I just made this , it was my first try ever , and it was SOOOO GOOD. I actually used cream cheese instead, and it worked good as well . I also topped it with parmesan cheese , and it all came together so well! Prefect creamy pasta combo! ❤️

Great idea
You should be able to prep the canned salmon without the searing step, which might be kind-of a mess. I'd just add it to the pasta while it steams. I'll probably do that someday when I'm too lazy to go out and get fresh salmon.

Hi there! I recommend making crispy salmon patties that you can chop up and throw in at the end with heat off and folded in gently so it sort of resembled real salmon cuts

Just made this. It was amazing. Added some chilli's for a lil kick and used stock also.
I also found use for my 2year old anchovies sitting in the cupboard. Cut some up and threw them in. The salty briny taste really packs up the flavour 😋

This is a fantastic idea. I think I'd be inclined to sear the salmon over *very* high heat, but not cook it completely, and then let it finish steaming over the pasta. Salmon benefits from relatively slow cooking, it ends up soft and buttery. However the general idea is not something I would have invented myself, and I especially like the spinach and yogurt.
I had some salmon in the freezer that I needed to eat and was looking for new ideas because I'm tired of cooking it the same way every time. Searing it to get that skin nice and crispy 1st and letting the stem finish was an awesome idea! Thank you!

Just made this with canned salmon and high-protein pasta. What I like about this recipe is that you just keep adding stuff and, if you wash dishes as you go along, when you’re done, everything will be done. No cleanup. It’s fantastic.

Definitely going to make this.
I do suggest you change the way you cook the salmon. Start it skin side down for about 1 to 2 minutes then flip the salmon to the non-skin side.
Peal off the skin and finish cooking the salmon on the non-skin side until till crusty and the salmon is cooked about 1/2 way through. Flip the salmon back to the former skin side and finish cooking until the salmon is completely cooked and this side is also crusty.
As the salmon finishes cooking put the skin back in the skillet and cook until it is crispy. This crispy salmon skin makes a great side, or garnish if crumbled, to any salmon dish

@@SpainonaFork Thank you! This was excellent! Even though my Greek yogurt was room temp, it still curdled. Usually I purchase full fat and it appears I picked up 2%. So maybe that was it? Maybe I didn't let the pasta/salmon mixture cool down enough before adding it? In any event, it was delicious. I am definitely making this recipe part of my rotation. I enjoyed it tonight and I have two make-ahead dinners for another time. Cheers!
Recommended! My wife demanded a second plateful tonight. The 500g piece of salmon (£6.75 at Tesco) was delicious. I wondered if the penne could absorb so much water, but I then actually needed a tad more. Thanks, @Don Hull for the fish skin 'crackling' tip, a tasty garnish. As for re-cooking the then-exposed side. it's a bit unnecessary since the flesh gets broken up. Another delicious winner from SOAF for the rotation.

Great recipe! I would also crisp up the salmon skin and then serve it over the pasta like "croutons" in pieces, so that the skin won't be wasted!
