@@basecampchris Hey Chris Fellow MN’n! I strongly believe you have nothing to worry about when it comes to the Forest People. They without a doubt know who you are. This based on the fact they seem to know who talks about them or tells stories about them. And they appreciate when people educate others about them. You ask well how?! Well they out class us by miles in every way. They have abilities we don’t have or don’t have anymore dependent upon what you believe. So you have nothing to fear with them!

Many years ago when I was a teenager my parents rented a cabin on the west shore of Lake Tahoe that was way up on the side of a mountain. It was the last cabin on a dead end road and up against the wilderness. My parents and aunt and uncle went out to dinner one night leaving me, my sister, two friends and cousin at the cabin. The oldest of us was 17. We were playing cards at the dining room table which was situated right along a wall of sliding glass doors that went out onto a deck that ran along the side and back of the cabin. It was dark out so all the curtains were drawn shut. All of a sudden there was a very loud sound on the deck along the side where we were sitting at the table. It shook the cabin and I could see and hear whatever it was cause windows to rattle that were up higher and not covered. My cousin was sitting with her back to the sliding glass doors and her reaction was to jump up and over the table to get away from those glass doors because whatever it was gave us all the impression that it was going to come crashing through the glass doors. We all grabbed something to use for our defense like a cast iron frying pan, poker stick from the fireplace, etc. All of which seemed like they would have been so inadequate based on the sound we heard but that was all we had 😆 We then all ran to a back room and barricaded ourselves there for about 3 hours until all the adults returned. We must have looked ridiculous all huddled together frightened as hell. When we told them what happened one explanation was it must have been a sonic boom. We were adamant that what we all experienced was something VERY large that jumped onto the deck. The deck was two stories up with the only access to it from inside the cabin. There were no trees next to the deck close enough for someone to jump from. My Dad and Uncle went out onto the deck to investigate and found a very heavy section of a tree trunk on the deck which they both together had a very hard time lifting up and over the railing of the deck in order to get rid of it. After watching two strong men struggling to get that stump off the deck there is no way two strong men could've thrown that stump up onto a deck two stories up. We were asked why we didn't call police but honestly one of our first reactions was to run and hide. Once we did that we realized we should have called the police first but by the time we came to our senses we were all barricaded in the back room and nobody wanted to go back out to where the only phone in the house was. It was terrifying.

My Dad had a weird experience back in the 1970's. We had a huge cattle farm in the Gold Coast hinterland (Queensland Australia). The south east tip of Mt Tamborine and Mt Nathan were in our property. Dad went out one day to check the fences on Mt Tamborine because some of our cattle had been going missing. He went by himself on horseback and took one of the cattle dogs. Half way up the mountain he said everything went quiet and he smelt a foul smell that was a combination of old sour soil and a dead animal. The dog stopped and started growling and the horse started to rear up on him. Dad knew something was wrong and he felt like he was being watched. The dog turned and started to run back down the mountain....those dogs don't scare easily and he said it looked terrified when it took off. The horse was trying to do the same thing and was trying hard to get dad off its back so she could run faster. Dad let the horse turn around and they both bolted back down the mountain. He didn't see anything but he knew something was there and it wasn't friendly. After that he never went out on horseback by himself again and never let any of his workers go up into that back country. He had a chat to some military guys that were from an army training camp on the otherside of the mountain (Canungra) about 20km away and asked if they had ever had weird experiences too. He never told us what they said but they all agreed that 'something' was on the mountain. You often used to feel like you were being watched on that farm. Once the internet had been developed 30-40 years later, I was looking into for Dad. Apparently the mountain was a hot spot for Yowie sightings - they are the Australian Bigfoots. Never saw one but we did hear some of those strange howls late at night. It wasn't dingo's or foxes or any other animal we knew existed. Often wonder if the people living in the houses that have been built there now ever experience anything odd....bet they do!

I've spent a lifetime bowhunting and I've hear a grey fox bark on one occasion. It scared the crap out of me. Loudest coughing bark I've ever heard. It was getting dark., and I scampered right back up in my tree. Barking got closer until I saw this little 10 lb fox walking by in the corn. Could not believe a little critter like that could sound that scary.

Hey Chris I'm a 63 year old Canadian male from Ontario. In 1989 my dad, brother with his friend and I went moose hunting in northern Ontario just south of Hearst Ontario we were there for two weeks in bush Camping. One night the timber wolfs where right on the hill behind our camp they were howling real close to us but I heard a sound mixed in with the howls sounded more like a loud yell in a real low tone it was strange to hear. The howling stopped awhile later and the bush went dead silence we all went to bed in the tents about an hour later I heard these loud cracking sounds up where the wolfs were. The next day I went up the hill to see signs of what went on the night before and found a half dozen trees snapped about 6 feet from the ground I believe it may have been a bigfoot but didn't find any tracks it left me a little shaken. Needless to say I had a hard time sleeping the rest of the hunt.

I can understand how sounds can creep you out. My grandson and I think that bigfoot are real. We wonder if there are some that come by the forest in his backyard. We saw interesting tree breaks and twisted trees, and an apple we left out on a stump disappeared. Plus, there had been a bigfoot sighting on the island where he lives. Maybe we just have big imaginations. But anyways one day, we were standing near a pond in the back forest, and suddenly there was a strange noise which sounded like a vocalization. It was not loud, but it was a sound neither of us had ever heard before. We both took off like a shot and crashed through the thick forest, trying to get away from the sound. We did not want to go back on the trail towards the sound. My grandson got through the bush quickly, but it took me so long that the bigfoot (if that's what it was) could have easily caught me. Or at least it could have had a good laugh. But to hear a roar or scream would be incredibly frightening.

