks a lot!
Hi Josh. Do you use a dedicated source for your calorie stats? I've tried to calculate the calories on a few of your meals and am way off. (Usually, my total is much lower) Your meal preps have helped me achieve goals while actually enjoying my food. Therefore, when I prep some of my own ideas; I would love if my calorice calc's are in-line with yours. Thus, still achieving said goals. Big thanks
The only criticism I'd level towards this is that that pan is too crowded for a proper stir fry, I'd suggest getting a wok or just using a much larger pan.
Still looks great though and I'll definitely be making this
I just sent this to my little brother. He loves lo meín. He also isn’t a fan of vegetables like you so I’m hoping that this can help him.
hey josh can you please do a video on your methodology of sauce making, the way you laid it out here seems great, I'd love to know more.
I could give you my sauce recipe, but then I'd have to k$ll you, it's my secret sauce 😆
Hey man! I remember you had protein noodles you ordered online in one of your videos, what were they called again? And what was the link?
do you put them on freezer or just the primefresh chill for it to last 5 days?
0:14 what were the other recipes in top 4? I need to see how the tournament unfolded!
Personally, I love the honey garlic chicken and firecracker brussels and beef! These two are my frequent two meals preps that I rely on.
I am picturing comedy shows on TV where a character leaves their carefully labelled foods in the office fridge. Good luck with that recipe hanging around.
Lol
What is the device you cook on?
Amazon link?
French for "get your shit together before throwing it in the pan" *Chef kiss*
Which containers do you use brah
Subbed my dude
Thank you 🙏
How big are the meal prep bowls?
its funny cause in NZ ground chicken is easily found but ground turkey is quite limited lol. none the less recipe looks fire :)
I wish it was that way here!!!
Do you have the measurements for the sauce? I'd love to try to make this!
Where can you buy those black containers for storing the food? I’ve recently stumbled across your channel and wanted to try some of your meal prep recipes. Thanks! :)
I get mine on Amazon
Now I wish you were my French tutor.....
Does the noodle not stick together after reheat?
How much does each serving cost approximately? Might’ve missed it in the video
What do you mean vegetables are never gonna be that good, they're the star of this dish
this shit is so fire
I'm French, and i can confirm the 'mise en place' translation
Hey man, thanks for the videos! Can you freeze most of the meals you make? Thanks!
Yes. I don’t personally freeze any meals though
How do u know individual calories for this meal. I feel like I’m eating way more than 500 calories. But I guess that might be a good thing
Microwave heating hack. Cook a little longer with a reduced power and you won't blow out your mouth with lava. Also, add a little water for steaming purposes. On my microwave I do the following: Cook Time > 3:00 to 4:00 > Power Level > 7 > Start. We're cooking a longer than usual, and turning the power down from 100% to 70%.
0:55 nice cutting
