Very excited for your Nuke tutorial series! This channel will blow up for sure because there is only limited information on vfx topics for both Blender and Nuke. Thank you so much for making these amazing tutorials!
Thanks for this awesome explanation! Can you please make a video on tracking and creating 3d object in nuke without using blender. Your tutorials are quite easy to understand. Keep it up
Honestly it depends on what you plan to do with the shot. If it's majority cg and you need control in blender more then blender. If you need the camera track more in nuke to add plates or anything compositing then nuke. It's easy to export an fbx to use them between programs but each have their own unique things that benefit them in their own program. I use SynthEyes for my tracking and it's by far better than anything I've used. Both nuke and blender are fine but eventually I recommend you get a dedicated program
I think both are pretty similar in terms of getting a decent track. Nuke is a little more hands on and the one I’ve used more so I’m going to have to go with that for my preference. Also I find Nuke is more precise when it comes to VFX where you need a really good track whereas after effects is great for graphics, text, and other smaller scale camera tracking uses. Hopefully that helps!
why when u import to Blender it only shows 210 frames of tracking, I tried to change the fps in blender to 29.97 but I still get 210 frames?! Any help @Jacob_Zirkle ?

This is great! But what if I want to add some trackers to specific areas manually?
You can use a standard tracker node to track points manually. Then under the tab useTracks in de CameraTracker click the Import Tracker button.
Wow thanks Dude😇
this really helped thanks!
Do you have a tutorial on how to get a blender camera track (and point clouds) from blender back into Nuke and scale and orient it in Nuke?
Hello Jacob, awesome tuts 💯. Question, blender and Nuke which has a better cam track?

@@Jacob_Zirkle awesome, thank you very much for the recommendation. I'll check it out.
Do you prefer tracking on AE or Nuke! Which ones faster and mire efficient. Would be a nice video. Thank you!

what if you can't see the ground, like if it's a close-up and its a phone in hands, there is no ground to set a ground plane
is there any other way to export the track? (write geo node is disabled in non comercial... :/
Sorry write geo is a full feature only node. I'd recommend Blender if you want decent free camera tracking
@@Jacob_Zirkle yea, got resolve studio tho, will try fusion tracking too... amazing videos dude!