I had an experience one time that I can’t explain. Me, and a friend of mine went camping along a river in my state. The area was a primitive camping only area. You had to hike back along the river quite a ways to get to it, and it was very secluded and surrounded by state game lands and a state park. We’re talking thousands of acres. So we were camping and had our tent set up and had a nice little fire gone. It’s soon got real dark and we camped up in the woods away from the river. It was pitch black out with the exception of our fire and all of a sudden something was running around in the darkness circling us. At first I thought it was a something like a rodent just running circles around us. It wasn’t a heavy sound, but it definitely made a lot of noise running through the leaves that were on the ground dried up. At first it didn’t bother us because we thought it was some small animal but it just wouldn’t go away and it was definitely circling us just out of view. We even walked out to see if we could get a look at it, but never could. It stayed with us quite a while and then finally it got quiet and I think we were both pretty freaked out though we wouldn’t admit it. We just got in the tent, zippered up the door and went to sleep, and nothing else happened. I’ll just never forget that experience and the chills that it gave us. This happened over 30 years ago when I was younger. We never talked about it too much other than probably the next morning. I never told anybody else about it, but I’ve never forgotten it.

The vegetation is so thick on the sides of the road, you cant see 3 feet into the trees. Some of us kids were used to the paralleling, some were scared. I had the idea they were chaperoning us kids. Protecting us. Theyd follow us for miles, never letting us see them. I lived in western washington. This was common then. In the 70's.

Chris are you sure the noise you heard wasn’t Bigfoot wanting to share a beer with you? That tree you are sitting in front of is enormous. How tall was it.

Speaking of hearing an unknown gibberish being spoken reminded me of a story. Around
27ish years ago my best friend moved down past and south of Atlanta to a rural area. She and her husband built a house which was down off a two lane road with nothing but thick woods behind them. It was pitch black at night. I began dating her neighbor who had built a house there also. He told me of sometimes hearing at night what sounded like a woman and a child talking in a language he could not understand but what he thought was a Native American language. Around the same time my friend had told me her toddler was seeing someone in the house. In a toddler’s best description she would describe the woman as the brown lady. The way she described her, the things she said, my friend thought it was a Native American woman. I don’t know whatever happened. My friend soon moved back to Tennessee and the neighbor still lives in the same house but I have not spoken to him in years. He did not discuss this in front of her toddler so she was not repeating a story. Besides, he was only hearing them while she was seeing someone.

Durring a summer around 2010, I heard that exact same bell-curve sound in the Colville National Forrest, Northeast Washington... We heard the sound multiple times in one night, three adults staying in a hunting cabin that's rented out for summer camping. I've never heard a noise like that in my life and I spent several years living and hiking in forested areas near this location.

Unexplainable sounds in the forest are usually not very welcoming at all. I had written previously about an event I experienced some 45 years ago, but I won't go through all that again. However, one late night/early morning i heard a sound coming from somewhere below me on a mountain in northern Colorado. At the time I could only put it in a category of sounds i was familiar with. This was before bigfoot/sasquatch sounds and actions were as documented as today. I categorized the sound as several barking mule deer. Except it was way louder and much longer than I had ever heard before. It was very guttural and I want to say defensive for some reason. I had deer on my mind because the reason I was out on this mountain side so late in the first place is because I had just slid sideways on this icy road avoiding a group of deer that had come flying out of the trees, across the road and straight up the mountain slope on the other side. And that was the 3rd time it happened in just a couple miles that night. I was upset, no, pissed off and jumped out of my truck and started yelling at the deer. That's when these barks, howls or screams started coming back at me. I still don't know what that was. I also question why deer were flying straight up that mountain slope.

  • @jeannemarcinek4575

Chris as you are explaining the sounds, you keep looking all over. As if you're waiting for big foot to make its presence. And just think this story happened in the Nevada Sierra where you are. I often wonder as you are walking out it could happen to you. If these creatures are out there, they have been there when there were no humans here. Interesting as everytime on Sunday you introduce all of us to a hew story. So, stay safe, warm/cool, and blessings.

Chris, there are two animals that make sounds that can be terrifying to people, and these are sounds one might not readily associate with these animals. The first is a bobcat. Bobcats make various weird sounds. The first time I heard one "growling," I thought I had encountered a zombie, and I don't believe in zombies. The second sound that can be frightening is the sound of an American Bittern. These are heard around lakes, and Bitterns are rarely seen. It does not sound like a typical bird. Love the stories, and I know from experience that some things we hear and see are difficult to explain to others. You do a great job.

Based on thousands of credible reports dating back to the 1800s, There's nothing to indicate they are inherently dangerous to humans anymore than black bears. Millions of campers, backcountry hikers, hunters, fisherman and loggers venture into the wilderness of North America every year and come out just fine. If they aren't hurting people than they need to be left alone and hidden. No one's going to believe they exist unless the government provides a body or live specimen which means killing or capturing one which should be out of the question. Revealing they exist would only bring out the MAGA types wanting to kill them bevause they think they are a threat.

I hiked into the wilderness around Salmon Idaho along the Salmon River. I went in to go fly fishing. Once I found a spot to go fishing I got into the water and worked my way upstream so I could fish my way back down stream to my exit point.
I started feeling as though I was being watched. I just had that feeling. Then I realized that maybe the reason I felt that way was because I no longer could see any flies on the water. No crickets. No bugs. No birds chirping. No noise at all except the stream going down stream. I also noticed i stopped getting any bites. It stayed that way till I moved back down stream. Weird.
