I had to replace a ring gear in the rear end for a 1955 Packard and this was before the Internet. After calling someone who knew someone who knew someons enough times, I finally found one at an old shop in Ohio. I drove from Atlanta to Dayton, Ohio and paid what he was asking, but he also gave me a repair manual fot my 1955 Packard Patrician, so worth the trip! Good luck to anyone saving an old car or truck!

Tip: Cheap ole emory boards are perfect for cleaning a plug. 😉 So, my great grandparents had a top line Plym old school and and later an even more modern 70's. They both ran just like the one y'all have there. Just smooth when it's clicking along. I think it's the carb too. She just needs to breathe and drink a little clearer. Man I can't wait til y'all get to the fun stuff of rebuilding a car! That's gonna be so fun to see!
@@G.A.N.G101 - Can’t wait! You should pull your creative side out and do a couple hype videos for what’s to come. 😉 Then those of us who are excited can guess what it’ll be.
I love it! Working on that old Plymouth and getting it running reminds me of some of the stuff the guys in my childhood neighborhood had going. I remember an old jalopy that one of my buddy's oldest brother had and we used to drive it around in the woods. It was "modified" for weight reduction ( half of the body was cut off) and a bunch of us would hang on to anything we could reach while standing on the back bumper. It was so dangerous but what saved us was the fact that it didn't run 98% of the time! 🤣 Good times!
Great video again! I especially like how you improvised a gas tank and string gas pedal. Looks like you guys will have some inside winter projects to work on. Hopefully you can get some of these projects far enough along to sell them!
That's a 218 ci L head flathead 6. Set the points at .016 and the plugs at .035 and if you've got any compression it'll start and run. If you have little or no compression in a couple cylinders, you've probably got a couple of stuck valves which can usually be rectified by pulling the head and tapping the valves down after lubrication and making sure they are on the baseline of the camshaft.
I had a 1951 Plymouth when I was in High School (1966-67). It was a simple car to fix and needed very little maintenance…… Gas and oil and every now and then a set of wiper blades. The most complicated thing on it was the vacuum wipers. Mopar stuck those flatheads in Their cars through 1957. They were as solid as they came. Give that old gal the love she needs….
Here's a thought, next time you're pushing a car off the trailer, have one of your daughters in the driver's seat to apply the brakes when it's off the trailer. ❤️

After getting gasoline on your hands, remember to wash them. While coated with gasoline residue they are the base unit of a torch, should ignition occur. this happened to a man I know. The results were not good.

Sadly soon all combustion cars and trucks including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. Car washs will be forbidden too because they are climate killers, now they want to slow down all the gas station pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime.!!! (BABVVEN & TEBBVEN laws)!!!!!!!!!

Their are several reasons for this: scarcity of original products, junk yards disappearing, and crushing yards just to name a few.
