    If you have any problems sourcing parts , I have a Tao tbr7 , and it shares most parts and upgrades with the Hawk , you can go to the Tao parts site , a little rough but the parts arrive within 4 weeks all the time. Also you can source from the CSC website , they sell a sister byke.

    I wish somebody would post a tutorial on how to do an emissions delete on one of the 250cc chinabikes.

    • @goodolboys713
      @goodolboys713  4 роки тому +1

      Luckily I don’t have emissions other than the catalytic converter, it’s easy to delete, all you do is busy it out. The only other emissions Iv seen on these bikes is a charcoal canister for the fuel hose. The charcoal canister is harder to delete but doable. If I ever delete my cat I’ll make a video. Thanks for watching!

    Do they sell chains by the link? It looked like you need a vice grip and grinder, tools I don’t have.
    Also, something cool I can’t find anywhere.. I’d love to see you dyno test your Hawk. The power band isn’t obvious in the bike.

    • @goodolboys713
      @goodolboys713  3 роки тому +1

      Unfortunately they don’t sell chains down to the link, you can however find chains in several different lengths, you may find one that works for you out of the box. In my experience I have always had to shorten dirt bike chains in most cases. You may try going onto China riders and see if they have specific info on sprockets and chain lengths. I would love to dyno test the hawk! Maybe some day! IMO the hawk has a powerband like any older typical 4 stroke, nothing too exciting lol. Thanks for watching!

    I have a chain breaker. Your way looks easier. I actually have some jets, as well as a 17F, and a 45R for my HAWK that got stollen. I never got a chance to put em on☹️ In other news the weirdest thing happened to me the other day. I sat down $1400 and turned around for like 2 seconds. GONE! WTF? In its place ... an email letting me know my new HAWK has shipped.

    I just tried to install the 17/45 gear set on my Hawk. The 45 is fine on the chain but the 17 does not match up. I have the factory chain on it. Also it seems if I adjust the slack adjusters to the indicators and make it equal the knobby is touching the chain .... Any advise you have would help me greatly. Thank you .
    Also great video....

    • @goodolboys713
      @goodolboys713  3 роки тому

      Yes the joys of changing things up on the hawk😂 I’d have to know more about the 17 tooth sprocket. What do you mean it won’t match up? Chain doesn’t fit? Doesn’t fit on the engine cog? Ect. The hawk is known for the chain rubbing the tire, simply adjust the wheel away from the chain within reason (the tire will pretty much always do some rubbing with the chain. even if the chain and tire are an inch apart, the chain will get into the tire every once in a while) The rear tire is impossible to align perfectly straight with the bike, unfortunately it’s just a fact of life with the hawk. Hopefully all this helps, let me know more about the 17t sprocket and we’ll figure something out. Thanks for watching!

    I’m having trouble seating the master link together. You make it look easy with pliers. Mine goes together but won’t snap into place and stay there. Any suggestions

    • @goodolboys713
      @goodolboys713  2 роки тому +1

      I understand your pain, those can be a bear. So normally I use 2 sets of needle nose pliers, one set to squeeze the orings and master link together and one set to slide in and snap in the master link keeper. Most of the time when you can’t get the keeper to snap into place, either 1 the o rings are not squeezed enough (not allowing the keeper to snap in place) or 2 the keeper can just flat out be hard to snap into place (it’s all about the technique, watch the video closely and memetic the exact position that my pliers are in as well as every other aspect of my technique) hopefully this helps you out! If you have any other questions, feel free to ask. thanks for watching!

    I have a 2020 dong fang DF250RTE the motor is slightly different and with the 17 tooth sprocket the chain binds against the where the cover bolts to the engine I can’t find nothing online about the bike bought it used and the chain doesn’t even fit in the sprockets snug bought both sprockets from JT Any idea on what I can do

    • @goodolboys713
      @goodolboys713  Рік тому

      My first suggestion is to see if you can run it without a cover. If not unfortunately there’s not too many other options. One thing you can do is run a smaller front sprocket (16 tooth if it will fit) and a lower rear sprocket like a 39 or 40 tooth. (I am Assuming you want a higher cruising because your trying to run that 17 tooth sprocket on it)

  • @danielbronstein4592

    Do you believe it's a good idea to switch the chain and sprockets to a more reliable version before even riding the bike. Since the stock hawk chain and sprockets are questionable at best?

    • @goodolboys713
      @goodolboys713  4 роки тому +1

      I would 100% recommend changing out the chain, my original chain broke at 375 miles and almost took the engine case with it. So yes change the chain immediately lol. The sprockets are totally fine if your off-roading, if you are going to be on the road you definitely need some more road friendly sprockets. This video will help you a ton on which gearing to go with on your hawk: ua-cam.com/video/XKCC3suCjGQ/v-deo.html thanks for watching!

    Man I use this chain on my dlx and in fourth gear it clips the case and jerk’s the bike around idk if I need to remove something but yea think I’m going to try a 415 pitch chain if possible do you think that will be ok?

  • @swayiglesias

    Will those sprocket bolts stay in there? Will they not come out due to vibration?

    • @jaykoerner
      @jaykoerner 2 роки тому +1

      the sprocket bolts physically can't come out if the snap rings in place, they don't even secure the sprocket to the wheel, they just transfer power from the sprocket to the wheel through the bushings, the only thing holding the sprocket onto the wheel is the snap ring, even if the nut came loose and fell off since the sprockets held in place the pin can't come out either,
      if you're talking about the front spocket bolts, yeah technically but you have to lose both for anything to really happen

    Did the chain fit in between the motor and the sprocket okay because I have the gold x ring chain they sell on amazon and it is too tight of a fit

    • @goodolboys713
      @goodolboys713  3 роки тому +1

      Mine fit perfectly, however I did not have the chain cover on. The stock chain broke at 375 miles, and totaled my front chain cover. So I don’t have one, and I don’t run one LOL. The chain definitely seems to fit better without the cover. Hopefully this helps!

      @@goodolboys713 thank you man yeah that gold niche chain on Amazon is too wide for some reason it won't fit between the motor and the gear so I'll just order the chain you have but their both x ring chains so you would think they would be the same but I guess not

    • @goodolboys713
      @goodolboys713  3 роки тому +1

      @@ryanrott5917 I have heard of flipping the sprocket, the retaining ring that the two bolts go through is put on the back side of the sprocket, then you have to install the bolts from the back side. As you can see in this video there is plenty of room between my engine and the chain, certain chains just won’t fit, however recently I bought a gold x-ring chain that fits good in this video . (And it was off of Amazon). There is a link in the description box of this video to the x-ring chain, which like I said fit with no issues, if your looking for a gold x-ring chain that fits, check out that description box. Hope this helps, thanks for watching!
