The stats are relative to their own games. That’s why Malenia absolutely smoked Maria with original stats. To like an absurd degree.
I feel like Elden Ring might have pushed too much towards the "RPG stats" part of the combat that it leads to situations like this as a consequence. Souls games usually balanced out the numbers well where pure skill will still make a lot of progress, but ER feels like the opposite philosophy of Sekiro where stats have a big impact.
It has to be, due to all the items and things that are available, or without this “buff” the game would be to easy. In short fromsoft takes spirit ashes as well as buffs into consideration, then makes the boss appropriately

@@Olav_Hansen If we are being fair the only reason Soul Of Cinder lost to Radhan is bad AI. The lightning attacks barely do any damage. it would have took 1 actual sword swing to kill Radhan.
@Olav_Hansen No that makes him an AI designed to fight a player not a boss. It wasn't a coin flip either. He gets off 3 useless attacks before he was killed by Radhan. Thats not a coin flip that just stupid. Its not 50/50 its, hey let me keep doing something useless until I die!
The Morgott fight is made even better when you take in the dialogue. The Soul of Cinder has everything to do with the curse that plagues the world of Dark Souls and Morgott's dialogue about a curse upon the thrones oddly fits out of context. And of course, that dramatic ending following it is just perf.
its so interesting watching this and realizing how many more attack openings the soul of cinder gives you than almost any of the elden ring bosses like the elden ring bosses dont actually back off very often, whereas the soul of cinder will sometimes just stop and walk around i guess because elden ring gives you the option of spirit ash to distract the boss
Considering that the Soul of Cinder its an amalgam of all of our characters in the Dark Souls trilogy, essentially its like WE were fighting with the Lords of another world. Feels good to see it that way
My favorite thing about ds3 bosses is they are hard because of moveset difficulty, and not about crazy damage. You can see that in this video, where he only does 100-500 damage while the elden ring bosses do 1-2k
Thank you for bringing this up, this is my biggest gripe with the game. It has become more mainstream, and with that some of what made the soulsbourne games what they are. A mid level boss in Elden Ring( Shade Godfrey ) can take out Dark Souls 3's final boss. Heck, even freaking GIDEON can kill him. This is why Elden Ring ranks low on my soulsbourne list.
Elden ring is my fourth favorite game, so mid tier in the fromsoft games, but I think ds3, bloodborne and ds2 did things better. I prefer the bosses of ds3 as well as the areas and soundtrack. I mean SoC would need a big health and damage buff on top of the area scaling to do anything if you tune down the only advantage DS3 bosses have over Elden Ring's. Poise values were just a lot higher in that game.
Rooting on Cinder the whole time, but I just knew some fights he literally had no chance of winning. You should definitely get Orenstine and Smough to fight the Godskin Duo

Watching the Soul of Conder and Radahn both gear up for their respective second phases simultaneously is one of the most metal things I’ve ever witnessed.
All DS3 bosses have on average a lot more poise and poise damage than ER's, because the poise numbers were just higher. Yhorm's head is his weakspot and yet it has more poise than Radahn, who has the highest in ER before modifiers, his legs have almost 8 times as much. Not arguing that it is fair or fun to watch, but that's why you see those ridiculous staggers.
@@majster7072 Yeah replaying DS3 made me remember how hard it was to poise break most bosses, even if trying to pretend its ER with charged R2s (almost never actually worth it in DS3). Milenia doesn't need to transform to her naked self to dispatch him. The Godskin Duo tricked him into thinking he won, and then just backstabbed him to victory. The Fire Giant turned him into a regular tarnished telling Soul of Cinder " fight the other lesser bosses or travel a bit more before facing me again boy." The Dragon lord cheesed him at the end. we need to find a standard to scale DS3 bosses to so they can be on ER's level, maybe find all the weapons both games share, compare their stats, and find the average changes in percents, and then boost all the bosses stats by roughly that percent value for when we add DS3 bosses to ER
Why were they scaled so weirdly? The early bosses were scaled to match him and then the endgame bosses were taking out half his healthbar with a single hit.

