Nice job! I had my Hawk for a year and a half. I love tinkering with it. My favorite mod I have done so far is porting and decking the head. It really comes alive after that! It's like having a new bike again. I also installed a Nibbi carburator and intake . I am roughly 10:1 compression now. Keep up the good work!
Yes I agree ... Nibbi has been the go to for many... It does not have an accelerator pump... I have wondered why the Nibbi has been so popular for this application ?
Just wanted to let you know this video helped with my Hawk250 digital cluster install. I had the cluster sitting around for almost a year, and now that it's in I don't know how I lived without it! Thank you!
Yes but I had to change a setting. Th number of magnet sensors or something like that.... That being said the unit has a slow parasitic draw from it and kills my battery over a month or so.... Also the tachometer though it does work is slow and not very accurate... So for the money imho it best just to get an external tachometer off of the am zons
Hey I have a few questions about the wiring hook up. Do I need to splice the blue and white wire with the purple one? Also when I plug my digital speedometer into the plug ins it won't even light up
Is there a single pink wire underneath the headlamp in the bundle it’s by itself mine was disconnected. I reconnected it never did figure out what it operated but I was curious if yours was like that it’s pretty easy to find like I said it’s a single pink wire that just plugs into itself male female.
so i pulled everything off to install and the plug ins are un use and im so confused every video i have watched its suppose to not be in use and know i dont know what to do and suggestions?
I bought RPS HaoSen Hawk 230cc in 2021-2022. Then I saw the pink wire was disconnect to the pink wire inside the headlight black bucket. So whether it's disconnect or connect it made no differences to me. Should it be connected? Thank you.
My plugs have only 4 wires plugs and 2 separate wires which I think one is for the tachometer but I don't know which color is what gear. The color match up didn't work for my 2015 rsp hawk.
Were did you find the white plastics for the Hawk? Ive never seen it in white. My Hawk just hit 1K miles. Loving it so far. Still working some of the bugs out
I just installed one of those on a tao tbr7, all of the gear indicators are working but not the neutral and the tach. Do you have any idea what it can be???
Hello there, I installed one of those displays on a tao tbr7, but it's reading double the speed and it switches back to kph when you turn off the bike. Any ideas and do you have links for the parts you bought
GREAT tutorial. I just don't get taking the tank off. u could've just fished the wiring underneath. mine has plenty room. then again maybe it's the year. thanks!
@@JackofAllMasterofNone yeah but it's harder when the tank is full. Lol. I need to watch your vid on the tank gas float device. Your right this speedometer doesn't recognize the accurate fuel level. Thanks for your tutorial sir
It is compatible but may require some wiring changes. Not certain. But they make a specific one for the TBR7 amzn.to/2HWurE8 It doesnt look as good in my opinion.
After having the Hawk for awhile... would you recommend it over buying a 15-20 yr old Japanese bike? I've been watching videos... really liked the one you did on painting plastics. Would love to hear your thoughts...
I love my Hawk but is it better than a Japanese bike? No, it's not. But it's on par with one now that it has been upgraded. Everything on the Hawk is cheap crap that slowly has to be replaced. Every switch, harness, lever, etc. Is made poorly. Luckily most parts are clones of Japanese parts and can be replaced with the real deal.
Just got a new instrument cluster from txpowersports for my 2017 hawk 250. No instructions. The wire colors are not even close. It came with 3 plastic connectors. One is for the speed sensor. The other two don’t match up with anything. Can you guide me with the wiring?
@@JackofAllMasterofNone Thanks for replying. It looks just like the one you have except the wire colors are all different. is there a way I can send you a pic?

after reading over the reviews on that digital thing there are mixed reviews about it some say it's not worth it and some of the stuff on it does not work and some say you get what you pay for and it's okay for the value.. but in your own opinion in the time you have been using it how has it been?
Everything works perfect and has since day one. I'm sure those reviews were from people who hooked it up wrong and didn't have a clue what they were doing
I put this setup on mine and the only 2 issues I've had with it are that the fuel gauge reads empty at about 1/2 a tank and something in the rev counter came apart and now there's a little brass piece that flies around in there
@@joshuadealmeida4979 so, I took off the seat to see the sensor leading from the gas tank, and I just tightened the connector up by all the plugs by the speedometer cables. Just make sure the colors are lined up and it started working
I think I’m going to get one of these digital gauges.. i have two questions: can you turn off the blue backlight for the lcd screen? And Is the MPH reading fairly accurate? I have the stock gauge on my bike and it works fine, but I assume the digital gauge would be more accurate and reliable.. many thanks in advance!
No you can not turn off the backlight but you wouldnt want to anyway. You wouldnt be able to read it. It is a very nice, high quality display actually. Also, its very accurate if you set it correctly. You will want to actually set it for a 19" wheel if you have the stock 21" hawk wheel and its dead on
Press and hold the odometer button as your turn ignition key on and a number will flash on the screen. Press the button to select the correct wheel size and then let go of the button

Does anyone know hot to change the speedometer from kph to mph?

My only question is how do you get it to match the mileage?
You dont. No way to change it
Do I do anything with the white and blue wire and the purple one or do I just leave those alone
