The first time I saw PMG was "First Circle" concert in ATX 1986. The show absolutely changed my life, the musicianship of these people is extraordinary. First Circle (the single track) I believe to be the crowing achievement of this band! Me Encanta
You are absolutely right. I have been always used to listen to jazz music since my youth, the classics, the Dorsey brothers, Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, Stan Getz and so on. I discovered Fusion jazz and PMG in 1986 and this changed my life in the meaning of music perception forever. First circle is not only one of the masterpieces of this group, with a overwhelming and mesmerizing 22/8 beat, but also one of the most prominent piece of art in the whole genre. I had the privilege of witnessing a live concert of this group two times, in Jesi and Rome (Italy), and was able to shake Pat Metheny's hand personally and exchange some thoughts with him. A wonderful and absolutely humble person. I feel blessed for this.
@@qonos68 Yes, it is amazing to see Pat and PMG both. If you're guitar player, I don't don't know if goes any higher than Pat Metheny and not only talking about Jazz- his mastery of the guitar is totally insane. I met him also in ATX for his Orchestrion show and he is a very humble and down to earth person. A cherished memory for me :)

I love how it gets quiet and the audience applauds, but it's only halfway along. So good. PM's masterpiece.
Me la ricordo, quella puntata! ♥

Ma che programma spettacolare era questo DOC...
I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE THIS!

Why is the camera not on Lyle Mays from the 6:45 - 7:20 mark? This symphonic/orchestral bridge is his work!
Absolutely Stunning 😍 Thanks so much for uploading this
back when Pat had one other sweater....
never losing his cool as he fumbles/drops several picks at the end
Wow!
where's the time stamp?
Lyle is missed.