This is a really interesting litmus test of power. Radahn and Morgott both are basically equivalent in power to SoC. Endgame DS3 is equivalent to midgame Elden Ring.
It's arguable considering he defeated the endgame bosses in rad and the elden beast and moreso is maliketh, the one being that can literally kill anyone, even malenia.
@@dudeman7826 yes but the damage remain the same the only thing that increase in him is his health because even is thunder and magics are useless heck he can't even do the things that melania and malikit can do and even then he was still out much in terms of aoe and hacks and on millennia it was already decided anyway considering she is one of if not most hardest bosses in from soft games history

It was a strange feeling of pride, and nostalgia, seeing poor Gideon get rocked by an old friend.
Nah.
It's the air juggle that gets me.
Yeah but it takes him soooooo long to come out of the animation when he goes to second phase and he doesn't switch he weapons that often as he used to in ds3
Soul of cinder is a heart wrenching character. A fusion of souls from every unded who linked za 1st flame. Sounds like most anime mc
Not only that but everyone else as well, even Miyazaki confirmed in an interview that solaire did link the fire in his world so this as well applies to bosses like gundyr who was suppose to link the fire but he was too late and pretty much anyone else if they want to.
And if some fails, they can again link the fire or chose not to like friede, an unkindled along with anri, Horace and more.
Wdym? Most anime Mc’s are dark hair teenagers with the same haircut.

I loved how tactically Elden Beast was behaving: escaping into the air right as the Soul was prepping Power Within, keeping its distance during the Phase transition to avoid the immediate combo, just generally dancing around his single projectiles (until the end, at least). Great stuff!
The eventual Gehrman vid is gonna be so awe-inspiring, I can feel it already...
elden beast just always runs like that no matter what
Something about seeing soul of cinder in elden ring makes me incredibly happy.
I expect him to be at about radahn level of strength

Bro's getting flamed for a couple of these, but that Morgott fight and the Radagon fight was just stellar
This is how I imagine if the frenzied flame were a boss trying to take over would look like
The Morgott fight is made even better when you take in the dialogue. The Soul of Cinder has everything to do with the curse that plagues the world of Dark Souls and Morgott's dialogue about a curse upon the thrones oddly fits out of context. And of course, that dramatic ending following it is just perf.
its so interesting watching this and realizing how many more attack openings the soul of cinder gives you than almost any of the elden ring bosses
like the elden ring bosses dont actually back off very often, whereas the soul of cinder will sometimes just stop and walk around
i guess because elden ring gives you the option of spirit ash to distract the boss
Considering that the Soul of Cinder its an amalgam of all of our characters in the Dark Souls trilogy, essentially its like WE were fighting with the Lords of another world. Feels good to see it that way
Champion Gundyr with his aggressive nature and forward momentum moveset once properly upscaled seems like awesome fit for Elden Ring
It would be so awesome to see Dark Souls 1&3 really go to war with Elden Ring
What about dark souls 2?
Yea I mean dark souls 2 would gang to death elden ring, and no one could avoid them😂
There are a few ds2 bosses I'd like to see as well like sir alonne fume knight veldstadt sihn etc
You'd need to scale up the DS side a lot, ER has near universally higher stats.
And add Bloodborne and Sekiro.
Godfrey is such a unit he makes SOC look like a normal, maybe somewhat taller human.
Maliketh and Elden beast were pretty unexpected
They were BS
I prefer the aesthetic of bloodborne, and the beautiful world and unique story of ds2, along with the dlcs and build variety. Elden ring offers all of that but not as good as the others.@@DankSlayer_Ornstien

