    For the lazy, I dictated the recipe from this video.
    For yeast starter:
    1 cup milk
    1/2 cup water
    1/4 cup sugar
    1/2 stick butter
    1 egg, 1 egg yolk
    1 packet dry yeast
    For dough:
    4 cups AP flour
    1 1/2 tsp kosher salt
    For egg wash before baking:
    1 egg, beaten
    1 tbsp water
    For finished glaze after baking:
    4 tbsp butter
    2 tbsp honey
    kosher salt to sprinkle
    Heat 1 cup milk, 1/2 cup water, 1/4 cup sugar to 110ºF. Add 1/2 stick butter, melted, to the mixture. Add one beaten egg and an additional egg yolk, whisked, to the mix. Add packet of dry yeast and wait until foamy at the top. If it does not foam, the yeast is not alive. Get new yeast and start over.
    Add 4 cups all-purpose flour and 1.5 tsp kosher salt to stand mixer, mix until incorporated with dough hook. Add yeasty mix to stand mixer, kneading for 5-8 minutes until smooth and elastic and pulling from the sides of the bowl (slightly sticky to the touch).
    Make dough into smooth ball. Let rest in a greased bowl and cover with kitchen towel for an hour or until doubled in size.
    Using three fingers, punch down dough and transfer to floured surface. Sprinkle with flour and knead for a couple of minutes.
    Roll dough into sausage shape by hand. Roll out dough with a rolling pin into a rectangle, approximately 18 inches wide.
    Roll dough into a long, bready joint.
    Cut 15 equal sections of dough to be made into small balls. Pull each dough section into smooth ball shape with folds/seams at the bottom. Add all dough balls, equally spaced out, into a cast iron pan greased with butter or a casserole dish. If there is too much room, the dough will expand to fill in the empty space. Let the dough boys rise for 30 minutes.
    Crack one egg, add one tbsp water, and whisk. Brush tops of dough balls with this.
    Add to 350ºF oven, 25 minutes or golden brown.
    Melt butter and a bit of honey and mix well with a spoon. Brush this mixture on the buns when they come out of the oven. Finally, sprinkle some kosher salt on top of the buns.

    My wife and I just wanted to let you know how much we appreciate everything that you do.
    Your UA-cam channel was recommended to me in the Spring, right about the time we had to start working from home due to the pandemic. As I started watching your videos I started thinking, “This looks easy enough to make. Let’s try it.” The first thing I made was your egg frittata, and it was amazing!
    We look forward to your videos every week. We are able to watch the video during our shared lunch break, and there have been several occasions where we are making your newest video for dinner.
    So far we have made your egg frittata, steak sandwiches, meatballs (on the smoker - amazing!), chicken pot pie, garlic knots, the garlic bread stuffed crust pizza, the one pan chicken mexican skillet dinner, the mcrib, the candied bacon, the burger with onion tanglers, and cilantro lime rice.
    We recently took delivery of your newest cookbook and your entire knife collection. We tried the knives the other night and they are amazing. We absolutely adore them.
    Due to all the cooking it is a constant struggle to keep my kitchen clean, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. I’ve used my kitchen more in the last few months because I’m making your recipes than I have in years. I just wish I had a bigger kitchen so I could have more room to make your delicious recipes.

    AAAH-MAZING! Hands down! 🙌🏼❤️🔥
    Made them in the stand mixer with Bread Flour instead, Rapid Rise Instant Yeast, so all dry ingredients in and no waiting for the yeast, made all wet ingredients warm, mixed, rested for 10mins, rolled into 15 balls in the cast iron casserole pan, let it rise per final rise instructions and turned out phenomenal! This is my new “go-to” dinner roll recipe…

    I want to share a very special story after making these rolls. I had no idea these were called “Parker” rolls. My grandmother made these for every Sunday dinner. I would eat them till it made me sick when I was a young boy. She passed away when I was 10 along with her recipe. I am 32 now. We found a similar recipe recently a relative tried to write down when she made them but it never quite got to the same taste. I have tried for the last few years to recreate them and they were pretty close but not the same. It did the job till I made this recipe today! This is the closest thing I tasted in 22 YEARS!! You have changed my life and my holiday baking for our family FOREVER!! It brought a tear to my eye today when I tasted these today. I have been watching this channel for a couple years and it blew my mind when I seen you upload this recipe. I told my wife that looks just like grandmas rolls! I cannot thank you enough for this and it means soooo much to me you will never know! Sorry for the long story but you are the man I will always be so grateful for this recipe and your videos!!       How did yours turn out? I tried making them following his exact recipe and the dough didn’t form until I added more milk.

    UPDATE: Jan. 5, 2023. I now make this recipe once a week! I slice one bun into four to use as sandwich bread. I only buy hotdog buns for hotdogs, otherwise, I don't buy bread anymore. Thank you, again, for such a wonderful recipe.
    Eight months ago..."Homemade dinner rolls so soft & buttery you'll want to smash & rub them in the face!"🤣 I just have to thank you for this wonderful recipe! Although it took longer for my dough to almost look like yours, they were so AWESOME! I thought the 1/4 of sugar would make it sweet, but you can't taste sugar, at all. That texture is something I've been seeking for a few years, now; testing various recipes. YOURS IS THE BEST! So grateful Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!🙏🏿

    Sam, there is a very easy way to “pinch” the dough that gets the smooth top for your rolls. From the dough ball , scoop 2 fingers from the bottom and pinch it off with the thumb and index finger of the opposite hand. It’s super quick and gives you that smooth top you want.
