You are welcome those brakes are two years and 45k miles in and still going strong just make sure that they are properly bedded if not you will have issues .
I rember when a friend of mine bought a 2003 GMC envoy. This was back in 2005. That thing was such a comfortable, reliable , road trip vehicle. I kinda want to find a mint well taken care of one now lol.
The squealing sound was the exhaust gasket?!?! Why would spraying water on it cause it to stop...im confused...i thought you said in the comments the water pump ended up being the problem
No , there where two noises , for 1 I sprayed water on the belt and pulleys , that is how you see if you have a bad belt or pulleys , 2 there was another sound that was also rattling not squeeling , at the end it did end up being then water pump , I never checked it for play which I should have
I bought a set, not exactly a huge fan of installing them. My mounting hardware was pretty poor (2009 Accord) just a few bad bends, angles where wrong, too curved preventing the pads from seating. I straightened some bends out, made them less rounded, which did help, but ultimately I did have to file down the top, and bottom of the brake pads mounting locations too. It wasn't a huge deal, just annoying to deal with, the hardware could be better, but again for the price I can't exactly fault it not to be a factory fit. It could have been better, was certainly one of the more annoying pads/hardware I dealt with. Granted on the second side I was able to use the old mounting hardware, and just file down the mount points on the pads. Wouldn't fit in without some light filing, but it surely beat messing with the included hardware again, and made it far less frustrating. I damaged the old mounting hardware on the first side by stepping on it while moving, and was kicking myself for it. I'm not an expert on changing brake pads, not my occupation, but I've done it a few handful of times in my life, and it's always been pretty straight forward, and quick. This it was not, though not faulting the video, just the particular kit made for my car more so than anything.
I’ve installed power stop brakes on every car I’ve owned and family’s car and had never had a issue , that goes for Toyotas , nissan , GM , and even Hondas .

I actually should post a thanks just because every video I've ever watched I got something out of it, positive or negative. I post more on positive feeling over a negative position. Ok, in my opinion: Have a channel where regular post are made, I believe there is a underlying responsibility in the content posted, before and after a video is posted. (I do understand the flip side and the responsibility I have over myself to consume the content on youtube. Without getting into morals and ethics I'll stop there.). I feel that as soon as you knew the mistake, an edit or some kind of message should have been posted. My mistake if you had and I missed it. This is not a blast just a suggestion to you to help viewers. Lastly, I wanted to commend your acknowledge your admission of a mistake as it's very easy not to. These very minor things we both experienced in the video and the comments turn out to be not so minor. I'll leave you with this. Would taking the time to commend and acknowledge change our everyday experiences? I think it would positively. I take this stance, "Evil people exist because good people let it happen". Look you are looking way into this , watch the video in it’s entirety and I say “ that powerstop makes great products and that it’s just did not work for this car , there is also links to two update videos I made and I explained what Happened, if you watch the next two brake videos I do I say it right there it was my fault, I don’t need to re-edit my video people just need to pay attention
I have update videos on power stop brakes in general , but I haven’t made a video on my CTS I will be doing one soon cause it will be needing brakes. And yes I’ll be going back to power stop for it .
So I have used these about 4x now, YES the breakin is a PITA, but takes 20 mins, I have noticed marked improvement on stopping power, this was my goal, and I get a lot of miles out of them., ssssooo, suck? nah, you just didnt break em in properly. Also, break dust is minimal
Yes it is , I feel like I have to do the brakes in a open track just so I can do this right after , when I do brakes a have to drive it to a open lot , I have to not obey traffic signs . If you ever see me on tV driving away from cops it’s probably cause I’m still trying to do the break procedure lol. “Sorry officer Power stop said not to stop “
@@PRviewsvlogs so what I did today is I broke in the rotors just like I told me to and I notice a lot of brake does I don't know if it has to do with breaking them in but I did take a long trip about 20 minutes off of hell when I came down to hell it was also break does is this due to still be broken in
@@edwardkareem6446 I have heard of people getting a lot of brake dust , I’ve never had that issue , breaking them in would generate some brake dust cause your constantly stoping and heating up the rotors
@@PRviewsvlogs thanks my friend. Does the kit include "everything" or will i need anything else when doing this job. I'm thinking extra lube and some brake cleaner. Possibly a rubber (or steel?) mallet ?
Hmmm, so why did the Brembo rotors go on straight without any issues? You didn't clean the hubs before installing the Brembos. I just installed them on my niece's car and feel bad because there is an overwhelming amount of bad reviews on Power Stop brakes. I would see their calipers on eBay all the time and thought, I would never have confidence on brake products from a company that just copies and sells brake components. Are they proven in real applications and stressed like Brembos or StopTech? No, I don't think so. I repairs high end cars, not for a living but for my own pleasure and am aware of components. I wrongfully went for the quick reviews (staged) on Power Stop brakes and bought thinking that they would be a whole lot better than OEM. Now I regret it. Brakes are one of the most critical components you can replace of a car one should be very discriminating.
The Brembos also had issues , after driving longer distance they also vibrated , I finally decided to re-check all my work and found that there where parts of rust that looked like they were part of the hub but was actually rust , wish I would have made a video on how much I had to chisel of , but it was bad . After that everything was better . And I never had issues before or after this I’ve installed power stop and many other cars too no issues
Thank you so much for this video. It’s helped me tremendously.
It's nice to see you admitting you were wrong, or that you made an error. That's big of you! 💪🏾
Thank you .
well done for you on admitting a mistake and correct it.
Getting these put on front and rear tomorrow on my 2008 trailblazer and didn’t expect a video for this exact setup on the same truck. Thanks!

Luckily I live in Cali and don’t have to worry about rust lol ,
Rust or earthquakes 🤔 I’ll
Take my chances with rust 😆
How do you put those little pieces of medal to the brake pads?
The hardware you put them in the caliper bracket not on the pad

you got the standard pads
The carbon fiber ceramics dont leave dust, if you are going to buy a standard pad go to Napa, and dont comment here