@@baddogkelevra1 yea, I hopped into the premiere for a bit earlier. SoC's poise damage is still absolutely wonk, but he's at the same time far too fragile and does no damage.
Honestly really disappointed. I'm sure there was a lot of work involved to make this happen, but the end result kinda blows due to the baffling balancing decisions
Poor Maliketh was cheated out of his win.
Soul of Cinder beating Radagon and the Elden Beast was excellent.
TBF, he would have lost if it was treated as one fight and his health wasn't restored.
By Gwyn the SoC is pretty in this. Lovely visuals on everything with it, the flames, the magic, it’s all pretty.
Its funny thinking how easily soul folded godrick as if to say "you call yourself a lord do you? How come you never linked the flame?"
What a treat, thank you for making this true. Godfrey dunkining Cindy was a thing i didn't know i was looking for. :D
Seeing SoC go into second phase while covered in death flame against malikath is so cool
The way y’all transitioned to placidusax after Gideon’s fight was extraordinary. Then seeing placi face off with SOC really showed gideons words truth
Bro straight up marched through Godricks fire Sweep like, "I am the living incarnation of the first Flame and those who lit it and you wanna try to BURN me?"
Watching the Soul of Conder and Radahn both gear up for their respective second phases simultaneously is one of the most metal things I’ve ever witnessed.
What a savage bro! SoC is one my favorite bosses on concept alone.
Imagine the bosses looking at Soul of Cinder and being like "wtf Is that the frenzied flame in human form?"
My main issue here is that SoC is doing waaaay too much posture damage, more than even Godfrey or Maliketh.
Bosses in Elden Ring seem to be generally more powerful, so it kinda works as a balancing feature
@@majster7072 Yeah replaying DS3 made me remember how hard it was to poise break most bosses, even if trying to pretend its ER with charged R2s (almost never actually worth it in DS3). But with their lower HP one or two per fight was usually GG. ER has such bloated HP values that without status effects, stance break spam, or a lot of buffs (my favorite method) boss kills are noticeably slower.

14:19 NAAAAAAAH bro SoC kicking Maliketh was pure disrespect lmaoooo he was like "Just die already you fucking mutt"
I got 3 compelling matches, the one with Margott was amazing they both died together, how Radahn outmaneuvered him at the end was great, and wow Gideon fighting above his capabilities, matching Soul of cinder in Magic forcing a draw. Godfrey projection bodied him, the real Godfrey outmuscled him and when Godfrey turned into "The Legendary Super Tarnished " Daddy Loux, he Powerbombed City the hell out of Soul of Cinder. I was expecting him to beat the drag queen named Radagon, but I didn't expect him to beat both Malaketh and the Dildo Beast.... sorry I mean the Elden beast. Great stuff, I was shouting " Sir Gideon Ofnir the all knowing " on the Gideon fight, and I was Shouting take him to Powerbomb city Daddy Loux on that match. I hope Friede, Gael, and the Nameless King would churn out better results next time.
Yeah, on Godfrey though it is entertaining that he managed to pushed him further into his second phase meaning he was trying this time, the only problem he has is that er bosses has more health bars than his first and second combined.
@@tc-channelhobby4051 Yeah SOC tried very hard on that match and was super aggressive, I saw him striking non stop not like when he fought the other bosses where he pauses for a second, but yeah unfortunately the "Legendary Super Tarnished" Daddy Loux fought him like a madman like how Brolly when he gets crazy.

Yeah, the Fire Giant vs Yhorm would be great, the unstoppable force againts the Unstoppable Force, the Immovable object vs the Immovable object. but you know what? a tarnished or a Chosen Undead would have an easier time with Yhorm than the Fire Giant. Now Rykard vs Yhorm would be great too, Gimmick boss vs Gimmick boss fight. Lol

I swear sould of cinder has way more attacks than we see in here? I remember him using miracles and magic a lot more...
we need to find a standard to scale DS3 bosses to so they can be on ER's level, maybe find all the weapons both games share, compare their stats, and find the average changes in percents, and then boost all the bosses stats by roughly that percent value for when we add DS3 bosses to ER
It's a bit funny how _slow_ Soul of Cinder looks compared to some of the ER bosses.
Why were they scaled so weirdly? The early bosses were scaled to match him and then the endgame bosses were taking out half his healthbar with a single hit.
Being a DS3 boss has some benefits in ER. Even with less hp, they deal a lot more poise damage

It’s because ER enemies have much higher numbers. But really this applies to the whole game. A 700 AR Claymore in ER is not the same as a 700 AR claymore in DS3.
