    Hi everyone!
    Today I will share with you the best way to cook zucchini noodles or zoodles.
    After you make your zucchini into pasta or noodles, preheat olive oil under high heat. When the olive oil is nice and hot, place the zucchini noodles in the pan and add garlic salt and black pepper to taste. Cook the zoodles for abut 2 minutes total while constantly turning them over so they don't burn.
    When the liquid evaporates, strain the noodles for a minute or so and serve them with your favorite sauce.
    I like them with marinara sauce, but my favorite is my homemade Alfredo sauce.
    I hope you enjoy!

    I like to sock it in boiling water for 30 seconds. It won't be fully cooked, but once you add the hot pasta sauce on it, it fully cooks it before you eat. But this looks like a good recipe too.

      I do basically the same thing but I do my noodles and let them drain in a colander over a pan or large bowl for 10-15 minutes and always put them in a thirsty towel and gently pat to get as much water out as possible before putting in the hot oil. I didn't see her do this at all. It helps too with the oil spitting and popping. I also use young small to medium size zuccs. I have seen some folks use these monster over grown things which are nothing but water and big seeds - the same with yellow crookneck squash or cukes for that matter. There is a just right size. Use them young and no more than mid size and the seeds will be small, the flesh tender and the flavor much better.

    I made Zoodles yesterday with fresh tomatoes and mushroom sauce. The zoodles needed so much more seasoning. Instead of fresh garlic I will definitely use garlic salt. I did grate the garlic and never tasted it. I also added Italian seasoning too and Parmesan cheese which helped. Thank you for your great suggestions and am looking forward to the Alfredo sauce.

    If you salt after, it wont draw the moisture out and might fry better. I do a lot better with rice caulfilower when I add salt after it is cooked. If I salt the riced cauliflower while cooking it turns to mush. If I do it after, it's a nice dry cauliflower rice.

It’s really good and I actually made it again last night along with the zoodles. Here is a link to the video: ua-cam.com/video/wsWaYv5daMg/v-deo.html Thank you for watching!

    I paused your video before you finished and went to the kitchen to try your recipe. I did take the liberty to modify it just a bit. I used just a small amount of bacon grease, garlic powder, salt and black pepper, as you did. I fried my zucchini in a cast iron skillet and served it with parmesan cheese sprinkled over it. It was so easy and fast. I'll be doing this again, but I still think of it as your recipe. I'm doing low-carb and this fit my need for variety. Thank you.

    What’s the point of low calorie noodles if you’re gonna drench them in oil? Now it’s more calories than regular spaghetti🙄

    • @AnOldSchoolHome
      @AnOldSchoolHome  3 роки тому +2

      Hello! I don’t think it’s more calories, but even if it is, calories from healthy fats are way better than calories from pasta. The carbohydrates from pasta turn into sugar as soon as you eat them and cause spikes in blood sugar. Which causes the release of insulin I used to feel same as you until I started to gain weight in my late 30s for no appointment reason. After a few weeks of research, I quit all sugar and all pasta, bread, pastry etc and list 35 pounds in 3 months. I’m now in my late 40s and I’m in a better shape I’ve ever been - even in my 20s. Look it up, I’m not making it up. I alternate between Keto and Paleo lifestyles. And yes, I do eat bad carbs around the holidays, but then I go back to clean eating. Thank you for watching anyway :) BTW, some people steam them, but I don’t really like it.
